I travel from San Diego to get my brows done by Cristina! If that's not a good review, I don't know what is. I have been seeing her since she was in her Westwood place back in 2012/2013. She is so kind, accommodating, and understanding with all of her services. You can tell the pride she takes in her work: not just from her personality but also her drive to stay up to date with the best products and best procedures. Every time I get my brows done by her, everyone compliments me. This most recent time was before a wedding and the makeup artist was in awe of Cristina's work. The logistics of my brow waxing: she has a beautiful studio with its own parking spot for customers. She waves at you from her balcony and directs you to walk up the stairs. She has a salon chair for brows and a beautiful divided space for what I'm assuming are other waxes, facials, etc. Cristina preps the brows, waxes them (no pain for me this last time! I'm usually a crier and no tears!) tidies them up with tweezers, has you check, and then puts after care on them. And if you want more or less of product, she'll do what makes you happy! Cristina has never pressured me to have a certain look, and I love that she has beautiful full brows because I like my brows that way too. I'm finally writing an update regarding Cristina's facial services and let me tell you I was GLOWING. Cristina is a goddess. I did the custom facial- she first assessed my skin to see what she needed to do for me, then got to work. She put the steamer on my face, let my pores open up and then began using cleansers, a peel, and did the extractions. I got compliments on my skin for days! And then I went back to take my mom a few months later. I feel so relaxed during the facials-- the soothing music, beautiful scented diffuser, and her soft tone almost make me fall asleep during my appointments. And I am still coming here consistently for my eyebrows! I drive an hour to get to her, but I wouldn't trust anyone else with my brows. Cristina is by far the best, most reliable, and consistent brow artist ever. It also helps that she's the sweetest soul and is so enjoyable that time goes by so fast whenever I have an appointment with her, even though she allocates plenty of time for every single one of her clients. I have never felt like a single appointment was rushed at all, and you can see that in her work. The first time I went to her (almost five years ago) she cleaned up the strays, and when she got into the actual shaping of the brows, she had me hold a mirror and hold it up between every single hair she plucked until I had my perfect brow shape. She doesn't have a "signature brow" that some people give every one of their clients, she truly is an artist that has vision and works with your natural brow shape, your features, and your preferences. She takes her time and makes sure you are always genuinely happy before walking out of her studio. Secondly, I mentioned that I have been coming to Cristina for almost five years now and the important thing with that is CONSISTENCY. So so so important but sadly very rare, so Cristina is truly one of a kind. I don't live in Los Angeles anymore, but I'll fly in just to see Cristina. I've looked for estheticians with the same skill at waxing and found many who perform reasonably well, but none of them come close to Cristina in skill and talent. She gets every hair, can shape the most wayward brows and soothe the most outbreak-prone skin. She refines the body into gold. Cristina got to know my skin so well, she knew when I started indulging myself with someone new. Close contact with other faces during a make-out session impacts our skin flora, and an esthetician worth their salt is able to read that tell-tale breakout. This might be more of a bug than a feature for those of you worried about romantic opsec, but rest assured: Cristina is very discreet. If you're an introvert and worry about having to talk to someone you don't know (and who happens to be staring intently at your vulva or extracting blemishes from your face), you'll appreciate Cristina's modus operandi. She tells you about the process as she works, explaining the kind of wax she uses, the various steps of a facial, and all kinds of information about your own skin and its needs -- you don't have to say a thing. (You should not have to perform being interesting during personal grooming!) For years I thought that Cristina used some kind of anesthetic lotion because of how little it hurt to wax even after long periods of exploring other forms of hair-removal -- but, as it turns out, she doesn't. She just knows how to remove hair from all kinds of delicate places without causing pain. I've never had an ingrown hair in the four years I've been seeing her. Cristina uses a wax that requires a little bit of hair growth before waxing can occur. If this isn't a problem for you, I strongly recommend her. Just the same, do not, under any circumstances, have sex, work out, exfoliate the vulva, or do another activity that may irritate the skin immediately after a wax. I saw Cristina for a Brazilian. First, it was a walk-in appointment and she was about to start her lunch. I offered to wait, but she insisted on seeing me right away. Couldn't ask for better service. Second, I usually take some ibuprofen before Brazilians because I'm a big wuss. I was out of town today and didn't get the chance, so I was afraid that it was going to be painful. I don't know if it was that special powder she put on the area first, or the wax, or just because she was good at it, but it barely hurt *at all* despite the lack of drugs. I must say that for my first brazilian, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If it is possible to have a good experience with waxing, XO studios will do it for you! I've had both Christina and Tracy do the job, and I think both have their perks. Christina is a bit more talkative I think and she's really good at keeping your mind off of the whole waxing thing going on down there. She's also very thorough and removed everything without leaving any strays. Tracy used a slightly different kind of wax when I had her, which was not hot or painful at all. It was amazing! But she wasn't quite as thorough as Christina, but that was ok cuz it was an entirely pain-free experience, believe it or not! I was in shock almost about that! They are very sanitary and use all disposable products. They are also very efficient and quick, and the price is reasonable for the quality of service they offer. I have also had my eyelashes tinted by them, and it was a fun experience too. I recommend them for all your waxing needs! What I had done Brazillian Eyebrow Wax Under arm All of it is great and came out to be 80 even with a 20% discount for mentioning yelp and it was my first time. She is very meticulous and thorough at anything she does and she gives the best "eyebrow groom" and tint EVER!
