I have to say, this place is overpriced. I understand it's Beverly Hills, but come on. Charging $18 for an açaí bowl that isn't even filled properly is a bit much. And $12 for a one-size blueberry matcha that tastes like any other matcha in the area? Nothing really sets it apart. Honestly, if it weren't so close to my work, I probably wouldn't come here. On top of that, the wait time was longer than expected for something as simple as an açaí bowl. I could maybe justify the price if the service matched it, but it didn't. Had some time to kill between doctors appointments and decided to grab some coffee and snack near by. Good small shop near Cedars Medical Office. Limited parking, fortunately we have a ADA placard and was able to park in the neighborhood. The building exterior is quite striking and the interiors match the modern minimal aesthetics. The flat white and oatmeal we order were good and hit the spot, nice fresh fruit on it. Friendly staff with quick service. Just be mindful of parking. read more

I was a few blocks away from this coffee shop after leaving Radnet and wanted to stop by to check it out. The iced rosewater latte sounded very interesting so I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised with how well the rosewater flavor came through. The service was quick, the place was clean and there's a good variety of drinks so I recommend coming here after your exam too! My only issue was the price, I know it's Beverly Hills but a drink plus tip is going to cost you more than $10. read more

BCC is a beautiful coffee shop with quiet and relaxed atmosphere. They only have about 8-9 tables so seating is unfortunately quite limited. Had an iced oat latte and my wife had a matcha latte. The iced oat latte was good, but definitely not the best in the area. The matcha latte was very strong so if you love a strong matcha, you'll really love it. The breakfast sandwich was decent. My only complaint is the price - easily one of the most expensive coffee shops in the area. $10 for an iced oat latte (alt milks are $1.50 up charge) and $10 for the matcha latte. The breakfast sandwich was $20(!). Other than that, the drinks and food were good and service was friendly! read more

I am an avid matcha drinker and this is by far the best matcha I have ever had. The rose water recipe is incredible!! I could decide what to eat so we all ordered something different and shared. I was visiting LA and came into the shop 3 days in a row. The first day (Mothers Day) a lovely young lady engaged in pleasantries as she made the most delightful latte for me. I have food restrictions and made my order with perfection, which is why I came in the next day! The second day there was a man there serving and when I questioned the price and what I ordered he got frustrated with me. I'm from out of town and not familiar with the menu and prices. Although I felt dismissed and belittled, I still came back the 3 rd day. On the third day I asked another question about the pricing of my food substitutions and he say, " Lady you did this yesterday! (Raised voice)" I asked if it was wrong for me to ask and he kept saying , " You did this yesterday!!" I said that the owners had cameras and could hear the whole thing. I cancelled my food order and still took the coffee. He was rude in his service and I see why they only ha 3 at this location. I still gave him a tip to uphold MY standard of courtesy. But the guy was a total jerk. It took away from quality of the coffee and food. Funny a customer after me asked a similar question about the food. He answered her with courtesy. The customer service is greatly lacking. Definitely unwelcomed vibes. My oat chai latte was mediocre maybe 6/10 at best. The owner has a recent sign that says dogs are not allowed. Although my dog and I were on the patio, she still had the nerve to vent to us about a previous incident she had with an entirely different dog. This is so unprofessional and had nothing to do with me or my dog who was literally being an angel, sat outside, and didn't make a sound. The only reason I came here is because I needed a quick coffee on my walk and this happened to be right here. Would not come again. This place is almost a perfect place to work - Wifi/outlets/chill vibe. That's somehow very hard to find in this part of town. The coffee is shockingly expensive ($8+ for a normal latte), but I guess that's because they charge for your time sitting and working more than the drink itself. The main complaint I have here - and it's a big one - is the bathroom. I walk in on someone using the private bathroom almost every time I'm here, because no one can figure out how to lock it. This includes the cafe employees, who I have also walked in on. Beyond that, the sink doesn't work, and it hasn't worked for weeks now. That's just straight up gross, given that the employees use this bathroom as well. If they simply replaced the bathroom lock with a normal mechanical lock and the faucet with a normal manual faucet, this place would get five stars. read more

I love a new take on a standard drink. At first, I was weary about the blueberry addition to the matcha because those can be sickeningly sweet from the sugary syrups. However, I saw on the menu that they use blueberry puree, so I have it a shot. I am so glad I did bc it was delicious! The blueberry flavor was the lightest hint where you knew it was there, but the matcha was still the star. Perfect proportions. Also, stellar latte artwork, as well! My man got the Persian rosewater iced matcha. Again, I love the new take, but this one was a little too fragrant and floral for my taste. Black Canvas Coffee shop opened recently and is located on the street level of the Garden House building on Wilshire Bl and Stanley, west of La Cienega. Limited street parking only. Black canvas is also located in Hollywood and now here in Beverly Hills. I would come here more frequently but with the street closures and road blocks on Wilshire Bl due to the massive construction project for the Metro makes it inconvenient. This cafe is in a farther area away from Rodeo Drive and needed a cafe. Indoor and outdoor seating and decor of shelved etagere filled with plants, black and white items. It's nice and bright being surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows. The menu has some signature flavor coffee drinks which perked my interest. Have tried the Agave Latte, Honey Latte and espresso all iced and with oat milk all good but not caffeine strong enough, I always add an additional espresso shot. Haven't tried the pastries, but on display are sweet and savory, vegan and gluten free. Service from staff was just ok. I always prefer other coffee shops than a Starbucks. This shop is new, clean and sunshine filled bright, with coffee drinks that will sure perk your interest. read more

That pricing is higher than Alfred, La La Land, and Cha Cha Matcha. It's sad because I just discovered this place and it's right next door to me. I stopped by after a visit to get some X-rays down the street. Buyer beware this place is way too expensive. If you are lactose intolerant, you're screwed. Oat Milk is $1.25. I had the honey latte which was edible. The base price is $8.25. My friend had the blueberry + maple latte for a base price of $8.75. They were not impressed with the blueberry. The service was good but don't ask for food suggestions as most had never eaten there. The food is crazy expensive for what you get. The vibe is whatever. If you can wait, La Columbe, Urth Caffé, and Philz are within 2 miles of this place. And surprisingly will save a buck or three on lattes. I will not be returning. read more

I went here because of their high ratings. Turns out that the matcha is $11.50 and this would normally be okay with me BUT you can barely taste the "ceremonial" matcha. It's simply not quality. It's the worst matcha I've ever tasted and it's the most expensive matcha I've bought. The staff aren't present at the front of the bar and I had to wait for a staff member to take my order. The person asked me if I wanted my matcha to go and didn't offer a lid or straw to me when my order was complete. I don't understand why it's priced so high when they're not meeting their price expectations. Don't recommend this place if you want matcha. read more

Decided to stop by here, the ambiance is very cute! I ordered a smoked salmon bagel, and it was a little pricy ($20) but it was PACKED with everything. So much fish and cream cheese it was delicious, I couldn't even finish the whole thing. 9/10 recommend! Next I ordered a matcha latte, nothing too special, great balance, wish the matcha was a bit stronger 7/10. Unethical, raging, bully owner, avoid at all costs. It was absolutely absurd to see her reaction, which was disproportionate to the context. Honestly have never had such a bad experience at a place where we were regular customers before. The coffee was inconsistent but what has put me off this establishment is the atrociously loud, ungracious, inconsiderate condescending owner of the establishment who felt the need to give me a lecture on what a cappuccino was and what a breve was, when I have had these coffees for over a decade in every hipster coffee shop across various states... even if I didn't you don't demean your customers. So instead of fixing the hideous coffee that I had been served that tasted like a burned cream soup with a shot of espresso in it she served up an unsolicited tirade. She also slighted a new neighborhood coffee shop few blocks to the right of their spot, claiming a barista had been poached from her establishment, and that her shop was at a far superior level, when it clearly is not. I disclosed that the other coffee shop is where we normally grab our coffee. Honestly not worth her patronizing inhospitable attitude to be served mediocre coffee. Now I see why this spot has a 3.6 rating. I rarely send back a breve... but the rare occasions I do it's because something is genuinely off putting about the palate. Instead of taking responsibility and fixing what the concern was she felt the need to pontificate to us. Way to alienate your customers and be unprofessional. We have come here regularly and loved all the employees here until we met her today. This will be our last visit. Awful customer service from the owner is not worth enduring, especially not at my expense. She felt the need to peak at my phone, invading my privacy and make a snide comment about leaving this review as well. Totally put off by her insanely inappropriate, rude and condescending comport. She made us so uncomfortable that we felt we needed to leave but she would not refund us for the food she took back... and decided to hold hostage while asking us to leave. Truly, she should not be in the service business. Intentionally vile customer service requires less than one star. No wonder the barista she mentioned left her establishment and joined another. She wouldn't disclose her name because she could not even assume accountability for her appalling words and actions. Offensive on all accounts. She asked us to call Amex and request a refund because as an unethical irascible merchant who made us pay despite not serving us, she felt the need to go the extra mile to be a terrible human being. Look, this place has tremendous coffee, the place is fantastic and the people are so quality. Slow AF, but great at taking the orders. The rainbow whatever I got was yummy too. But man, if I didn't end up spending $432.76 on two things.... It was definitely something that would not be a regular visit for me, even though I do spend that much elsewhere (ok, it was not truly $433, but you know... like $30 for two things) The interior was minimalistic and thumbs up. Never been to the Hollywood location but saw this one was being built and am excited it's now open! Came here to work for a bit on a Friday morning. Parking is street and metered parking. The shop is very pretty and the coffee is good. Wifi works well and the baristas and cashiers all seem friendly. Pastries are bit pricey in my opinion ($7.50 for a croissant) but it is Beverly Hills so that is expected. read more

I'm 9 months pregnant and I stopped in for a drink and pastry with my mom. The cashier handed me my cinnamon bun and I turned around and I accidentally dropped it right in front of her. A very kind man helped me clean it up since I'm all belly right now and I can't quite get on my hands and knees to clean it up. I was still in line when this happened and I took the broken plate to the cashier and apologized and asked for a new pastry. She said no! I could not believe it. She saw me drop it right in front of her! I could not believe it. I paid almost $10 with tax for this cinnamon bun and she wouldn't even give me another one. I will never come here again.
