My overall experience with Ethan Allen was not a good one. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I've shopped at higher end and lower end furniture stores and didn't deal with what I dealt with here. First, the furniture was overpriced with not that great of quality. It took nearly four months to get our entire order. When I spoke with both Nanette, our sales person and Gina, the manager they both had attitudes when I asked about the status of our order. "Custom" without COMFORT Ordered a "custom" sofa and loveseat hence it's non-refundable. We noticed the firmness right away but thought maybe it needed some time to "break-in" and soften. After a while it was still very uncomfortable and we didn't even want to watch TV in our living room. The comfort level does not match the floor sample at the store nor the cushion softness we selected (they gave us 3 choices). The salesperson came to our house to try out the cushions and we went back to the showroom to also feel the difference. They were very different indeed. The cushion in the showroom was much more comfy and you sink into it like a sofa should. Our sofa cushions are way too firm, they have no give to it, and are extremely uncomfortable to watch TV on. They sent a service tech out and said we'd receive a resolution within 10 days. That was 2 months ago. So are we stuck with a non-refundable rock hard back-breaking couch because we chose a custom fabric? We have been miserable for months with an uncomfortable couch and no resolution. My family has been Ethan Allen customers since the 1980's, so I never expected to be so disappointed, unsatisfied, and uncomfortable. The customer service doesn't seem to have any urgency or care about our satisfaction either which was very surprising. Do yourself a favor and get an actual comfy couch that you can enjoy a movie on from Raymore and Flanigan. read more

Purchased furniture for my living room and den a few months ago. Sales people were excellent. In doing the financing my regular TD Bank did not get the sale and I was reluctantly given t a credit company that Ethan Allen deals with Corona Credit. "Horrible, horrible company with very poor and nasty customer service!! I was told that there was no interest if paid in full by 7/25. However in paying much more than the monthly fee every month I received an email yesterday saying that a payment was due today, I explained that I made two extra payments each of the last 3 months. The nasty woman said they didn't care, that's how it works. I also asked why I'm being charged a $5.00 monthly fee and a .10 cents financial fee. Was told that's how it is. Very disappointed with this company. Had i known this going in it would have been a game changer and I would have purchased my furniture elsewhere. Perhaps Ethan Allen should look into cutting this company loose. read more

Bought a sofa and was very unhappy with the fit and finish for lack of a better term. I ordered the firmer cushions. The cushions were misshapen and did not line up nicely and were very quickly sagging . I complained and they gave me the standard fill cushions which was an improvement but still not up to the standard one would expect from a 3,500 dollar sofa. Now I've noticed the springs in the middle section are making noise like they are shot already - mind you this sofa is only 6 months old . I will call to complain again. read more

Run, do not walk, away from this furniture store. My husband and I purchased a sofa which arrived so poorly constructed that it was sad. Uneven seams, wrinkled fabric on the sofa, dye lot that was so far from the sample that it looked like a different fabric altogether. The sofa was so poorly made that we were "granted" a re-select. Well, the second sofa, while better still is also sub-par. We selected firm cushions and discovered that this particular fill is made of feathers. Fine, except the feathers are constantly poking up threw the cushion fabric. When I called customer service, the only solution I was offered was new cushion fill. When I informed them that we required a firm filling, I was told that the only firm filling was composed of feathers so the "replacement" fill would create the same problem for us. Four months later, we are still getting repeatedly poked by feathers popping up through the upholstery. Expensive sofa and definitely not worth it. read more

We went to Ethan Allen looking for two leather recliners to replace two old ones...we were advised to shop for top-grain leather, and Ethan Allen was the only store that offered it with a known reputation. The service was exemplary...we had a salesperson who had worked there for over 20 years, helped us decide on what we wanted, and to make a long story short, we ended up redoing the whole room! Annie F.came to our house, measured, and the next day, made a computer 3-D image of our living room with different pieces, different colors schemes, and layouts. She spent a number of hours going over fabrics and colors, long after my own patience was growing thin! She went above and beyond, truly can't say enough...so the furniture will take a few months to get here...so what? That's the price you pay for quality, and Annie has made lifetime customers of us all. The showroom was immaculate, the people behind the front desk friendly, warm and welcoming, and the furniture really is of extremely good quality. They've sold us! read more

My wife and I placed an order for a sofa and were told it would take approximately three months: well it's been six months and no word. Years ago the sales people were great to deal with and the service was top notch but now you have to deal with smug individuals and poor customer service. I will never buy from Ethan Allen again. My husband and I decided it was time to update our living area decor. We needed to replace one sofa and two accent chairs. We love our dining room set that was purchased at Ethan Allen and decided to visit the Garden City New York store. It's there that we met an amazing design specialist, Alicia Kim. I shared photos of my space and color schemes with her and Alicia began to work her magic! I mentioned that I was concerned with space and she began to create a 3-D model of our living room. Using the model she could tell what pieces would fit in the space. She made suggestions and helped us In choosing pieces and colors. Alicia begin pulling fabric options as she guided us through the process. We greatly appreciate all the time Alicia took with us. She answered all of my questions and concerns. We are thrilled with our choices of pieces as well as fabric and look forward to our furniture delivery. We appreciate the high-level of talent, professionalism and kindness we found in Alicia Kim. I knew what size and style I wanted for a matching sofa and loveseat and Ethan Allen was only company that had the combination of 70" apt size sofa with a 63" loveseat. Before ordering, I opened an account online and sent away for many, many samples of fabrics to see in my own home. I also needed to coordinate a second fabric for two side chairs that I intended to reupholster. Their fabrics are so gorgeous that it took me over a year to finally make up my mind. I called and spoke to Anne Marie at that point because I had some questions about ordering the furniture online (my credit card would be immediately charged) or ordering through the store (can leave a deposit until shipped). I also had a question about the repeat on one of the fabrics and Ann Marie was very helpful. When they were having a sale I ordered the couches through the store, but the extra material for my chairs (to be upholstered elsewhere) had to be ordered online. To my pleasant surprise, the sofa and loveseat were ready 2 months earlier than expected and I was in the middle of painting and carpeting. I spoke with Renee at the Connecticut warehouse and there was no problem in holding my furniture and scheduling my delivery after my carpeting was installed. The men that delivered my furniture were terrific. It had snowed two days earlier and the ground outside was wet. I was concerned about soiling my new carpet and requested that they wear booties on delivery. They did better than that. They came wearing loafers that they were able to slip off in my hallway and finished the delivery in their socks! The sofa and loveseat were delivered in perfect condition. The couches even came with arm covers to slip on. A couple of weeks later my material arrived in the mail at my door. In the beginning of 2021 I went to the store and got help by a women called Anne Marie, she was great in helping me pick a new headboard and mattress. I give her 5 stars for the job she did. BUT..... 2 week later I called to speak to her and when you call the store you get transferred to a receptionist who works at the store. She was nasty and rude. I wish I was at the store so I could yell at her for thinking she could speak to me like I'm trash. So for anyone who calls to speak to your original salesperson remember you have to go threw this receptionist with an attitude problem. Customer service is lost on her. Maybe she shouldn't work at store working with people who spends thousands of dollars. I don't plan to buy from here again. read more

Buyers Beware. I had 2 furniture deliveries from Ethan Allen. The first delivery, there was some furniture that came in damaged. The second delivery, the deliverymen from their third party, J.B. Hunt from Conn, caused damage when they brought up my furniture. The deliverymen are denying the damage. Absurd because this is a "new" condo. read more

Awful! I thought Ethan Allen had high quality furniture. I grew up thinking that, but I bought a sofa bed and it is pure crap. The frame for the bed has snapped and my husband had to drill a whole for a bolt to keep it together. The arm guard was sewn with a nylon thread that eventually shredded where ever it touched so now the upholstery is shredded where it was suppose to have been protected. In addition, we spent the first weeks with Ethan Allen, trying to get the cushions right. It is honestly one of the worst big ($3500) purchases I have ever made. NEVER AGAIN! Last year bought couch with a bed in it & a loveseat also a recliner chair. Upon receiving the couches which I had upholstered in a chenille fabric, they had wrinkles in the cushions, they came numerous times to additionally stuff the furniture, wrinkles never came out. Recliner received scratched. They also stuffed that and & tried to reupholster that. It came back, the arm was poorly done. I received back a $2,000., chair that is a second. I got the chair at 50% off, but not happy. Also the bed in the couch squeaked & they had to replace the mechanism.I thought I bought 1st rate furniture, I actually bought $7,000., worth of garbage.Never buy from them.Monica salesperson & Mark & customer service is the worst ever. Very pleased with all my purchases. Donna, my salesperson, and Mark, a manager who helped when Donna was out, were so helpful. I walked in with no clear idea what I wanted and they patiently worked with me. Somehow they managed to pick up on what my taste is, and made appropriate suggestions. My couch and chairs are lovely. They even assisted me in purchasing coordinating fabric, to reupholster (elsewhere), other furniture I am keeping. As a bonus, the items all arrived way ahead of schedule. Delivery was a breeze, and my white couch arrived in the pouring rain, clean and dry! will keep this short. have heard various opinion on ea. went to garden city ny and couldnt have been treated better. spent a ton of time with us, made recommendations, often for lower priced items over high ones. got aaa treatment and evailuation of my space at home numerous times. the furniture is first rate with 75% of it made in america.
