We visited this restaurant at 12 noon on a Sunday and it was impossible to park. I don't know where the people in all these cars were shopping, I sure didn't see a high amount of foot traffic. I have a feeling people just parked and left their cars, maybe attending an event elsewhere. So if you visit: plan time to park and walk!

In regard to Paul M.'s scathing review - My wife an I frequent this restaurant on a regular basis. I am appalled to hear that you had this type of negative experience, in what is my favorite Glatt Kosher restaurant in the area. We have never had to wait over fifteen minutes to get a table or to receive our entrees, and the staff always seemed on top of their game when I go there. Just out of curiosity, it seems like to attended etc on March 29th which was the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover, and etc wasn't even open. I just think it is remarkable that you are commenting about a restaurant that you attended when it wasn't even opened, that's probably why you felt it was severely understaffed! read more

Hands down one of the best kosher restaurants around! I live in Teaneck, and I have been there many times, afraid to go too often or I'll be too spoiled and gain too much weight. The food is so good, I dream about it. Seth is a master in the kitchen, everything he makes is phenomenal. Prices are good for a nice upscale place, service is great, and the atmosphere is nice too. We live in Los Angeles and are fortunate to have access to some above par restaurants. ETC is by far one of my favorites. Our family went there last night and it was hard not to order everything on the menu. You haven't lived till you've tried their gnocci and beef cheeks - good lord!! Their ribs were fantastic and I particularly loves the sunchoke that accompanies it. It tastes like a cross between a mushroom and an artichoke and they cook it very artfully. BYOB! Went on a double date to ETC and the service was superb! The gnocchi was a great appetizer and the hangar steak was simply spectacular. Our server only had to attend our table, yet he only came by three times, once to ask us about water, then to take our order, and once after our appetizers were served. Half of the time he invisible and rest of the time he was just hanging out by the register area stairs, chit chatting with other staff members. We refilled our own water and had to grab other stuff members to get extra plates and utensils. I was super annoyed to pay premium price only to experience a diner like service. I didn't even bother to order the Zeppole from the dessert menu. I paid the check and we walked out as quickly as we could.

The atmosphere is peaceful and private, but the decorum speaks to its character and its history.
