I reached out to her and sent her pictures of the look I was going for beforehand and she explained the process she would follow. I decided to make the the appointment and am glad that I did. She was punctual for the appointment. The products that she used were gentle on my hair although the color was being lifted. She straightened my hair which also makes me nervous sometimes because some stylists go to heavy on the heat and damage my curl pattern. It's been over a month now and I can say that my curls bounced back nicely, I'm in love with the color, have gotten lots or compliments, and have not noticed any damage to my hair. I was a bit skeptical cause his shirt was dirty, the chair I sat in had someone else's hair dye all over it, and I started to feel uneasy. After explaining to him during the cut, I don't spend a lot on cuts, but do expect a decent one and the last guy didn't do this. I also said several times I don't spend a lot of time or money on my hair. It came up in conversation frequently. He also spoke about how the politicians are price gauging and we were both wishing for change since today is election day. I said us folks that are medium class are barely getting by. He cut my hair when it was dry and unwashed which was a first for me. He then said he can wash it afterwards and blow dry it cause I was discussing different styles down the road. I don't know the correct terminology but I can assure you I asked him for a blow dry knowing how much you guys charge for a blow OUT. He spent a while drying my long hair to where I even told him he didn't have to send that long on my hair cause I never do. I'm just not that person. He kept drying it. When I went to pay I was expecting to be charged for a cut/blowdry as my appointment was set to. The most would be $33 due to him being "experienced". He charged me over $50. I said "why so much" and he mentioned I got a blowout. I told him I didn't ask for a blowout. I asked for a normal wash and blowdry and told him he was the one who suggested a blowDRY to see if the style I was thinking about getting would look ok. I also discussed getting high lights too. I was humiliated! By his actions and felt completely taken advantage of!!!! How dare he do extras just to charge me more!!! I'll NEVER visit a hair cuttery again ....never! I planned to give him a lot of future business but that went completely down the drain with him price gauging me! How pathetic. Especially cause he and I were just complaining to each other how politicians do this and how hopeful we were for change. This is a quick way to lose customers cause I will be telling EVERYONE about this awful experience!
