The entire Esthetica staff and the services they performed have been a life changer for me both personally and professionally!! I highly encourage any US military service member who is struggling to get within height/weight/body fat percentage standards to give Kim a call and set up a consultation for liposuction. I'm a US military service member and have had trouble getting myself within height/standards, which I've never struggled with during the 17 years I've been a member!! I score well in the fitness tests but with the recent onset of a few medical problems and a slower metabolism that comes with age I just couldn't get those few pounds/inches off. I researched a few cosmetic centers in the area and sent them emails but Kim from Esthetica was the only that called me that day. (The others called days later). I explained to her my professional situation and was hoping Esthetica could help but I was concerned about the cost. I met with Kim and Dr. Kouli, who has a great sense of humor and is very patient as well, and that day we set a date to have liposuction on my abdomen and flanks. The day before my surgery I had my pre-op meeting with Susan, an RN who was very sweet and patient with me as well as I asked her several questions as well. The surgery went well. My post-op follow ups with Dr. Kouli and Susan were awesome. Even though there was a lot of swelling and bruising they were very supportive and encouraging while reminding me the ideal results will come. I was offered a complimentary ultrasound massage to help quicken the 'smoothing out of the lumps'. This is where i met with the technician, June. She's been performing this service for several years and was actually one of the pioneers of this particular process. Fast forward 8 months and one cannot deny the results! Even though there are still a few small lumps that will continue to diminish, I look slim, contoured, and I absolutely love the results. Most Importantly, because a total of 5 1/2 inches was removed I know I will never be out of standards and I will take that peace of mind all the way to retirement!! Breast Augmentation Review: My first consultation was at a different establishment in La Jolla and it had left a bad impression on my search for my doctor. I felt like I was not apart of the decision making process and was told I would not get what I wanted. I searched a bit more and found the wonderful Dr. Kouli on Realself.com. During my initial consultation, Dr. Kouli made me feel extremely comfortable and was honest in his approach. He said to me that he would be able to give me beautiful full breasts. He made sure I didn't have unrealistic expectations, but could get me what I had envisioned. This made me feel more at ease and more confident in moving forward. Surgery day was a breeze. Megan wasn't in the office yet, but Julie helped me get comfortable and walked me through what Dr. Kouli and the staff would be doing. I remember the operating table was cozy and warm, they even had a leg compression machine (to help circulation of blood flow I'm sure, but it still felt nice). I remember as they put in the anesthesia I was out once I said "wow that does work quick." I don't really remember that day, but I did exactly what Dr. Kouli and the nurses instructed (rest once I got home, eat when hungry, and walk around so that I don't get stiff). I was surprised when I was told I could shower the next day. Dr.Kouli saw me the day after surgery to make sure everything was good and I remember how excited he was, at how everything was looking great. The staff recommended I used ice the first day or two and then switch to heat to help with pain and swelling. My recovery was much better than I expected. I read a ton of breast augmentation reviews and almost everyone said how hard it was initially, how much pain they were in and so on and so forth. I wasn't in too much pain as I kept on top of it, I didn't even use half of my pain prescription. I don't feel like I had it that bad at all. I was able to bring my arms up the next day and was mobile. I think the most difficult part was not trying to do everything myself and allowing myself rest. A great experience from Dr. Kouli and all of his staff! I was in a very time sensitive situation where I needed to have liposuction. I called up Esthetica and scheduled a consultation, not knowing really much of anything about liposuction. I didn't have to wait long to get an appointment scheduled. Once I arrived, I met with Meghan who had me fill out some paperwork to get me started. I explained what I wanted and she was more than helpful. From the moment I met Dr. Kouli, my stress levels dropped dramatically. This was the first time I have ever gone in for something like this and his caring personality and the professional atmosphere made me very comfortable. He answered all of my questions and even worked with me to get a great price for what I needed. I chose liposuction on the abdominal and flanks. The problem was scheduling on my end. He and his staff were nothing short of amazing. They did everything they could to work with me to get me into surgery as soon as possible. They even scheduled me for two different dates in case one date didn't work for me. Once I had the surgery, I met with him a week after post-op and then again at my three week. I was swollen pretty badly the first week and needed to get my swelling down as much as possible, as soon as possible. He referred me to June from his Del Mar office who specializes in Ultrasound massage. I called the Del Mar office to schedule an appt with June. From the start I did a lot of researching on liposuction, recovery, etc. I had so many questions for her. She even called me on her day off to answer any questions I had. Talk about going the extra step! From the first time I met her, she told me exactly how much swelling she could get down in the time I needed. She estimated I could get down about 2 inches, where actually she got me down 3 and a half! If you undergo lipo, I highly suggest you see June! She's amazing and makes your experience so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Her professionalism is nothing short of outstanding. After hearing some good news, the staff at Esthetica congratulated me with smiles and hugs. First off, I was very reluctant to have a liposuction procedure. I have been unhappy with my midsection for years. No amount of exercise or abs work would get rid of the fat. Finally, I started an extensive search in San Diego to solve my problem. I talked to quite a few surgeons; some were fast talking and some didn't want to spend much time with me to help me make this important decision. My experience at the Esthetica Center for Cosmetic Surgery was wonderful from beginning to end. The front office staff in both their locations (Coronado and Del Mar) are very friendly and they helped to put me at ease. I have never had a surgery in my life and I was worried about the anesthesia as well as the procedure. In my consultation with Dr. Wael Kouli, he was very informative. He explained what he could do for me and talked me through the procedure. He took his time with me and that took away my fears. After thinking about it, I decided to use Dr. Kouli over the rest on my list and I am so pleased. Dr. Kouli recommended heat treatments at his Del Mar location to accelerate the healing and reduce the swelling. At first, I was unsure but I had the treatments and it made me heal quickly and I have to say they felt so good. My initial results were great but I wanted to wait 3 months before I wrote this review. My final results are fantastic; my beer belly is gone and so are my love handles. As someone who has had a couple of cosmetic procedures with other doctors, I have to say I am a bit picky when it comes to who I choose. I tend to do an immense amount of research on the procedure, the results I want, and the doctors prior to the first appointment. For my first procedure with Dr. Kouli, I opted for buccal fat removal. From my first meeting, I was sold. Dr. Kouli is kind, analytical, and down to earth. The entire staff makes you feel so welcome and comfortable it really was a relaxing experience. I came back about 6 months later for a round 2 BBL. After having a rather rushed assembly line experience in Miami for my first one, I was looking for a comfortable, highly skilled surgeon to really take my body to the next level. Given my fantastic first procedure, I knew Kouli was the one for the job. Here is where I shout from the rooftops that Dr. Kouli is THE GUY to see for Lipo and BBL's. The surgery itself was absolutely perfect. The operating bed was warm (which if you get cold as I do - much appreciated). Then the recovery was a breeze. They were patient with me and made sure I didn't feel a thing. My results are just next level. This was not my first lipo rodeo and let me tell you, I refuse to see anyone else for any future lipo. I was on the hunt for a GREAT plastic surgeon that could create the image I wanted for myself as good as I'd imagined it in my mind for years and Esthetica of San Diego (Coronado Office) delivered all of it and more! Dr. Kouli has been an excellent doctor to me! I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found a great doctor who is honest and is not trying to just sell you something that isn't needed. After having two babies my breasts took a toll and they'd never look the same unless plastic surgery was done. I went from a size D to a DD during pregnancy and the collapsed to a saggy size B. I couldn't believe how bad my poor boobs looked. That's when my husband decided to call Esthetica of San Diego to set up an appointment for a consultation. Over the phone we were treated wonderfully and they managed to see us that very same day! Kim examined me and suggested what needed to be done as well as a good size of implant that'd fit my body frame. When I was 35, I got breast augmentation surgery from a cosmetic surgery center in San Diego. When I was 45, one of my saline implants ruptured leaving me extremely lop sided making all my clothing fit very awkwardly. I called in to see Dr. Splinter and found he had sold his practice. So i changed my appointment to a consultation. Dr. Kouli was the same personality as Dr Splinter. We talked about my concerns, what I was thinking of having done. He was able to give me some options. Instead of a face lift with eye lids lifted I chose the mini lift with cheekbone filler to lift those smile lines that look like frowns or jowls. Instead of an eye lift he did this cool thing from inside my eyelid that didn't even hurt and left only the tinyest mark. Hubby says no one would ever know if I didn't point it out. Cheeks are lifted, eyes gave no wrinkles and lipo on my tummy gave me what I was hoping for and better. Flat tummy!!! Curved waist without folds. Shaped like a curvy woman without the yuk. So happy! I am 45 years old and have spent most of my adult years working hard putting in the long hours in order to enjoy the American dream. I had what's called a "blepharoplasty" eylid surgery at the office in Del Mar that went very well, so a couple of years later, went for a "deep plane lower facelift" at age 65. Dr, Kouli suggested chin and neck lipo, lip lift, fat transfer and buccal fat removal in one surgery to regain a more youthful appearance. Recovery is a full 3-6 months because the changes are so positively transformative. Even before the 6 month mark, I can tell you my necklines disappeared, I got my chin back, more jawline definition, and I'd say a 15 year rewind in appearance. I had seen Dr. Splinter for a couple years just for Botox in my forehead, and we often discussed my future needs.
