I've passed by this coffee shop a few times. It's so pristine, I was intimated to go in. Pastries are housed in individual glass displays. It doesn't get more bougies than that. After a stressful day at the office, I worked up the courage to go inside. The white marble & chic décor provides an elegant atmosphere to dine in. It's also a great spot to get some work done on your laptop. In addition to pastries, they also serve breakfast (all day), salads, sandwiches, pizzas, & bowls. Beverage options include specialty coffee drinks, matcha, mimosas, & spritzes. There is also a case with pre-made salads, sandwiches, & cold beverages to go. Chris greeted me as I approached the counter. He was so sweet & friendly. I asked for a mimosa without the O.J. He laughed and rang me up. He personally handed my bubbly to me with a smile that made me forget about my stressful day. Chris is awesome! I'll be sure to come back during his shift. read more

Dearest Esso, I want to like you so badly, I keep coming back every week. The Lunch Menu is always delicious. The drinks.. awful.. (See below) ~ The Waygu Beef Sandwich 10/10: easily one of the best sandwiches in the area. It has a special mediterranean taste with a tzatziki-style sauce that keeps the sandwich perfectly wet. The meat is always cooked & shredded to perfection, & the inside is filled with vibrant leafy greens. I love what you have going on here. ~ The Breakfast Platter 10/10: Comes served with cheesy scrambled eggs that anyone would enjoy. A side of fresh feta cheese, some toasty cherry tomatoes, & fluffy sour dough slices. The star are the turkey patties. They are a great source of protein & the whole plate is just overall a great nutritional source. THE ISSUE: the drinks.. they are so bad.. terrible. I have given Esso many chances with their different iced coffees & matcha lattes. They have all been monstrously awful. It's rare that I can get pasta. third sip before I have to stop. I wish you guys would change your milk ratio & matcha brand. Every milk-based drink is TOO milky, there is no taste of neither coffee nor matcha. The syrups have a sort of grainy taste as well. Drinks & food aside, Esso Caffé is decorated in such a bland way, yet it always feels comfy to sit there. I love the time I spend sitting inside or on the outdoor tables. My daughter ordered a refresher, but she didn't enjoy it and didn't even finish it. The pastry selection was also limited. I've been going to this place for over a year but only ordered coffee. Today I decided to order avocado toast and couldn't believe that I was served avocado spread out of a bag... so so so disappointing! especially for the fact that we're in California with no shortage of avocados on top of that, fact this location is in the centre of Beverly Hills, is unacceptable .As soon as I saw the spread I knew better but was so hungry I had to taste it and it taste exactly how it looks, like baby food. read more

The matcha here was amazing! I like how it's not too sweet, you can still taste the matcha, and it's not bitter! However, it's kind of pricey, (8.5 for a matcha) There's a lot of variety with coffee, matcha, etc. They also have food (sandwiches, bowls, pizza, breakfast, pastries) It's very clean here and spacious. I had some time to kill before my appointment and stumbled onto Esso Caffe. An elegant coffee shop on the corner of Bedford and Brighton in Beverly Hills. These unplanned stops are my favorite because it's always an adventure. The place is beautiful inside. I found a table near the back with a couch to do some work and take a call. The music inside is low so you can chat or work without distraction. I started with a Flat White. This is all about the ratios and it was perfect. The espresso was smooth. They have a decent amount of food options so I tried the poached eggs served with a yogurt base and some yummy pita crisps that pulled everything together. I ended my stay with a hot Spanish latte. Another nice drink, light sweetened and smooth like a good scotch. They use Italian beans from Cafe Voloce. Staff was friendly and helpful guiding me around the menu. Service is not rushed but efficient. So the stress levels stay low and the coffee continue to flow. I thought about an iced coffee for the road but didn't want to over do it. Location recently opened up. It's truly one of the prettiest coffee shops in BH, which says alot as there are about 3 coffee shops on every corner. Aesthetically a cute place, with green velvet seating, plenty of natural lighting, outdoor dining, open and spacious floor plan, and floor to ceiling window that is fully opened. An influencers dream for sure. Staff was friendly. Seemed like a popular place to grab lunch or breakfast. I only had a latte. Latte was good, a bit on the pricier side compared to other shops but makes sense as their to go cups are on the more elevated side. I'll def return to check out their lunch. When it comes to coffee, people have their preference. Some like sweet, some like bitter, so it's hard for me to judge the latte. But overall, i'd say this place is worth a visit if you like visiting coffee shops. read more

Esso is a brand new coffee shop in Beverly Hills. It's been around for 3 months. It's aesthetically very pleasing in here. They have green velvet booths and round tables. It's an order up at the counter type place. Pretty busy around lunch time but the line was not long. I got banana bread and a little raspberry cookie to-go. I was really impressed with the presentation. It was served with fresh fruit. The banana bread was delicious and moist. The cookie was perfection as good as it looked. I also am pretty sure the owner was there making sure everyone got their orders. Love when the owners are hands on. Always a plus. I wasn't expecting an Arab-inspired coffee spot like this right in the middle of Beverly Hills, but it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The barista (who I think was also the cashier) was super friendly and helpful. I asked for his recommendation, and he did not miss -- the espresso was bold and flavorful, the perfect balance of sweet and strong, and the matcha was smooth, rich, and delicious. I'm still wired just thinking about it! I also tried two of their pastries -- the banana nut bread and lemon bread -- and both were so good. Fresh, moist, and beautifully presented. Even the plating was cute! The café itself is cozy and aesthetic -- clean, well-designed, and the vibe sitting by the window overlooking the street was just perfect for catching up with a friend. The cashier told me the croissants are made fresh in house, but they most certainly are not, they are dry and stale and feel like they were bought from the sale rack at the market bakery.
