I dropped in on a Monday afternoon for a pedicure and was able to get right in. The staff was nice and I had ample colors to choose from. As far as price, it was comparable to my typical pedicure in Alpharetta. I asked for a design, and got a very simple few stripes. Not the most technical, but it was still cute. Stopped in last minute for a pedicure, and this might just become my new spot for nails! Walked in without an appointment and was greeted and sat right away after picking out my color. Everything is super clean, and the esthetician took her time with my nails and made sure I was happy with the color before finishing. They offer many different levels of pedicures, and of course, manicures as well. I've taken a little break from manicures and SNS, but when I'm ready, I will definitely come back here for the full experience. Super convenient location, and near lots of restaurants off Market Place. Plenty of parking out front since this is in a shopping center. It looks quite small from the outside, but actually offers plenty of chairs and pedicure spas on the inside. I have been coming here for many years and have been very happy with the services. I tried to squeeze in an appointment between two others I had today with my regular tech, Lee, but she was unavailable. I ended up booking with Frank, who not only did a great job but had the most amazing story about what he went through as a refugee to get to this country. I went there on 9/12 and had two gift cards worth $42. The technician, Ann, was good and friendly. However, they would not honor my gift cards. They claimed they are new owners and don't have access to the prior owner's records. I wondered why the place was nearly empty while I was there and before it was always full. I waited to visit Essence two times before reviewing - especially considering my first experience. I always get dip and a pedicure when I do my nails and my visits to Essence were no exception. I made an appointment both times and did not have to wait at all. There are a ton of colors to choose from so try to have a color in mind so you do not get overwhelmed, like me. I got the citrus pedicure both times and it is lovely. I love all the scrubs and the massages. Both times my toe nail polish was applied pretty sloppily with the top coat not covering the entire nail, but from far away (like the normal distance) you cannot really tell. The pedicures are long and luxurious - I likely will never try the standard pedicure here. The citrus one is such a great value in my opinion, notwithstanding the polish issues. One of the things I love the most is that I can sit in the pedicure chair and get my hands done at the same time. It really cuts the time in the salon significantly which I appreciate greatly. The first time I got my hands done the dip was not applied close to the cuticle line so it looked like they were already grown out before I left. It was also much more thick than I am used to. The owner checked on me and I expressed my concerns. She took great care of me and invited me back for a do-over. When I returned a few weeks later for my second visit, Hanna did my dip and she did such an amazing job. Such a great thickness and it was applied right where it should be near the cuticle line. Admittedly I am a bit picky with my hands - yet Hanna blew me away! I am looking forward to returning to her next time. The owner is really sweet, and cares about everyone's experience. She apologized profusely for my nails the first visit and checked on me several times during my second. We just purchased a house in Woodstock and I could not be more bummed about the distance I will be to this gem. I am debating making the drive still so Hanna can work her magic and I can get my citrus pedicures. Please, please try out Essence if you are searching for a new nail place. You will not regret it! read more

The staff is amazing. I can text and schedule as well as call. They are fast to respond and easy to schedule an appointment. My technician is Chi Chi and she is absolutely AMAZING!!!! She is kind. She is a perfectionist and it shows in her work. I do SNS French and she is absolutely meticulous in how my nails look. I read reviews and decided to give this place a try. I made an appointment since I wanted to get designs on my nails. They were able to get me in when I was hoping to get in. Everyone was super nice. The salon was clean and everything appeared to be sanitized. I got acrylic tips with SNS dip and gel design. I've never had acrylic tips before but I love how they turned out. I also got the organized pedicure. My feet feel soft and smooth and the paint looks great. I'll definitely be coming back soon. read more

Getting a pedicure together is one of our favorite things to do as a couple. This was one of the worst and laziest pedicures I have ever received. The staff was rude from the start. I chose the Sport Pedicure which boasts a "deep massage muscle relax" and yet the technician barely slid her hands around my legs and feet, chatting with her coworker the whole time. I love this place !!I just moved to Atlanta from NY and I was looking for nail salon I tried a few and decided to try this because they had great reviews. I have been to Essence twice now - both times for pedicures. On my first visit, I got a sport pedicure. This last visit, I indulged in a luxury pedicure. Both were a treat, but the all-out luxury is fantastic - I live for the exfoliating and leg massage. The luxury pedicure was certainly worth the extra cost! Not to mention the chairs - they actually work and they work wonderfully - leg massage AND back massage? Yes, please! My first pedicure lasted through at least a month's worth of days in the sand, many long runs and hard workouts. I almost wish it chipped faster or my toenails grew quicker so that I could go more often! I had a go-to place before moving to this area and was sad to leave it behind. I'm happy to have found a new home. The staff is very friendly and approachable. They've been steadily busy each time I've gone in so I'm clearly not Essence's only fan! read more

First off, the place is clean, nicely laid out, and they have a great ddy l selection of polishes and services! The staff is adopter friendly and will continue to call you by name if you make an appointment (which I recommend if you want good nail art)! Jade did my nails for me, freestyle I might add, based on a photo I brought in. Not only was the outcome of the art amazing, but the quality of the nail work was wonderful as well! Michelle did my pedi (I sprung for the luxury package) and her foot massage almost put me to sleep it was so good! I've been coming to Essence for about 9 years and have loved every visit. They are not as busy as most salons so there is not much wait. But don't let them not being busy fool you into thinking they are not any good. The are great! I've been to other salons around town that are so busy and loud that I could not relax, but here it is totally different. They give the best facials and waxing around. Their mani's and pedi'a are great. They have several kinds of pedi's to choose from. I got my eyebrows tattooed there about 5 years ago and they look so great you would never know mine are tattooed. Their staff is the most friendly of any other salon I've ever been too! Finally, their prices. They are a bit cheaper than anyone in town as well. YOU JUST CAN NOT GO WRONG HERE. read more

Every time I get a pedicure, I am "that girl" who has to sit down and apologize for my feet being a little beat up...pedicures for me are few and far between, unfortunately. When I do get a pedicure, it is difficult for me to go anywhere else. I haven't found many places whose pedicures last as long as the pedicures at Essence. No matter who does my pedicure, it is always quality. It is true also what Heidi M said, the chairs work and are fantastic! I've also been here with very large groups and they are great to work with. I'm a fan. Came here desperate for a manicure on my lunch hour and found this place in a shopping plaza. Warmly greeted and the manicurist did a really good job. She was very meticulous. My polish lasted 2 weeks without chipping and this was normal polish. When I returned a couple weeks later, the owner actually remembered my name. How is this possible?! I was impressed. The salon offers the typical services of most nail salons but they also have different refreshments including water and soda and also snacks too if you're hungry. The tubs have tub liners! Major plus for hygienic reasons. And another perk? They take AMEX! So all in all I was impressed and have decided to come here as often as I can for my mani/pedis. And if you check in you can save 10% on $35. So hurry in and try them! read more

Best salon I've ever been to, hands down. The women that work there are so sweet and they do a wonderful job making you feel comfortable. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of their services make the prices even better. I will never go to another nail salon again! Not even for a quick fill in or pedi. I will only come here! Also, I live quite aways away, so my dedication to this salon is with great reason. My acrylic nails rarely pop off, and even then it's because I'm low on time so I miss the two week fill in. Gel nail Polish is great quality and they have a ton of colors. I have recently found it very difficult to find a nail salon I like. Previous ones are in a hurry rough etc. Essence Nails did a phenomenal job. The pedicure was amazing a long massage. My SNS manicure great and looks amazing. I have used Essence nails for the last 9 months. They are quite simply ,incredible . Heidi does my SNS and Lisa my pedicure. They both go so far above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the color etc. This is by far the best nail salon I've been ever used!!! Everything is very organized. They are on time and honor your appointment time. Cindy the owner is just wonderful!! Everyone there is very accommodating!! I miss them and can't wait to get in to see them. read more

Paid 50.00 for a basic manicure and spa pedicure which were both awful. Arrived at 4 and the place was packed. I had scheduled a pedicure and asked for an add on manicure. Think they just pulled someone over who never did one before. I've never had to ask for someone to fix 2 nails anywhere else, but these were totally messed up. Someone else fixed them ( no base or top coat added). Pedicure also was worst ever. massage felt like wet noodles and you need to pay extra to have your heals done ( news to me). Toe nail paint chipped off less then a week while on a cruise. Worst ever ! I'll never go back! read more

The whole team was so friendly and you can tell the place is full of regulars. I made an appointment because it seems to be highly appreciated. The prices were right on point with other nearby salons but the relaxing and friendly vibe are what will bring me back. I've never had anyone pay so much attention to the simple things of a mani/pedi like cuticles/shape. But wow they sure did! I did the sport pedicure and there was so much massaging and she took her time buffing and with callous removal so it wasn't miserably ticklish. Heidi did my nails and she made sure that the entire time i liked how they were turning out. Everyone made sure i was 100% satisfied. There were so many color options for SNS and regular polish. The owner was so sweet and appreciative of her customers. I can't wait to come back after Christmas for my vacation nails. read more

Came in without an appointment. I was shown to a room by a therapist wearing jeans but before…read moregoing into the room I went down the hall to use the restroom. When I came out I was told someone with an appointment came in and I would have to wait for another therapist that wasn't there yet. I was then led to a different room to wait, I believe each therapist has their own room. It was about 15 minutes before another therapist came in wearing a sundress. After she started the massage she completely removed the cover sheet and put her bare leg over mine with her knee in my groin while massaging my back and shoulders. Little strange but they all have different styles I suppose. I have gotten massages from therapists in sun dresses before but they have worn little shorts under them, this therapist was not which was made obvious while massaging my legs she leaned over and caught her dress on my hand that was laying on the edge of the table and I ended up with bare thigh and satin underwear pressed into my hand. She did that more than once while obviously brushing against things while massaging my inner thighs. After I turned over I was still left uncovered. She began to lightly massage my upper legs but I asked her to massage my head and feet to avoid anything else. Didn't get her name, just paid and left.

If you're looking for a new nail salon, THIS IS IT!!! I moved to the area a year ago and hopped around until my coworkers told me about this place. I have had to wait a few times but never for very long. And I'm usually waiting in a chair with my feet soaking whenever this happened. I don't ever mind a wait because Cindy and her team have ALWAYS given me top notch treatment and taken their time when it is my turn. It doesn't matter who I get, they all take their time and do an AMAZING job!!! And everybody has always been very gentle. My nails are thin and weak. The staff does whatever it takes to keep my nails healthy, and they explain what they are doing as they do it to educate me. I also love that every time I sit down, they pull out sterile instruments. Cindy keeps this place running like a well oiled machine. It is clean, friendly and organized. You would think as busy as they are, you'd be bound to run into somebody with an attitude. But the entire staff has always been extremely friendly. They take the time to get to know you and learn your name. The very first time I walked in, they treated me as if I was a long time customer. To top it off, they give the best massages when you get a manicure and pedicure (I have yet to try a facial or massage but hope to soon) . This is so hard to come by now a days as most places skimp out on this. Prices are very fair too. I always feel like I get my money's worth. I love that they offer a "rewards card" type deal. It shows how much they value their customers. I'm writing this review/novel because I have been beyond happy every time I leave here and when you find a good place, it has to be shared!!! I absolutely love this salon & wouldn't go anywhere else for manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing & much more!! The employees at Essence Nails & Day Spa are so sweet & the service is top notch. I never feel rushed while I am there relaxing. They are excellent about taking and keeping appointments. Prior to finding this salon, I had bounced around from salon to salon in this area trying to find quality service & there aren't any that beat Essence! The quality of their services are a ten out of ten! Since I switched to Essence, my polish has been lasting weeks rather than days & when I used to go to other salons I always felt like they must water down their polish because it never lasted, but when I get my nails done here, they look brand new 3 to even 4 weeks later (minus the growth)! Their gel polish is amazing too & lasts weeks. I look forward to every appointment I have with them. I've been going to Essence Nails & Day Spa for almost 3 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Cindy runs an amazing salon that not only is clean and on pint with their services but friendly and inviting. Heidi does the best SNS I've ever had done in over 3 states. She offers help picking the right colors and also is very friendly. Ive also had a lash lift which I'd never done before and was extremely happy with the results. I'll likely get a mini set of lashes come June for a photo shoot. The prices are on point for the services provided and if there's ever an issue they fix it no problem. I'm getting married in August and will be bringing my wedding party in for manis and pedis the week of because it the only place I trust with my nails. Always satisfied! I've been going here regularly for many years and have always enjoyed my experience whether it was a mani/pedi, facial or waxing. Cindy & her ladies have it together! They are very genuine and really care about you! Levan is the esthetcian and is fantastic! I've been to medical spas anchored to a dermatologist and enjoy her experience much better. She uses Yon Ka products from paris which I'm hooked on. She has a tapping technique that stimulates collagen and always makes the skin under my chin tighten up. If you need an over all facial wax that's quick with very minimal discomfort, she is your lady! My go to mani gal is Tee and my pedi gal is usually Lisa but GiGi is great as well! I walked in on a very busy Saturday, Cindy honest to tell me there is a wait for 20minutes, but she sit down and soak my SnS off to wait for the next available technician. it's just about 15 minutes, Ally comes over and start with my nails. Let me tell you this is the best Ombre I ever had. It looks so natural and beauty. The pedicure is so pampering, I never had someone rub my feet for that long, and I have had a lot of pedicure. This is a family owned & operated business. Cindy is the owner who takes great pride in her and her employee's craftsmanship. The shop is run like a well oiled machine. They are super friendly, efficient, and professional. The shop is well sanitized and they follow strict cleanliness guidelines. All of the employee's wear masks even pre-pandemic. I always feel like a VIP when I call and/or walk through the door. This is the best place to get your nails done in Forsyth County!! The only spa I will get mine done in the greater Atlanta area. The staff is like family and they are so professional and personable! Love this salon! My nails look great EVERY appointment and everyone is so friendly. They have the most color options I have ever seen! Colors I didnt know existed! I often struggle with scheduling regular appointments but Cindy seems to work her magic every time fitting me in within a day or two. I can't say enough about how GREAT THIS PLACE IS! I have been getting my nails done at Essence Nails with Cindy and her girls since at least 2014. I have moved to Kennesaw, Woodstock and Roswell, but still drive to see my girls very 3-4 weeks. Cindy has become part of our family. I have been looking for Jade and Tina the nail specialist for one year!! I finally found them essence nail spa owned by Cindy. I will go no other place because Jade does the most amazing nails and pedicure ever. Tina you can't get an appointment with her for months because she does the best SNS nails. If you live in the area or have to drive out here it is so worth it. But I insist you make a appointment because they're always busy. Also my favorite pedicure is the one where they put a shot of vodka in the water for sanitation purposes. read more

I came into this salon because of the great reviews and let me just tell you they did not disappoint. I explained what I wanted and they were very attentive and they exceeded my expectations. In the past SNS (at other salons) is too thick on my nails and I expressed my concern and they told me they would make sure it's thin. Man did Ty do a FANTASTIC job. I will definitely be going back. The one that knew didn't paint the base first, it was the other one. And then when the main lady came to do it, she put foil on (very quickly and just not trying to replicate the essence of the pic) and I showed her the pic again for the marbling that was supposed to be a part of it. She tried doing it with another paint and it looked horrible so she took it off. I think overall there needs to be more communication. The lady that painted the gel on my nails.. I was so close to showing her the pic but she didn't want to see. The main person had pushed us that they'll do exactly like this, encouraging us to get more things done, etc from the beginning, but overall it just wasn't a relaxing experience. I give it the stars because the nails turned out alright and for the time we shared at the end when I responded in Vietnamese to them as they were talking some crap. After that, we were able to have a genuine convo. But just a heads up that even if people don't come in nog speaking Viet doesn't mean they don't know it! Any person of different race/ethnicity can still understand.

I'm in my 50s and she's by far the best "Nail Girl" I've ever had! She and her sister Ellie, the salon manager, have turned into friends over the years as well and I have now followed them to 2 places. I could drive five minutes around the corner from where I live but I travel 25 minutes to get to these folks. You won't be disappointed coming here. As for Summer, she gives an amazing pedicure and massage, and I won't go anywhere else. Love these people and love the services they provide.

While the staff was polite and the final nail quality was decent, the overall experience was extremely frustrating due to scheduling and time management issues. Despite having appointments, services ran significantly behind schedule throughout the evening. The children (age 9&10) in our group waited several hours (approx 5hrs) before their services even began, and my acrylic nail appointment did not start until around 9:30 PM. I ultimately left the salon close to midnight. :( In total, I spent nearly 8 hours (one work day) at the salon for a gel pedicure and a fairly simple acrylic nail set. By the time my service started, I was too exhausted to proceed with the nail art I had originally planned. I understand that nail art can take time, but customers should be informed of major delays, and appointments should be managed in a way that respects everyone's time. Keeping adults and young children in the salon until almost midnight is not an acceptable customer experience. The nails themselves turned out nicely, but the excessive wait and lack of schedule management overshadowed the entire visit. I hope the salon improves its appointment planning and communication going forward. 2 stars--one star for the nail quality and one for the staff being courteous. The final nails are fine, but no nail service is worth spending an entire workday in a salon. The issue was not the technicians' skills--it was the complete lack of appointment management, prioritization, and respect for customers' time.

I believe I've gotten the deluxe pedi and I actually had to ask how long are the massages in each pedi because I was surprised at how long they were massaging each time I went in. The only downside to this is often I want to ask them to stop because my bottom begins to hurt badly from sitting too long. The salon itself is definitely outdated and needs to be really overhauled. When you walk in, you feel like you just walked into a hole in the wall back alley salon and aren't sure you want to stay. But the people are really nice, the prices are affordable, and they constantly text you with coupons.
