I ordered a matcha with honey it was weak as heck I also had the croissant breakfast sandwich it was nothing to brag about. I asked the cashier if there was a restroom and she said "um ah yeah down the hall" failed to give me the code. Cozy, comfortable, and so many delicious choices. Gorgeous pastry window, especially if you're in a rush. Happily, I had time to sit in their inviting dining area and have a great breakfast. My dining companion really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict On Toast (Two poached eggs, roasted poblano hollandaise, roasted tomatoes, avocado, spinach pesto). It certainly looked amazing - and was rated high on the 'Let's find Eggs Benedict whenever possible' chart. My own dish was fantastic and hearty, the Power Rancheros. The menu claims that it contains forty four grams of protein (and that it's GF). Three over-easy eggs over a corn tortilla, black beans, turkey bacon, labneh, pico de gallo, pickled onions, red salsa make for a major meal. The combination of flavors worked so well together, and they even did well on the turkey bacon -- not always a sure thing. The fresh ground coffee is welcome and nicely flavored. It's a great complement to the meal. And yes, I ended up getting a croissant to go. I recommend Parakeet Cafe in Beverly Hills. It's a nice place to have a conversation and have a good meal. read more

I was looking for an afternoon pick me up and preferably a Matcha. We walked along Beverly Drive and came up across this café, which is strangely only a few doors down from a Starbucks. Knowing the taste of a Starbucks Matcha, we decided to check out the menu at Parakeet and I'm glad we did. If you're looking for a ceremonial grade Matcha, this was a delicious place to get a refreshing drink. They offer dairy and non-dairy milk options and the cups are adorable, including the stoppers. The stuff was friendly and the inside of this place has adorable decor. It feels like you're in a Palm Beach Café in the 1960s or 70s. They offer a lot of vegan and gluten-free options for dining, which all looked delicious. I will definitely come back to eat in the future. I see they have a few locations and I hope they will consider building one in the San Fernando Valley in the near future. read more

I came here once last year, and I liked the place, but after returning after a few months, I noticed a difference in the customer service. The ambiance is great like always. We met a very personable, Hector-Who is the manager of this location. He was very welcoming. Quick story - I ordered Green eggs, and when they arrived I felt that they needed a little salt. So I made my way to the counter where the salt and pepper are. It was clearly dumb proof because I opened it and all the salt landed on my food . Very embarrassed. The food was delivered quite quickly and the service was courteous and efficient. I really liked the uniqueness of the Eggs, Benedict. Very flavorful and tasty. Makes me want to return for it! I really love this restaurant but they leave something off of my order every single time. I get the smoked salmon plate as of recently. Last week I ordered greens instead of toast and they gave me only greens and eggs. No salmon, no labneh, no dressing, a few eggs, no asparagus. They've left off the sauces a few times, and today I swapped for gf toast and no avocado and only got salmon and egg with nothing else. Food is good but control issues are super annoying. read more

This is such a great atmosphere. People watching and atmosphere are the most important to me. The interior is bright and colorful, with a lot from outside. I ordered a poke bowl and was delighted with it. It was just enough food: you are sated but not sickened by the portion. The sauce was perfect and it felt so healthy. The waitstaff is good and the cashier really knew their stuff. I would love to return on an afternoon in the rain with wine and take in all the great conversations I was hearing. The second time we came in, he remembered them, which made them feel so special. He guided us through the menu, helped us pick out the best options, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The food speaks for itself (fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done), but it was Alex's service that made the experience stand out. It's rare to find someone who brings that level of care and attention--it completely elevated our visits. We even took some treats to go and are still enjoying them! We were shopping in the area and needed some brunch / lunch and Parakeet Cafe looked fun. Patio options and inside casual dining were available. You order at the front counter and then they bring the plates to your table. I was hoping for French Toast but it was not to be found on the menu unfortunately. I opted for the "Best Burger Ever". While it was good, I wouldn't go so far as calling it best. Also the description said "smash burger" but it is really just a quarter pound style burger with no lettuce and tomato. Smash burgers traditionally are thinner patties (smashed) and have a crispy edge with melty cheese all over - IMO and from my foodie experience. Would be a pass next time. I had a taste of the Eggs Benedict which was awesome. The sauce on top was simply delicious. The croissants were also very delicious and fresh. Which is expected from a bakery. They also have cold brew on tap. A good spot for quick comfort brunch. read more

What a wonderful place with fantastic vegan options. I had their Parakeet bowl. It deserves to be their signature dish. Soooo good! The mushrooms are marinated and roasted with a bit of crunch, the kale is a bit salty but nicely off-set by the naturally sweet carrots. And the overall "icing" is their Almond-miso dressing. I didn't get there names but I was helped first by a younger maybe middle eastern guy who was super nice and helpful when I had questions. Later, a young asian girl stopped by my table a couple times to ask if I needed anything and to take my plates. She was so sweet! I ordered the chai and a snickerdoodle cookie. The chai had decent flavor but I'm not sure if they made it wrong as I asked for it to be made with milk and it tasted nothing but water. It was so light and almost bland, the chai spices would barely come in after drinking it and it lingered in my throat. The cookie was a bit dense and dry, other than the cinnamon topping I didn't get much flavor in the cookie itself, it just tasted like a "plain dough" cookie. read more

Cute boutique cafe serving a variety of beverages (coffee, tea, and smoothies) and my fav brunch favorites. Saw this place pop up on social media a number of times and the vibrant green hollandaise completely captivated my interest and I just had to experience it myself...so naturally I trekked my way over with my favorite taste tester. Thanks to my favorite critic I was able to try a new breakfast dish which I have to say was interesting to the palate in the best way possible. We tried the following two dishes. 1. Eggs Benedict on toast: of course can't rate a brunch place without trying their eggs Benedict. This beautiful dish was well presented with a buttery toast at the bottom topped with a fairly thick spread of what I would describe as a moss green colored spinach pesto (doesn't look real). On top of the pesto spread was a layer of diced tomatoes and avocado slices, two poached eggs, and finally drizzled with a rich layer of a bright, Kelly green colored poblano hollandaise. It was picture perfect. However have to honest I felt the flavor didn't quite reach my expectations. Nevertheless still worth giving it a try. 2. Shakshuka: this was a new dish I tried. Learned it's a popular middle eastern dish that's served in a hot plate made of a chunky tomato sauce/onions/garlic (with slight spice) mixed with feta cheese, two poached eggs, and sprinkled with chili pepper and chive. This dish is served with two slices of bread that you essentially dip into this rich warm masterpiece. Wouldn't mind eating again. Overall a good brunch place. The food presentation was beautiful but the flavor didn't quite meet my expectations. Would still recommend trying if you're in the LA area. read more
