Cristina is the best. I am so glad to have found a great esthetician in Westwood. My brows are notoriously tricky - they need trimming more than anything else, and they tend to grow in paradoxical and confusing directions. Cristina GETS how to trim my brows, which means I don't have to travel back to the OC anymore to get them shaped. My problem with people in the past is that they've shaped my brows into a nice, appealing shape - THAT DOES NOT FIT MY FACE! I really feel like Cristina does everyone's eyebrows differently, which is GOOD because that means she is paying attention to how they make YOU look, not how they look on you. I honestly am happy keeping as much of my brows as possible as long as they are shaped nicely, and she helps me keep them neat and organized while I try to grow them in! She has beautiful, full eyebrows herself so we definitely agree on that point. I also have started to let her tint my eyebrows and MY GOD. It looks so good! I fill in my eyebrows, but it takes me a while to make them look natural and her tinting is SO much better. I was kind of stunned by my big, new, brows at first but I got a lot of compliments. I just wished it lasted longer for the price - but I am not that great at washing around my eyebrows so it's partly my fault. She also takes appointments and communicates by TEXT if you prefer. I started going to Cristina back when she was working at Benefit and I've followed her to her new place in Westwood. She's amazing. I never let anyone wax my eyebrows before because I'm so particular. I didn't realize what I was missing--Cristina does such a great job. My face looks prettier and more polished, but my brows are such a natural shape that you wouldn't know I get them done. That's what I love about Cristina--she actually listens to what I want. As for bikini waxes, I've been to so many people I couldn't list them. I've gone to expensive salons and the cheap places on Westwood Blvd. Cristina is by far the best. She never leaves any strays and she uses some special kind of wax or technique that doesn't hurt. I couldn't imagine using anyone else now! I haven't gotten a facial from her yet, but I have been using the products she recommended for my skin. They've helped my problem skin clear up and nearly eliminated shine and dry skin. Had a complete Brazilian wax w. Cristina. I was very happy that everything was sanitary and disposible- so important! I was a bit nervous bc I saw the wax she was using was a clear wax which from previous experience tends to break some hair bc the wax is hard. That wasn't the case. She put a oil or something on my skin so the wax wouldn't stick to it. She was very meticulous and held a convo with me. I'm always nervous and end up telling the waxier my life story in 20 min. She was very nice and kept me calm. The wax was well done and results lasted quite a long time. I've been wanting to try waxing my eyebrows for a while now so I started looking around the UCLA area for a good place since I live nearby. Found this place and Yelp and decided to give it a try! Location: just for reference because I was confused at first, Esthetix is located inside a place called Phenix Salon Suites which is like a building with about 27 shops inside all offering various services so when you're trying to find this place, just look for the Phenix Salon Suites sign and go in-there will be a map telling you the locations of all the stores inside. It's perfect walking distance from campus or there's validated parking across the street near Trader Joe's. Service: I got my eyebrows waxed and with the 20% student discount it came to be $16. It was SUCH a great experience I was a little nervous in two ways: that it would hurt and that my eyebrows may not turn out great. Well, Christina was SO great in these areas. She tells you what she wants to do with your eyebrows and you can even ask her questions or discuss certain shapes you want to achieve with your brows. The waxing is almost painless-it just feels like someone is lightly pinching your eyebrows. I have a low pain tolerance and even I thought it didn't hurt at all. Cristina is amazing! I needed a brow shaping and tinting but I needed someone who wasn't just gonna slap on the wax and yank -- i really wanted someone who'd be gentle with my skin, and also affordable. Cristina was both! The brow shaping took maybe 4 minutes tops and my brows were barely red at all!! For the tinting, she started off VERY light and then since I wanted them a bit darker, she took the time to darken in small increments for me so that I could get the perfect shade. I've already recommended my roommates to her, and I will be recommending all of my friends to her from now on. I've never done the yelp thing but I felt this was necessary because I got confused when I was using her iphone credit card swipe thingie and wasn't able to give her a tip (of all the people who've done my brows she deserved the biggest tip!).
