Noonan's consistently provide great pub grub but you may be surprised at their daily specials, so try them. During our past few visits we have sampled seasonal offerings and specials and were delighted with our selections. Portions are large so there's plenty for sharing or leftovers. Staff are extremely friendly and you can choose from bar area seating or a more family-friendly dining room. We have been coming to Noonan's for years and it never disappoints! In the warmer weather it's beautiful to sit out in their patio area surrounded by outdoor TVs. There is ample seating in both the bar or restaurant side. I usually opt for the bar side because we usually are out before the late night crowd starts to head in. We ordered the big wings for an appetizer in the Carolina bbq but devoured them before I was able to get a photo. They're delicious and fresh and have the perfect amount of sauce to them. I was not super hungry so I just ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was huge I felt I kept eating and didn't even make a dent so I brought it home. My boyfriend ordered their special steak sandwich with a side of fries. He said it was cooked to his medium rare temperature and well flavored. The fries are always extra crispy here too! I have been on an espresso martini kick and it truly is one of the best places for one around. Sweet and simply made. My boyfriend ordered his favorite ipa from the alchemist brewing company that they luckily carried here! Parking can be tricky on weekends so we did have to walk a little bit further but not an issue as it was a nice fall evening. Noonans is a staple of the pearl river main street and its most recent renovations makes it a great spot to be at all day. At first glance looks like a small bar but they have a big indoor seating area and huge outdoor patio for game days and socializing with big groups. The food is great for the location and drinks are averagely priced . I went for the buffalo chicken wrap and hit the spot for lunch - chips were good also. Definitely recommended if you are going with a big 8+ group of people. read more

3:00 am on a Thursday, walked in the Noonanas and they said they were closing, my problem with this is that it's pearl river, the closest town to NJ where someone can go out for a drink until the law says no. The problem I have with them closing earlier when their website says 4:00 am is that the owner bought Flemings place, Flemings WOULD NEVER CLOSE EARLY, they stuck to their hours, regardless if it was a ghost town. Do better man especially now because you bought one of the only bars that wouldn't do that. My husband and I went with some family to T.F.Noona's. There was 5 of us and we were seated at a small round table and we had a hard time finding places to put our appetizers and everyone's plates because of how small the table was. The plates are also all square for a round table so it made it very awkward. Our main meals were brought out but they hadn't removed the plates from our appetizers so we had to hold the appetizer plates until someone came to grab them. My husband and I both ordered the penne a la vodka and it was one of the best I have ever had! And portion size is huge so come hungry! Our waitress didn't really come by our table much but luckily they leave a large glass bottle of water so we could refill our drinks. I'm not sure if we ordered other drinks if they would have been refilled or not. Ambiance was good. Dim lighting leaves it feeling cozy and intimate. I do like how the main bar and restaurant are separated so you're not getting all that noice. Overall it was a good visit and the food was amazing! It has been a while since I have been here as i moved away and WOW!!! This place is awesome, and the transformation of the backyard is stellar. Megan was out sweet bartender who makes an amazing Manhattan. I had a tasty brunch and came back for cocktails in the evening. The 18 tv's playing sports is crazy. The day after the 4th of July is the best because towns are very quiet and parking is so easy. The service was great. Our server was a attentive and friendly. The menu was nice and the portions were good. We had chili, salad, burger and shepherd's pie. All very tasty. On your way to the restrooms you will be reminded that the building at one time was a bank, hence why there is a large vault door in the hallway. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but while there was high heat and humidity it was more enjoyable to sit in the cool air conditioning. I would suggest that you pay with cash due to the 3.99% surcharge for using a credit card. It appears these surcharges are becoming more and more common. read more

Well- stopped here on a late Sunday afternoon before a basketball game at Dominican to get a dinner done. Wasn't the first choice, but went here and found a quick table on the side wall to grab. Waitress was right over. This was more of a watering hole than it was a sit down restaurant, yet it seemed that their menu was jam packed with things to eat and options from burgers and bar food to shepherds pie. The name was obviously Irish, but I didn't get an overwhelming sense of it in the bar. Ordered the ginormous pretzel and that was about as literal as it comes - the thing was as big as my head. Would have liked to have more cheese rather than the stoneground mustard they also brought with it. The pretzel was also ready hard and had either baked too long or was too hot - as the skin was hard and the inside was somewhat hollow. Cheese was good. For my meal I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich. I substituted onion rings for the fries - and those were very good. The sandwich was okay - multiple thin breast like cutlets makiing up the meat of the sandwich - and honestly - if you don't do spicy well? Ask for it mild. I'm a wuss and this was very spicy to me. This place is a nice place to go to watch the game and be around a lively crowd. I was craving wings so I stopped in. Much to my chagrin, I should have passed on them. They were dry and over cooked. The skin barely had any flavor and this inside was super bland. If someone were to tell me they were over cooked and reheated from earlier in the day, I would believe them. Being that it wasn't the bartenders fault, who was very kind and makes good drinks.... The three stars were because of him alone. read more

As a New Yorker, I've visited my fair share of pubs, and I was hoping for a more welcoming experience here in this small town. Unfortunately, things didn't start off on the right foot. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us, but when we mentioned we were just looking to sit at the bar, her response was, "If you can get a seat." Not exactly the warmest welcome, and honestly, not great for the business either. We decided to head into the bar area, where we did find a seat easily, but the atmosphere was overwhelming. It was incredibly loud, with multiple TVs blaring in every direction. It was tough to hold a conversation, and we quickly realized it wasn't the kind of place where we wanted to linger. Our server didn't seem particularly thrilled with the fact that we were only having one drink each, and kept coming by with a very pushy attitude, almost like she was trying to rush us into ordering food. It felt uncomfortable, and when we finally asked for the check, it was just dropped on the table without so much as a word. It felt like we were being ushered out because we weren't spending more. I'm all for supporting local spots, but the vibe here definitely needs improvement. A more inviting atmosphere and better customer service would go a long way in making this a place I'd want to return to. Upselling should be a skill, not an annoyance. read more

I didn't love the food but it wasn't bad and if I can get used to everything being unseasoned I might hold it in higher regard. Next time we discussed just going and hanging at the outside bar. Setting **** Inside it reminded me of an old classic Pub from England/Ireland. There are high top booths in front with large windows for street views, the wall facing bar is large and a quaint dining room beyond that. Outside in the back is where Noonan's adds something special. A 10 foot tall wood fence surrounds the patio and seals out the world. With the lights strung above I imagine at night this space would be even better. There are plenty of TV's for sports and with its own bar although they may only open that bar on busier nights. On the downside there are no dogs allowed outside but also no smoking so that's a bonus. There are multitude of signs when you walk in telling you what you can't wear or do, no t shirts, nobody under 23, etc and from other Yelpers it seems like they enforce every one of them. Also the music outside was repetitive, Bruce every third song, and overly loud. One more thing, as noted by others, there is an odd unwelcome feeling walking in. Maybe it's all regulars but the 10 or so bar patrons all went quiet and turned when we walked in. There was a tall guy at the end of the bar who I figured was the owner/manager who seemed particularly bothered by our presence and was eyeing me like he wanted to fight. Service **** After that odd exchange I expected that attitude to spill over to our server but that never happened. Unfortunately I don't recall her name but she was friendly, knowledgeable and offered up suggestions with ease. Every special request was met with an "of course, no problem", the kitchen did mess up our order but our server remedied it quickly. Food ** This is were things went a bit awry, while the menu reads great it does not taste like they season anything before or after cooking. Now some may like their food that way and while everything was prepared and cooked well it just had no flavor to me. My son really didn't like the chewy texture of the burger which usually tells me it was frozen, I thought it was ok, just unseasoned. My Grilled Chicken Sandwich was sort of dry and boring without the bacon I added and my wife's salad originally arrived without the grilled chicken ordered but was eventually deemed pretty good. Maybe this is just their style of cooking and I have to adjust but it is a pub which historically is not where I go when I'm looking for a healthier meal. The menu is varied and most will be able to find what they want although it's not true Irish Pub fare. There are few items under "House Favorites" but there are no Bangers and Mashed and the Shepherds Pie is made with ground beef instead of lamb. Value **** I didn't see the final bill as my wife snatched it up so that means it must have been reasonable. The menu prices looked very good with most sandwiches in the $10 range and the burger $12. read more

I am giving a rating of one star for one reason - I used a credit card and they added a 4% surcharge to my bill. I really think they should be able to cover the Credit Card Interchange fee when they charge $9 for a pint of Guinness. I understand that business was tough during the pandemic and that supply chain issues exist but I really don't understand the fee especially with all of the increased pricing that has been done. Very popular restaurant, with lovely and accommodating wait service. Bartenders are professional and attentive. Food and service is above par. The only drawback is the "manager/owner" who presides over this restaurant with a level of arrogance usually reserved for a prison guard. God forbid you asked him for a reasonable accommodation from the norm, you will be greeted with a level of arrogance and poor customer service you have likely not seen before in your life. A great pub in downtown Pearl River,NY. We've visited twice and each time has been excellent. Both times I ordered Shepherd's Pie which was very good, it's made with beef not lamb which is more traditional. Most in our group had burgers which were also very good. Service is attentive, friendly and I believe our server was a family member. The bar side is truly pub like and the dining side is open and airy with tall ceilings. Wow... idk where to start. I guess we can start here... As I walked into the establishment I felt "ok this bar/restaurant has a good aura... I might enjoy my time here!"... that was NOT the case. I tried to order some drinks from the bar. (To their benefit it was busy.) HOWEVER, there were two bartenders (one had tattoos and the other was an older gentleman) that were the RUDEST people I came into contact with. They made me feel almost as if my presence there was an inconvenience to them although my payment puts money in their pocket. Furthermore, I recieved my drinks and was ready to pay my bill. THEN, before paying my bill I was ASSURED by the bar tender its a $30 minimum. (Which I had NO PROBLEM WITH.) I went to pay my bill with a credit card and as SOON as I got my credit card back I was ACCUSSED of being a poor tipper and was told by the bar tender "I'll remember you!"... LMAO OK ... ANYWAY, In addition to being accussed, I noticed the bar tender took a shot of liqour as a "relief" of his strenuous duties. But I digress. My bill was about $40 and change. A 20% tip on that bill is about $8. My standard tip for servers starts at $10 minimum because I used to work in the restaurant industry. I know the types of people some have to deal with and how demanding it could be at sometimes but my god... your going to seriously treat patrons as a chore!?!!!? What a JOKE. Finally, after paying my bill and trying to tip the bartenders in good faith I was COMPLETELY ignored. Other patrons at the bar started to catch on. I even had a couple say to me "wow... I can't believe their acting like that." I had some relief from patrons that actually noticed the poor service. I guess all I can say is maybe those bartenders should find new career paths? Or not. Went to the restaurant part .. was almost empty .. we had 4 adults and 2 very young children . FYI NO CHILDRENS MENU , are they trying to tell us they don't want children at their restaurant ? I entered a signed agreement with detailed pricing on a price sheet for a 4 hour event. I was later overcharge by almost $600. They claimed a room charge of $350 that was not on the pricing sheet, they charged a credit card processing fee (no fee mentioned on the credit card processing form they had me sign) when I had an envelope of cash with me and offered to settle the bill when the event was over. They told me no problem, we figure out the bill and just charge the card on file. Then they added tax and tip on top of that. I would never recommend anyone hold an event here. read more

A friends kept pestering us to go to Noonan's even though we had been there numerous times in years ago and despite finding numerous irish pubs in the area that were much much better, suffice to say our friends have lost their right to pick restaurants in the future. The food was terrible, service was worse (wait was long for drinks, long to order and long on delivering cold food AND had to ask numerous times for condiments and in the end we never received them). Guiness which is a staple at an Irish pub was below average AND served in a plastic Guiness glass, the first time I have ever had that. Pearl River has better Irish pubs in walking distance and a mile down the road is Hearth and Tap and Brady's and Finnegans are 15 minutes away. read more

The food was a total bust, if we weren't starving we would have left. Do NOT order the boneless wings, they are actually chicken fingers painted with sauce. SO SALTY. Sat at the bar with my husband for a drink and dinner. The place is clean and inviting. I got the corned Beef sandwich. What a mistake. The toasted rye was so shoaky (this was not an open faced sandwich) you could not pick it up without it falling apart. The corned beef was so undercooked that you could not even bite through the sandwich. After one bite I was done. I must say it had to be the worst corned beef sandwich I ever tried. When the bartender came over after about 20 minutes and asked how everything was and I told her about the very soggy bread and the undercooked corned beef the response I got was "sorry to hear that, can I get you another drink"? No attempt to right the problem and seemed to only be interested in selling me another drink. Left disappointed and hungry. Gave 2 stars because the place was clean and inviting. read more

NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Tonight my family and I came to dine on the patio. My nephew is 4 months old and needed his diaper changed. To our dismay there was NO CHANGE STATION which is mandated for any substantially renovated (Noonans) building since January 2019 (well before the pandemic can be a factor) anyway we went to a quiet part of the restaurant laid down a pad and tried to change his diaper. The owner Larry came storming over and told us we need to change the baby somewhere else so we asked- "ok where there is no change station" and he said "there's a sink in the handicap bathroom" so we took the baby into the handicap bathroom to find a pedestal sink unable to change any baby in.
