I have been trying to find a salon in the Twin Cities area and am super glad I found one. I personally, have been trying to find an Asian hairstylist and was recommended Pa Nhia by a friend. Pa Nhia was so sweet and gave me the exact haircut I was looking for. She went above and beyond what I expected and made sure my haircut fit all my needs. She was so fun to talk to and although it was my first time meeting her, it felt as if she was a friend I knew for years! I also loved how spacious and comfortable this salon was. I am hoping to get a balayage soon, so I will be back very soon and am looking forward to making this my salon for all my hair needs. read more

Went here with my mom for facials a few days ago - the services themselves were nice and enjoyable with just a couple things to note - 1) the masques were very cold when applied (would have been better if they could have been not so chilly) 2) the website says the 60 min has a foot massage which I never received and 3) I would have liked a little more pressure on the massage part (which I would say upfront if I were to ever go again). After this is where it got really unenjoyable. Both of our estheticians put on the hard sell for both coming back for other facials and in trying to sell product. I know this is a common practice after hair or other treatments but for some reason at Estetica it was worse than other places I've been and REALLY tacky. I was told the face cleanser I use (which is recommended by my dermatologist) is worthless and "please change your facial cleanser". The hard and tacky selling was the worst part, but also when we went to checkout the prices were different than we were quoted on the phone. The girl working was helpful and charged what had been quoted. However she said that facials start at $115 but the website says $100...... While the services were good the post service experience (and high prices) would lead us to check out someplace else before going here again. Disappointing. read more

I have been to this salon many times for a variety of services. It has been hit or miss for the past five years! The price is high bc of the locale. But I have to say, Urban Village is superior. My girlfriend got a haircut yesterday by Kylie. It looked like there was not much taken off at all, other than some extremely choppy and shoddy layers. The back of her hair is multiple lengths in a very strange way. Now partially, you have to blame her bc it's 2019, find an amazing stylist. But also, when someone calls to rectify the situation, I would have hoped for better customer service. I felt like I was on the defensive for simply asking for the salon to make it right, and correct the cut by employing someone more experienced to fix. This place tends to be a bit snotty, upper echelon ring a bell? I have lived across from La Grolla for years. I came here out of convenience, and while some services hit the bullseye, many miss the mark. Poor upper management, you can feel the discord between the employees really easily. I certainly don't want to champion ladies who employ others to be mean and act nastily towards guests. The sentiment is lost. Lovely surprise on a Friday evening. Traveling in St Paul and needed a pedicure. They got me in and the service was truly great. I was greeted and offered coffee/tea/water which she made for me. Molle the tech was right on time and knew how to have a genuine, never forced conversation for the entire appointment. Her work was quality as well and she asked me throughout the process if I was happy. She also recommended a restaurant nearby which was perfect for me. And the location is WOW. Started with a conversation about what I wanted done, then Brigid gave me a scalp massage (which felt really relaxing and the product she used smelled really good), and then washed my hair. I've loved this Salon for years but the atmosphere has completely changed. Some employees seem to take COVID-19 seriously and have safe business practices but then you will see people working there without masks. During my hour and 45 minutes I saw one younger girl wearing her mask around the ears but below her face. I also saw the same man 2 different times not wearing one at all, he seemed to be part of management but I hadn't seen him there before. 7 year customer lost for good. read more

We had scheduled a couples massage on a Sunday afternoon. Talk about a stressful situation! We arrived to the location early, and there was NOWHERE to park. We circled around the neighborhood trying to find a place to park and there was nothing. I called the spa to let them know we were trying to park and got hung up on. Had to walk 5 blocks just to get there. We walked in a few minutes early yet, and no one at the front desk would own up to talking to me on the phone and hanging up on me. The massage therapists we had were good, but it was definitely what I would classify a "spa massage". The pressure was consistent but they spent too much time with oils and draping. During the session, it felt very "routine" instead of "intuitive". The room was a bit tight for 2 massage therapists and I often heard them mouthing words to each other or hand signaling which was distracting. The building is pretty cool and the ambiance is wonderful. The front desk was friendly and accommodating upon checking out and charging my card about $180. A return visit? Probably not for a spa-style massage. Maybe for something pampering not offered anywhere else when I have tons of money to blow. read more

Amazing service! I get my hair done here about every 5 weeks or so. I'm always warmly greeted and seated right away. I've never had to wait very long. The first time I went here I wanted my color a certain way and Celia got it perfect the first time. No going back for round 2 like most other places have done with my hair. I'm so happy I found a great salon in the area finally. And they're not overpriced like Juut. I usually get a full color or weave, a haircut, and style and I'm usually spending around $100. The building is very cozy with multiple levels. Parking on the street is fairly decent, never had a problem finding a spot. Truly a great place! read more

Had a fabulous time at Estetica last Sunday for a little Mom/Daughters bonding. The three of us all got pedicures and they were fantastic! I seem to only ever go to the cheapy places to get my toes done, but man is it worth it to pay that much more. You just have such a better experience and feel so much better afterwards! Even though they only had two chairs - I patiently waited while my Mom and Sis got their toes done. I watched the whole thing and was SO excited when it was finally my turn! From the neck wrap to the scents to the amazing foot rub - I was extremely pleased with the service as well as the atmosphere. I swear, it smelled like Mexico in that little room and I do love ceiling fans with the light coming in - it was just perfect! I have only been to Estetica twice, but both times were a great experience. The first time I went was for a haircut and foil. The stylist was friendly, chatty but not too chatty, and most importantly, listened to me carefully and did a great job. I think her name was Delilah. The second time I went I got a brazilian. I don't normally get brazilians, so I was a bit nervous, and the woman could not have been nicer. She made me feel super comfortable in probably one of the most uncomfortable procedures ever invented. I highly recommend it. read more

The wax I got was simply amazing. The environment was very calming. Sam is wonderful at their job and made me feel very comfortable. The problem came when I got my haircut. Kimma didn't listen to me at all and I'm very unhappy with the results. I would not recommend her at all. I spent most of the appointment wanting to cry. read more

I was in need of some relaxation so i decided to check out Estetica for a facial. The building is really cool and the salon itself is spread out in a way where each space has a special flow for each experience. Since i was new to the salon, one of the front desk gals gave me a little tour and introduced me to each space and walked me to the facial area which was quiet and warm. Mikayla, the esthetician was so wonderful. She asked questions about my skin and was able to give me great tips on how to work with my troubled skin. I booked a 90 minute facial with Mikayla and it was everything that i was hoping for. She educated me on products and instead of suggesting i buy multiple items- which after 90 minutes of facial bliss- i would have! She told me to only start with one to make sure my skin doesn't get overwhelmed with new products. I pre-booked my next appointment. I highly suggest Mikayla ! Thank you, Estetica. read more

I'm pretty satisfied with how things went. Parking is troublesome, the City of St. Paul has a ton of "no parking" and "15 minutes only" parking in this area, so be forewarned - arrive at least 15 minutes early to make sure that you can find a place to park. The building itself is beautiful, especially where Estetica is located. We had a couples massage scheduled, but it ended up being two separate massages in two separate rooms (this actually worked out very nicely) so no complaints there. My massage therapist (Samantha) was very quiet throughout the massage, making sure that I was relaxed. My service was outstanding. His massage therapist (Rhiana) talked him through the massage, which helped him to relax. The services are expensive - our massages came to $240 with tip. But they are very much worth it. The level of care that the massage therapists provided is wonderful. We both agree that we will be back. read more

We came from WI to St. Paul for our sons wedding and I needed to have my hair done for the wedding. Hesitant, I have always had one stylist and was reluctant to try someone else in MN. I selected Estetica. Friday I went for a consultation with Megan. She took so much time with me to really find out the best look for me and what was my vision for the wedding. After listening to me and talking through some ideas with me, I was so impressed I asked her if we could have more time and she could also do my hair for that evening. She said yes! I was so happy she could do that. Not only did she do my hair for the rehearsal dinner, but she did it completely different for the wedding day. Both days I had non-stop compliments. I was so appreciative that she took the time to really see what was best for me. The real plus was that she actually taught me how I could do much of it myself if I had the proper combs, etc. I loved not feeling rushed, her really tuning in to what I was hoping for with my hair and that she taught me something new and fun I can now do at home with my hair. I have been going to Estetica Salon for 3 years, and I couldn't be happier. They answer the phone on the first or second ring, customer service is great, and my stylists are top notch. For hair I see Kelly and for brows I see Anne Marie. AM was voted best brow waxer in the twin cities by the City Pages, and I always feel pampered and relaxed when I leave. Kelly has a great instinct with hair, and together we've created some great highlights that I've never seen on anyone else. I was getting hair extensions put in and the stylist thought I should have a certain color and length which I disagreed with. So I got the color and length I wanted and was so happy with them until it came time to get the extensions replaced. I simply said order some more, and wouldn't you know she ordered the length and color she first thought I should have, not what I asked for or wanted. So said that the hair doesn't look long enough, and is too light and she tried to lie and say it was the same thing. I didn't confront her but when I got home I had an old extension that had fallen out and cried, because I knew she was forcing me into a style and color I didn't want. I don't understand why people can't have what they think looks good and not the stylist? Especially the money and year commitment! Thankfully I didn't have to bring a small claims against them as they eventually refunded me. But too bad, they seem nice, it was probably a simple mistake but I'm not going to have this hairstyle I hate for a year. read more

I have lived in the cities for over 5 years and have been searching for a "home" salon. My sister in law recommended Estetica. I booked an appointment with Ashlyn, one of their new stylists. I'm always a little leery about going with someone so new to the floor, but walked away impressed. This is the best cut/color I've received in years, and at a great price. I have very thick hair (she had to re-mix color three times!) but she was very thorough and I never felt like she was rushing. It was one of the longer consultations I've had, which I definitely appreciated. She took the time to understand how I typically wear my hair and what I've disliked about previous haircuts. We decided on a few (on the longer side) face framing layers and taking out the bulk in the back, as well as eliminating the angle it had been cut at to even it out. The color is a rich, beautiful dark brown. She achieved the color I had in my head, which is hard to do! I know she won't be at the "new talent" rates for long, but after the experience I had I will not hesitate to book with her as long as she's at Estetica. Thank you!! read more

I spent years getting my hair light enough so that I wouldn't have to bleach it at once, as that hurts and takes a long time and destroys your hair. I did this so i could go a pastel color without ruining my hair. I went in and asked for a very light blue. Elena agreed and said it may turn out a slightly different because I had some dimension in my hair. What I ended up with was a royal, dark, ridiculously bright blue on the top. She also missed multiple, very obvious spots that ended up being left white. It's genuinely the worst hair color I've ever had. She didn't say anything as I was walking away and i didn't say anything untill I got out to the car. I called them back and they offered to get me in for a touch up. I went back in and they tryed to color lift the hair which didn't work and made my hair look splotchy and uncared for. So they tryed to dye over it with a different color which only succeeded in dying my roots and giving me hot roots. Finally they said they couldn't do anything else and it wouldn't be fixed. they gave me a refund but the girl kept her tip. What they didnt compensate for is my wasted time, money, and ruined hair. It will cost me more to fix it then it did in the first place. I'm now stuck with splotchy, half assed ruined hair. read more

I've been seeing Annie at Estetica for around 5 years (minus that time she ran off to California for a few months). Estetica is fantastic- clean, bright, cool space and I feel like I'm being pampered from the moment I walk in- but I will follow Annie always (if feasible- though I did think about following her to Cali). She's amazing! I feel so comfortable in her chair, and she's easy to talk to. I've stopped coming with pictures and sometimes even a vision because she does my hair better than any picture I could bring in. read more

The staff is very good, but it is hardly worth the price and is most definitely NOT a spa experience. There is no BATHROOM, nothing to drink except tap water, and you can tell by the turnover in staff that it can't be a very nice place to work. The services are provided by wonderful people, but why is there always five or six of the young lovelies hanging around the check in desk doing nothing? I have been going there for six years, live very nearby, but I am looking for a new salon. The prices are outrages for an average level salon, which is what it is. NO BATHROOM? Estetica Salon, although appearing to be an oasis of relaxation, provided me with the worst salon experience I've had in my life. I've lived relatively close for many years. I always enjoyed walking by, looking in, wondering what it would be like to be pampered and appreciated. Recently I took my sister there because she needed some pampering and, while I was there, thought I would experience my first manicure. Well, it WAS an experience - a bad one. The technician upon introducing herself, was obviously expecting a supermodel because when she walked in and realized who her client was her smile drooped and her bubbly demeanor retracted into the shallow pool she calls herself. The whole time she did my nails she refused to initiate any conversation and when I attempted gave me one word answers. She also seemed to have, at hand, total control of the music. There were some technical difficulties with the audio that afternoon and she became so focused on the system's inability to play her Colby Callait selection that I was all but forgotten. She even left the room for an extended period of time trying to figure out how to get her music right. When everything was said and done I felt out of place and tense. The clear polish I received flaked off the next day. Other staff also appeared to believe being in the salon was about them and their needs rather than the patrons paying good money for half-assed service. Some were dancing amongst those getting their hairs cut while others parked their butts out on the bench in the hallway and gossiped...for long periods of time. I realize the need to have fun and down-time but too much gives a poor appearance of the business. It lived up to this portrayal. The front desk staff were wonderful and were welcoming. The design of the space is also very cool. But, needless to say I will never go back. read more
