I "heart" this place. Had the huevos rancheros. Got 'em over medium instead of sunny-side up. Really good, fresh tasting stuff. Came with a side of refried beans. Very light and again fresh tasting. Also had a ginger ale since it was lunchtime and it was some sort of house made or private label stuff. Very tasty. Bright, clean, friendly, and the price was right. This is an update from a review for I made on Estrella's Cafe a couple of years age. You need to know that this is so much more than a Mexican restaurant. Now, not only is it the best place in the county for breakfast and still wonderful for lunch, but they are serving dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Dinner specials come with soup or salad, entree with two large side and dessert all at a most reasonable price. I have introduced several friends to Estrella's for their dinners and every one of them has been as impressed as I am. I love their salmons stuffed with goat cheese and spinach topped with a lemon dill sauce, and their honey mustard topped salmon is also a favorite. Neither of these are on their menu but they will gladly make it for you on request as a dinner special. You must try this place. You will thank me as my friends have. read more

I was in a hurry and used my GPS to find the nearest diner. Estrellas is where I landed. When I went into the restaurant just after lunch time, there was one person sitting at the bar, a bartender and one server. I was greeted promptly and was served my drink right away. It took more than 15 minutes for the server to come back and take my order. I had a Philly Cheese Steak wrap and a salad. The food came out promptly. The salad was fresh and crisp with a nice assortment of greens. The wrap was really lacking. While the meat, peppers and onions were done nicely, the cheese was awful. It was cold american cheese just slapped on the top of the meat mixture.Had the integrated the cheese properly, it would have been a good sandwich. read more

We came here for breakfast, based on the reviews. The reviews do not match our experience. The most redeeming feature of this restaurant was the friendly waitress. Sunday morning and the power went out in my home. So, off we went for Sunday breakfast. This place is a keeper! The service and staff were excellent. The place is immaculate. I didn't get anything fancy, just a bacon, egg and cheese in a roll, but the tell tale sign was...excellent, crispy, high quality bacon. I may never cook a Sunday breakfast again! I try not to write reviews if I've only eaten someplace once, but I realize that after we went here, we just kept talking about Estrella's and how we needed to go back! A very diverse menu, and so much fun to be able to get a Mexican breakfast, but also wanting pancakes on the side, or anything breakfast related, really...Reasonably priced and Great /friendly service too, every time you look around someone is smiling at you, or offering to help in some way. What always keeps me coming back to places is their ability to offer decent food, but most importantly a friendly atmosphere where the servers, owners, and managers are eager to please their patrons. Excellent find tucked away close to the Nanuet Mall. We decided to give it a try based on its Yelp rating - we were not disappointed. My son and I both had the 3 eggs with corned beef hash. They were completely flexible on how we wanted our eggs. My son had over medium and I had an omelette with cheese and onions. My wife had the beef tacos and substituted chips and salsa for the beans and rice. She thought the tacos were spot on and the chips and salsa were definitely tasty. Her whole meal was $5. It was well worth $5. My daughter had the gyro with fries and Greek salad. She loved it. The gyro was huge. Overall a very nice experience. The staff was super friendly and visited the table often to refill drinks. read more

I've been here, not enough times. What I mean is, I don't get out for breakfast or lunch much, but the few times I've been here for breakfast have been real solid. Estrella (I'm guessing) runs the place and commutes down from Orange County, I believe, 7 days a week to run this restaurant. She makes everything herself, and trying different things out here is the way to go. The standard breakfast items are good too, but it's fun to try some things you wouldn't normally see elsewhere. This is a local [NON-Franchise] place that I hope makes it because in this day and age, with Franchise restaurants everywhere, it's nice to get the local flair instead. read more
