I promise you this is 5+ stars. EVERY TIME. I don't know how I don't already have a review for Urth Caffé in Beverly Hills because this is seriously one of my go-to spots in Los Angeles. I'm always happy here bc it's not only delicious, but everything is such an experience and a total California VIBE which I love. I mean, look at the video of the exquisite sweets. I'm already planning to come back for Thanksgiving pies which I have purchased in years past bc everything they make is so gorgeus AND consistently delicious. I love that the staff is always so nice especially Valeria who is so well versed on the menu and so sweet. I also appreciate the thoughtful touches -- being able to get as much water as you want, enjoying the pretty views, people watching, and having food that is presented so beautifully you almost don't want to eat it! This is one of those places you know will always be good, and it's perfect to bring out-of-town guests for a quick, fun bite. I usually come here for breakfast and love getting a brunch and boba drinks with my twins. It's a special spot. This time I was just grabbing a croissant, and they even gave it to me at a discount bc it was later in the day. That was so kind and completely unnecessary and unexpected, and I really appreciated it. Urth Caffé is easily one of my top 10 favorite places. I just love coming here. Extremely disappointed! Urth cafe should be ashamed of the sanitation and appalling state of the toilets. Indeed I wrote to them as follows on May 6 as follows: "We have visited Urth Caffe several times and I have even given you a 5 star Yelp review. But today was disgusting!!! The toilets were appalling!!!! The men's room was filthy, and not a single paper towel to dry your hands. The women's was even worse with xxxxxx on the toilet seat itself, no seat covers YUK - had we seen this before ordering there is no way that we would have stayed and eaten. ??. How could staff clean their hands before making food. You deserve to be reported to the authorities. Disgusting I will have problems going back for sure. Unforgivable." They called me back the next day and assured me that it would be reported and addressed. This was then confirmed by email the same day: "Dear Brian, Thank you for reaching out to Urth Caffé with your concerns. We appreciate our loyal guests such as your self. I've hit Urth Café in Downtown LA, Santa Monica, Orange, and Hawthorne... so yeah, I'm not "recommend-and-never-go." I actually show up. Today was one of those productive days -- work stuff, a business meeting, then dinner at Urth Caffé Beverly Hills to close it out. This time I went with the lasagna. And I'll be straight: I wasn't blown away the way I was with their salmon eggs benedict (that one still lives rent-free in my head). The lasagna was still good -- warm, comforting, solid -- but the zucchini pieces in there threw me for a second. Not bad... just not what my brain expects when I order lasagna. Classic moment of "maybe I should've actually read what I'm ordering." ‍ The vanilla latte, though? Exactly what I like about Urth -- consistent. Smooth, not burnt, not overly sweet, and that clean espresso taste is there. You can tell they don't treat coffee like an afterthought. The vibe was what you'd expect for Beverly Hills: people chatting, working, meeting up -- it feels busy but still calm. Perfect place to sit, talk, and not get rushed. One real downside: parking. It was annoying. If you're coming here, plan for a little hunt, or be ready to walk a bit (especially at peak hours). Overall: 5 stars. Not every dish is going to be your "favorite of all time," and that's fine -- the consistency, the atmosphere, and the experience still deliver. Urth has been on my list of coffee shops to try for a while now, and super glad that I visited while in BH. Did not expect them to be open on 4th of July, but they were jam packed. However, we managed to grab some seating rather quickly and did not wait much for our coffee. Their Spanish latte is really that good and I highly recommend you consider it when visiting Urth. Service is exceptional and, again, it's very fast and quick. I can't say much about the food because we didn't have a chance to try em out, but I've heard they are really good. Been going here for almost two decades. Always love the food but miss the crab cake. Roast sandwich is always on point. But my dinner tonight is disappointing. They don't wash their tomatoes?! The manager refunded me my sandwich and he was courteous and polite about it. There are few better sights in this world than seeing an Urth Caffe on the map when you are hungover. I woke up after a fun night in West Hollywood and really needed a breakfast sandwich or something to bring me to life. I have had Urth Caffe in other cities and knew I could trust them to deliver. Their website is awesome- my entire party of 10 was able to put in orders individually on our phones that combined in a group order. We were able to pay for our own thing, but then have them all come out as one big takeout order. They also put our respective names on each item. Ordering takeout breakfast for a group of 10 was a BREEZE. Their breakfast sandwich is LIFE. Perfect amount of avo, the egg is so fluffy, lettuce fresh, just everything a girl could want. It has crunch, it has creaminess, it's just so good. I think about it almost every day. Their gluten free bread rises to the occasion and holds it all together, and even stays together if you want to eat the other half later in the day. Incredible. They are generous with sides too! The side salad is amazing and they don't skimp on sides of fruit or avo. They have amazing juices and smoothies too! Wish I lived closer and could make this a regular spot. The Urth Fruit Tarts was prepared well, filling was bland (I expected vanilla or lemon but got nothing) which made plenty of space for the berries to shine but they were just ok, one strawberry on it was yuck (spit out) and crust wasn't buttery. Walking in, the cafe already felt homey. The space was versatile where the outdoor seating was more for quieter conversation and candlelit setting while the inside felt like a chill cafe to chat with friends. My group was able to find a table to get some work done while enjoying a sweet treat. The cheesecake and tiramisu were the size of a personal mini cake, which was a surprise. Tiramisu: I usually prefer a less bread-y tiramisu but the espresso flavor was strong and a bit bread-y. The frosting on top had little taste. Overall, a solid tiramisu cake! 8/10 Oreo cheesecake: A classic New York style cheesecake with oreo filling which is always reliable flavor wise. Although they boasted on the menu that it was the best cheesecake in LA, I found little that was unique about the cake. It was still enjoyable to eat though. 6/10 Churro Delight Croissant Roll: on the menu, the roll was advertised to have ice cream filling, but when we tried it, we got a mouth full of chunky custard instead. The custard tasted a bit earthy. The croissant outer layer had nice texture and flavor. 5/10 Green Tea Rose oatmilk latte: Although I found the rose floral flavor on the surface of my latte art layer to be STRONG, the rest of the matcha was creamy and not too sweet. Unanimously we all agreed that the pizza was the standout dish. The crust had just the right thickness and crunch, the cheese was fresh and flavorful, and the mushrooms added an urthy depth. We also enjoyed having fresh orange juice available, though at $9 it was priced similarly to some lunch items. The pastries were a hit. Patio is out front and it has heat lamps. Recently came by here for the chocolate chip cookie for takeout. They were advertising it for Valentines Day so I had to order it. You can get it with or without nuts. I got mine without. The portion size is generous. It was thick and chewy with some crunch. Lots of chocolate chips and a tasty batter. They have several locations, this is the only one I tried but it was excellent. The coffee is actually amazing and the breakfast items were very good. We had to wait a little bit to even get in as it was very crowded but once we got their service was very fast and we were able to get our food. Unfortunately, the person on the phone did not seem to pay attention to the notes. The restaurant was very cute - a little brick house with a huge outdoor patio space. It was busy with a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. We ordered at the counter and got a number. Luckily, we found a table outside. There was a self-serve water station available outside as well. The service was good. We ordered the Urth Laguna Breakfast and Sunrise Pizza. The food took time to come out, but we expected that due to how busy it was. Both of our meals were delicious! I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes, but the tomato was my favorite thing on my plate. Portion sizes were great. We had some leftovers, and they had to-go boxes next to the water station. Overall, I would recommend and come back to try more of their wide selection of menu items! My guests and I ordered this Spanish latte which was delicious and made to order. We both were striving to keep the sugar content down, yet not have the product come out too bitter. Been to this Urth Caffe multiple times and always has had a good experience! Parking is pretty easy - street parking or you can park in the garage a block away. Every time I've gone it's been pretty busy - so make sure to expect to line up. One thing to improve is the line system, a lot of people get confused on where the line is to order vs where to look at menu, so sometimes a false line occurs at the front when it's just people looking over the menu. But other than that, you place your order at the front and find a table with the number they give you. The employees are all pretty friendly. Sometimes finding a table can be tricky but people usually leave after eating and the employees clear the table quickly. The food and drinks comes out fast. The food is delicious and the dressing they use on the side salad makes eating greens soo yummy. The last time I went, there was a hair in my egg panini & we told one of the employees and they remade the sandwich brought out a new one. I do wish they would have apologized since I everyone else at my table were all done by the time the new sandwich came out.
