Black Truffel pasta..the photo makes it look shiny..it's not. Flavor is infused into the cream sauce.. fresh black truffel shavings on top.

It's been too long to write a review of the best Italian in Nj...and better then all of NYC but maybe a few. I personally like it better then Carbone. My wife and I have been here many times and have never been disappointed.. We are cooks and foodies. if my plate rested more then 3 minutes I can tell. Best in class White Truffle pasta..in the cream sauce style, Veal chop, Black Ink Pasta a rare special..get it...I didn't finish mine just so my son could taste the amazing flavors..that was tough not to finish. Everything is cooked with finesse..nothing clumsy. And always seasoned spot on. Pretty sure I never asked for salt or pepper, ever. And being a BYOB the prices are a tad higher, but I can drink a $50 bottle of French Chablis or Italian Barolo that would normally cost $150 plus tip in a restaurant. To me that's a $120 discount right off the top.

Love this place, but been haven't been in a while. Three of us went last night, and was even better than I remember. It's expensive, but it's a bring your own, which helps us because we like to have a few. How lucky, they had fresh soft shell crab, my favorite. They were very large and cooked so well, so juicy. As we sat down they brought fresh hot bread from Balthazar, so good, and some oil. Perfect as we poured out first cocktail. Next we checked out the specials, and they have a lot. Before I went I was going to have a Caesar salad (love it) and pasta w red sauce, but a game time decision with the specials had to change. I shared the Zuppa de clams. This is by far the best red sauce w clams and I love them so I've had quite a few. Dipping that Brest in the sauce, doesn't get much better My wife had the arugula sold w goat cheese, I'm not a fan, but she loves her salad ms it's a huge portion you could defiantly share For dinner we had a Branzino, zuppa de clams over linguine and I had the soft shell crabs over spinach This is the best meal I've had in months.

Quaint. Average in food. We called for reservations 2-3 weeks in advance. Their dinner times fill up fast. We went around 6:30pm. Street parking was hard to find. We parked quite a few blocks down. There's a lot of people outside the restaurant - can be confusing. Upon entering the small space it's packed. We ordered two pastas for about $130. There wasn't much and the quality could have been better. Carbonara 3/5 just average Truffle ravioli 3/5 I expected more mushrooms in the ravioli. I expected more flavor of truffle.

First time here. We placed a pick up order because I saw the great reviews and photos here . Great gourmet Italian food. We chose a Carbonara pasta ( comes w. Pancetta), arugula salad, chicken franchese and a delicious tiramisu. The order comes with some vegetables and a big piece of fresh artisan bread. Everything was fresh, extremely delicious, Huge amount in each plate. Price $$$ Definitely I will come back again!!! Congrats and blessings

Always passed this place and saw how packed it was outside and inside, but after finally coming here...I can see why. This is probably the best Italian restaurant that I have ever been to. I had the truffle ravioli and that was amazing. Also had the fillet fish and half roasted chicken and they were also delicious. Another plus was how friendly the staff was. I called and left a message for a reservation and the owner called me back immediately. The staff also showed other stuff they recommended on the menu. Also this restaurant is BYOB. Once again I had such a fabulous time and looking forward to coming back here

Such a wonderful quaint little place! The food is truly impeccable. Everything tastes so fresh and individually prepared. The waiters are very attentive! Elvis is also such an accommodating owner. Burrata, truffle ravioli, and tagliatelle pasta were our faves! We just tried it yesterday and already came back the next day. Will def be one of our faves.

So, the comfort that I didn't quite find at my hotel? I found it here -- at an Italian restaurant…read more I wasn't so much in the mood for Italian food as I was for patio/al fresco dining and something delicious to drink. The food was an afterthought (initially). At Aumm Aumm, it (the food) became the main story. My rideshare dropped me off and I thought, 'This will do.' A large patio in the late spring sun was just what I needed. I walked in and said I was a party of one and I wanted to eat outside. Done. Soon, a very chatty and kind waiter was taking good care of me and offering a glass bottle of still water.* As I am wont to do, I ate in waves: appetizer and main course (and, if I have the room/interest, dessert). A drink and a solid. A began my meal with the burrata. Rarely can you go wrong with a ball of cheese but this was a silky, milky sphere of mozzarella, served with oranges, toasted walnuts & topped with truffle honey. Truffle honey. I tried to pair every bite with cheese, citrus, nut, and honey and each time I was successful, my mouth sang. To accompany my chews, my waiter suggested Rancoli Vermentino, a dry white with a crisp finish and enough adjacency to the fruit components of the burrata to make it make sense. Lovely. I forgot that I was in Jersey. For my main, I had a GF version of the pennoni alla genovese napoletana - slow-cooked caramelized onions & diced beef pasta. Simple but incredibly flavorful (which, I've learned, is what Italian food is all about). The plate was large and I could smell it before I saw it (a very good thing). To help bring the dish to life, my waiter suggested a warm red blend (earthy, cherry/berry forward). He was correct on the type of wine but I was a bit disappointed in the price point. Believe me, I know the ins and outs of the restaurant biz, but this glass should have been (at least) a couple of dollars cheaper (knowing what I could get a bottle for). This slight faux pas lessened my rating to a 4. Not the end of the world. Just know what you're paying for before committing. I was pleasantly full so I passed on dessert/coffee. Th NJ sales tax was less than I was used to but the dreaded credit card charge fee made an appearance. I probably spent more money on dinner than I would at present but I don't regret the experience. I slept very well that night. *There was a charge. Know before you go.

Next up the Orecchiette pasta was very good, nice tasting sauce & good sausage & the Pizza Al Tartufo was delicious , freshly made good truffle taste w the added prosciutto nice & crispy. Nice looking place, funky decor our waitress was very nice & attentive. Price wise a bit on the high side but doable since everything we had was great they have a good menu to choose from, We enjoyed our food & time here.

The capellini is a blend of primarily angel hair and sweet sausage. Simply add a touch of parmesan cheese and you'll be in heaven. I usually eat cheese filled ravioli with marinara sauce, but the chef put an excellent twist to this dish! The food preparer has given a new meaning to ravioli by altering the filling and the sauce making it tastier. On a slightly constructive note, I enjoyed the tartufo but it's basically a pricey version of a Klondike bar with a cherry in the middle. However, their cakes are out of this world. The tres leches and chocolate mousse has the perfect amount of sugar and consistency. Sweets like these are the reason why there are two "s" in dessert; you'll always crave seconds! From appetizer to dessert, you'll dine like a king in a suburban palace. Be sure to go the full distance with a three course meal! #italianrestaurant #njfoodie #ravioli #calamari

Was not disappointed at all, first off 50 bucks for 4 people, where can you go and spend 50 bucks for 4 people? I spent 33 bucks at Wendy's the other day for me and my kid. So 50 bucks for 4 people for 3 courses in awesome! We got the ceasar salad, which was good and they gave us plenty of dressing and didn't skimp on the croutons or cheese. Next was rigatoni with oil and garlic and I gotta say I don't know what they did to the roasted garlic but it was amazing, like I was picking all the little pieces out of the pan it was so good. Then we got the sausage and peppers and if that wasn't enough they threw in meatballs with it as well. There was more than enough food for the 4 of us and we are big eaters. The sauce was so good and that fact that we eating at home I could soak up all the sauce in my bread without fear of being stared at by other patrons. We plan on ordering again and plan on going to dine in as well, the place looked newly remodeled and was quite cute inside. 5 out of 5!

I felt a little like Ray Liotta in "Goodfellas". The service was excellent and our waiter rattled off an extensive list of daily specials and they all sounded wonderful. We settled on burrata and a fried vegetable appetizer. The burrata was good but the fried thing was even better. I wish I could remember what it was because it was so good. I guess that's what I get for writing my reviews 2 months later. It was some kind of vegetable stuffed with cheese, battered and fried. It wasn't too oily and all the flavors and textures went well together. For our entrees we went with linguini in clam sauce and cavatelli, broccoli rabe, & sausage. The linguini was a solid plate of pasta. Linguini, clams, sauce. It tasted exactly how you expect it would and the pasta was cooked well. The cavatelli was much more interesting to me. The different textures and flavors really made it a joy to eat. The pasta was al dente while some of the sausage had some crispy bits to it. And the broccoli rabe kind of made me feeling like I was eating somewhat healthy The ambiance was nice if not a little dated. Not bad though, it was cozy. I'd come back, but not too often. It's pricey.
