DO NOT GO HERE FOR PRENATAL MASSAGE. I left my appointment in tears. I have had many prenatal massages and from what I experienced here today I do not believe this is a service they should be offering. I was not given proper support for my body during the massage because they didn't have it. No bolster or wedge pillows were used. I do not think the woman who gave me the massage is even a licensed massage therapist. She rubbed directly on my bones and along my spine the entire time. When she did touch my muscles she pinched and poked at them. Proper technique was not used. I left feeling worse than when I came in and burst into tears as soon as I walked out the door. I got robbed by this place. Don't give them your money or put your body and baby at risk by coming here. Edit: after I left this review they refunded me but continued to deny my experience. They asked me to take this review down because they were worried it would impact their business and showed no remorse or concern for the injury they caused me. Do not go here for anything. Initially I thought this place wa slut bad for parental massage but it's clear they don't care about patient outcomes only making money. If they care this little about hurting a pregnant woman imagine how little they will care about your facial esthetics? I wouldn't go here for ANYTHING. I have been going here for a couple of years and I love it! Monica is super responsive when I text her with questions and setting up appointments. I highly recommend doing a membership if you want regular massages or facials. They have a ton of services! My go to massage therapist are Danny and Tom. Been coming here off and on for years... even back when it was Massage Green Spa. Have seen various massage therapists over the years. Most of them have stoped working here. Recently I have been going to Elena and she gives a great deep tissue massage. Have had some issues in the past with scheduling. For example I asked for a deep tissue massage and was given someone that only did Swedish. That has happened twice. Now that I like Elena I request her and don't have that problem anymore. read more

Came here for a massage while on vacation and I had the best experience! Both Monica the owner and Mario the massage therapist were so hospitable! Although I had originally booked for a 12:30 appointment I was trying to get started earlier in order to make to my train on time. Monica asked Mario to stay and preform my massage although he was done for the day and I couldn't be more grateful to him! To top it off, Monica gifted me a beautiful handmade soap bar. I am on vacation and the traveling had left me stiff and hobbling. The massage therapist Zoie was able to take care of all my trouble spots specifically my shoulders. After the massage with all the stress gone I felt I could finally enjoy my vacation. I added the scalp massage and the CBD therapy which brought the relaxation up to 11! I requested information regarding the qualifications of their practitioners to learn about their specialties, how long they have been practicing, etc & a Very Very Rude staff member responded, and I quote, "We don't give information from our therapist but if you want to book a massage thats fine. Do not come here! I scheduled an appointment for a follow up after my fillers and when I showed up to my appointment it turned out they had cancelled it without notifying me, so it was a waste of time. Overall the staff is extremely unprofessional and the front desk young girl has no idea what she is doing or how to speak to clients in a professional manner. For the amount of money you are paying you are better off going to a well established spa, like Evolutions. They also charge a 50 dollar fee if you miss your appointment but take zero accountability when they cancel appointments without notice! This office is a mess, save yourself a headache! read more

I booked a COUPLES massage with a salt / scrub on Sunday, July 23, 2023. I asked for a couples massage for me and my best friend because it's her birthday. It was supposed to be for 4pm but your front desk told me to come earlier. Now; I drove two hours from Los Angeles to bring my best friend for our not only did the front desk girl DID not book the couples massage, she didn't book the salt and scrub either. She even suggested to us to come earlier. I show up to the spa and the couples massage + the salt/scrub was NOWHERE to be found. Only the one massage. With no additions either that I asked for. The girl at the front desk could not even give me a straight answer and couldn't even offer me anything. Nothing. I asked for the manager and apparently are in mexico. I truly feel so embarrassed and disappointed that your team did not put in the correct appointment and treatments. I really hope that there is a way we can resolve this because I was truly looking forward to come and now couldn't spend my best friend's birthday with her because of this spend her bday with her . read more

They will miss quote you and overcharge you for below average massages. Customer service was absolutely horrible. They quoted us a total of $248.00 and charged us $385.00. We requested a prenatal massage and they gave us an "advanced" prenatal massage we never asked for. Massage was subpar. Atmosphere was stiff and dull. I was very excited to enjoy a 90 minute massage for my birthday. Unfortunately, not only was the massage low quality, but the masseuse talked incessantly during my massage. She did not stop even when I tried to shut down conversation multiple times. She asked deeply personal questions and then offered unsolicited advice about my life and business. The massage was obviously not the relaxing experience I had hoped for. I immediately contacted the spa via email to let them know about my experience in hopes we could come up with fair solution given the fact that my massage was ruined due to the unprofessional behavior of one of their staff. They in turn offered that I could use the sauna before another massage I was expected to pay for. When I suggested that they either refund me for the massage or allow me to come in and get a massage with another technician they compared it to complaining about a meal after it has been consumed. This is an unfair comparison since you don't have to get up naked in the middle of a meal to contact the management. Both the service and their response was disappointing and I would not recommend Essence to anyone looking for a relaxing experience or management that is interested in maintaining the quality of the services provided. read more

She also asked about my problem areas but then skipped an area where I am having a lot of pain. I booked a prenatal massage with them and when I got there the therapist has switched without notifying me. I overheard her talking with the receptionist about her not having experience and she still took me back to the massage room. I told her I'm 7 months pregnant (which I told the receptionist at booking and on my paperwork) and the therapist told me she had only ever done one prenatal massage before but the woman wasn't very far along. She asked me if I would be comfortable on my stomach which was a big red flag (she did not have any support pillows or anything). I told her I was not comfortable and this didn't feel right so I would not be having the massage and she said that's ok that's my prerogative. No - that's me making a smart decision for me and my baby's health and safety. According to the receptionist this therapist is NOT on the list of prenatal providers which is such an inappropriate and unethical decision for them to set me up with her. I'm so disappointed and cannot believe how unprofessional this experience was. I would not trust them with any service after this. They asked me to come back later with another provider and offered free aromatherapy... are you serious? How on earth do you think I would trust them now. And free aromatherapy, really? Come on. That does not make up for unethical practice. Talk about a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen. read more
