The interior of the spa was very cute and simple, making it really inviting as I waited for my appointment time. All of the workers wore face masks and seemed like they kept their space COVID safe. This place is great! As a guy who waxes his eyebrows, it's a bit unnerving to try new places. I'm always afraid of walking out looking like the newest cast member of the Jersey Shore, but I have to say that was furthest from my experience here. I ventured in today to treat myself to a little love at Saving Faces. Best gift to myself I have had in a while. I had a Groupon for a facial, foot scrub and glass of champagne and I was certainly in for a treat. The facility was very clean and welcoming and the minute I arrived, I was welcomed and asked if I needed anything. The space is cool, its a house that has been converted into a skin service unit but it is very professional. Despite this it has a homey feel. This may be due to the fact that they have an adorable pug who lives in and can even be requested for some puppy cuddle time while you have your face pampered. My facial was thorough and very relaxing. My person was Shawna who was really nice and answered all my first timer questions, and I felt very comfortable. I just experienced my first facial with Shawna and it was fantastic! I am Asian and have skin prone to sun spots and dryness so wanted to try microdermabrasion for the first time. I can't believe how much brighter and lighter my skin was after just one treatment. I got the 60 minute Glow Time facial and the products, the extraction, and the relaxing massaging was such a wonderful combination. And her treatment bed was so comfortable, I felt like I was lying on a cloud! Shawna was also so knowledgeable about products and was able to tell me how to optimize what I am already using at home as well recommend a couple of new products for my hyper-pigmentation and dryness. I've been going to Brentwood and Culver City for my Brazilian waxes and eyebrow-eyelash tints in rush hour traffic for awhile now, and decided to see what was in my 'hood in Marina del Rey. I found this little gem of a place on Yelp, with such great reviews and comparable prices, so I decided to give it a try. My appointment was at 3:15 PM, so I walked the block-and-a-half to the salon, leaving at 3 PM, and getting there early. I was given a friendly greeting, and led to a very calm and comfortable place to wait for my appointment. Since it was my first visit, they asked me to fill out a form about myself, which I did. At 3:15 PM, Jenny came to get me, and escorted me to a very quiet, comfy back room for the wax and tints. There was soft music and the room also smelled great! By 3:45 PM, Jenny was finished with my three services. I paid and tipped, and left, and got home before 4 PM. All of that took less than 1 hour! I love the waxing job she did. She made it as painless as possible, although I have been getting them for several years now. My eyebrows also look AMAZING - she did one of the best jobs on my eyebrow tint that I've ever had. I've come in a few times for extractions to prep my skin to be it's best before my wedding in February, and Christine is gentle yet effective (like another Yelp reviewer shared). Jenny is wonderful! I am an African-American woman whose had acne and scarring all her life. Since moving to L.A., I have been on a search to find an esthetician who can handle ethnic skin. I had heard that micro-dermabrasions worked MAGIC, but was always told years earlier that it was not made for my skin since women of color tend to keloid and scar easier. It took a long, long time, but I think I've finally found my "facial place" in Los Angeles! I can't sing Saving Faces enough praises. A few weeks back, my turbulent skin was undergoing yet another rough ride, and I decided to seek help. My skin tends to be either very under control, or really broken out, with no in between. I've found that high stress levels, a poor diet, and forgetting to wash my face at night are all factors that provoke my acne. Lately, I've had all of the above (ouch). I can't even remember the last time my skin looked so bad. I usually have pretty negative experiences with facials, meaning, they simultaneously do nothing for me/my skin, and make it look even worse for a day or two. I always keep telling myself to give up on them, but I'll end up getting a bout of acne, finding a new place with glowing Yelp reviews, and thinking, "Okay, maybe this will be the place for me!" Unfortunately, most people don't know what a good facial is, or I just must have the most stubborn skin ever. I've literally been to dozens of places for facials, and hardly any of them did any good, and/or were incredibly overpriced (excluding a day spa in Maui). But then I found this gem of a salon, and I'm definitely going to be a new regular. I squeezed in an appointment with Mary Alice in the late afternoon a few weeks back. She was a total sweetheart, for starters. I explained what was up with my face, and added that most lactic acid peels and things of that ilk tend to irritate my sensitive skin. She ran me through a brief game plan, and we began. She dolled up my skin with the most amazing smelling products (my particular favorite was a warm honey mask) and extracted well - my skin looked great after, which (according to my skin research) is what's supposed to be the case - if you're super red, they're doing it wrong. My skin was glowing soft and my acne went away within a few days. In short, the facial did its job beautifully, and the pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend this salon and Mary Alice if you need a good facial. Trust me, I know my stuff! read more

Love this place! I first discovered it through a LivingSocial deal and am so glad I decided to check it out! It's a small place, serene, very clean, airy, and open. I've visited with both Jenny and Shawna for peels/ facials and LOVE them both. So personable, friendly, warm - you feel really comfortable from the start. Chatty in the beginning but quiet once you begin - very relaxing. You get alone time under the steam and an amazing neck/upper arm massage while your treatment does its work. Most importantly - the treatments themselves. I have oily, problem skin and I've gotten facials elsewhere - no one else really digs in with those extractions and clears up my face like this place. I never have to wait more than five minutes, even on a busy Saturday. I have gone to Jenny for several facials and microdermabrasion and am never disappointed. My face always looks fantastic and feels like a baby's butt. Best bikini wax I've ever gotten, bar none. I have seen Jen for facials now and again over the past few years and have always been happy with them. Recently I decided to get a little grooming done on another part of my body and was happy to find out Jen has skills in that department too! She was fast, thorough, and relatively painless (in comparison to some other dominatrix-like waxers I've been serviced by). Earlier this year, I was placed on oral medication for my acne which then caused me to gain a serious amount of weight. I stopped taking the medicine and discovered Saving Faces. I've seen Jenny only two times ...but both times I left feeling not only thoroughly relaxed, but my skin feels great! Feeling good about my skin has seldom happened. I found this place through a groupon and I am so happy to say that for once, Groupon did not disappoint! The salon is located on busy Washington but there was plenty of free street parking on Oxford st. The overall atmosphere of the salon is very inviting, warm and tranquil. You are immediately greeted with a smile by the receptionist and brought into a nice comfortable waiting area. They offer tea and water. Look through the photo book, "Old Dogs." It will make you smile, cry, and laugh at the same time. I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Alice who was radiating with great energy. She ended up waxing my legs. We talked like old friends and the treatment was pain free. You can immediately tell that she's a great person who is very caring and nurturing. I heard that she gives amazing facials. One of the better facial places on the westside for sure! I had a facial with Jenny and she appeared quite knowledgeable and warm during my visit. The place is nicely decorated with a bright yet peaceful wibe. Parking was available for free on the street (weekday afternoon). The facial was good, she used dermalogica products and truly made me feel fresh and relaxed after the procedure. She performed extractions well (not too painful) and also did a neck and shoulder massage. Only suggestion I could offer for improvement: It would be nice if you could inform the clients what you are about to do (especially before using noisy and tingly machine equipments) so we are not startled. Also, I was left alone for longer than stated during the steaming. Overall, I had a good experience and will recommend to try this place. I went to Saving Faces to see Tonia for deep tissue massage. She is absolutely stellar! She intuititvely knows exactly what your body needs and always checks in with you to see what you need, if pressure is OK, etc. etc. I always end up leaving 90 min sessions with her in a complete state of relaxation (almost a daze! - she's just so good).
