This stay was not comfortable. We were only here to sleep. The rooms are ok but plumbing was clogged on arrival to the point where we couldn't use it. Gunk was coming up as you turned on water to use the sink. Not a good experience. They did finally fix it on the last day after several requests and email and because now water started leaking from the pipes. We had to use our clean towels to soak up the mess. Due to this issue we missed our prepaid breakfast two of our days here. Breakfast was nothing to brag about. There is coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. AC had dirty vents so breathing was an issue and the fridge was very noisy. read more

we bought our furnitures, Sofa, Armchair, bed, storage display, Console etc from Ethan Allen 20 years ago when we first bought our first house in Westport, CT. All our Wood furnitures are still in great shape. We upholstered our Avery armchair and Ottoman because they are still in perfect condition. We love the style. We decided to buy a new sofa even though our Cameron Sofa is still in good shape but after 20 years the color faded and we needed a new one. We decided to buy a Spencer Sofa Roll-arm 93" by 24" and we love it. The new furniture gives the ouse a new look to our great room. Our Spencer Sofa is impressive. We choose our fabric and color including customize the cushions with help of Ellen Kily - the designer and associate. Ethan Allen did a beautiful custom finish on our sofa. I love the firmness , size and number of all the sofa cushions. They are a high end furniture company and the value is absolutely there. I had stayed here 5 or 6 years ago and thought it was a decent place, not no more. It seems like maintenance is in no way a priority. Sink is always clogged even though we asked to have it looked at. Once it gets half way filled with water which only takes seconds it starts gushing on the floor with no way to stop it. This hotel is trash. The rooms are tired, old, and grungy. Drunks from the bar were so noisy that they woke us up in the middle of the night. Then in the morning there was no hot water. Literally none, because the boiler was broken. How did the hotel address the fact that we could neither sleep nor bathe while at the hotel? They did nothing. We stayed for a wedding off site. We arrived at 2:50 for 3:00 check in. Our king room was not ready. I told her we would wait the ten minutes for the room we paid for. She then offered me 2 full size beds. No! She then found a king room on the first floor. Not ideal, but it was fine. The room itself wasn't terrible, but the shower grout was gross and the tub faucet was about an inch away from the wall exposing the copper pipe. Not exactly luxury. The best part was at 9:45 am housekeeping entered the room while my husband was in his underwear brushing his teeth. I went to the front desk and the clerk proceeded to gaslight me that it was my fault I didn't use the do not disturb sign! Their policy is housekeeping is only after the second night! Bed Bugs and horrible management. Checked in on 12/23/24 and checked out that night. Found multiple live bed bugs crawling on top of the bedding just as I was getting settled for the night. When I carried a live one out with tweezers to the front desk the manager tried saying "she couldn't say for sure if it is a bed bug or not". I asked for a full refund and as I was leaving. Nobody offered to help move my things. Now I am driving 3.5 hrs homes and missing Christmas with my family. read more

I have stayed at Ethan Allen Hotel several times and had occasional issues that got resolved, like two malfunctioning TV's (I was given a discount), a toilet that wouldn't flush (maintenance came quickly), and an erroneous double charge for the room (I was credited back the incorrect amount). But this time, I experienced extremely poor customer service regarding a simple request, which was to check their lost and found to see if they had found sweater that might have been left behind in the room of one of my party. It started with an in-person request that stretched to a half hour, after which I had to leave to catch a plane. I followed up by phone the following SIX DAYS with the same request. At least a dozen times, no one picked up the phone. Several times, I was put on hold for long periods, once for 20 minutes. At first, I was told that there was a lost and found under the front desk and later that housekeeping keeps lost items downstairs (the latter is correct). On two days, I left a message with the housekeeping manager, Angelica, but got no response. Once I talked to a woman who identified herself as a manager named Maria, who said she would follow up personally and call me back the next day. No callback. So I called back and was told no such person existed and the manager on duty was "unavailable". And so on. Eventually, I talked to a front desk person named Eve, who took ownership for contacting housekeeping and having them search the lost and found. She called me back with the results the same morning. A real professional! Overall, I was astounded by the lack of customer focus, ownership, and follow through at Ethan Allen. It is clear that training and management are deficient, which makes Eve's excellent service all the more exemplary. Thank you, Eve! read more

RODENT IN ROOM! DO NOT stay at this hotel especially if you have a pet! My family had the displeasure of staying at this hotel as we were waiting to close on a home nearby. We checked in and were told we needed to stay in the pet friendly area of the hotel which is ok and I guess to be expected. However, when we walked in, the room smelled absolutely awful like a dog had freshly peed all over it. Since I was working remotely and had to log back in for back to back meetings and we planned on leaving early the next morning, we decided to just push through and stay in the room without complaining. The next morning we learned that the closing had been delayed so we had to stay an extra night, which is when we asked to switch rooms. At this point the the front desk staff was still relatively respectful and switched our room (to a slightly less smelly one), even giving us a free breakfast voucher. We ended up staying another 2 days (due to further delays) and though it was never pleasant (the hotel and the rooms are all dirty and rundown as documented in all the other reviews), we stayed because we kept thinking "just one more night". It all came to an end on our final day there when a MOUSE scurried along the wall in the room. In shock and horror, we promptly got up, gathered our things and put them in the car to check out immediately. We expected to be met with a normal amount of human decency and empathy but nope! The manager proceeded to tell us that no, we did not see a mouse (yes, we did), it was probably just an opossum! When I asked her if Ethan Allen Hotel thinks it's normal/okay to have opossums in rooms, we were simply met with a "no, but we can't control nature, the same way we can't control hurricanes" which is comical. Despite the managers attempts to gaslight me, we know what we saw - it was a mouse, but that didn't make a difference as we were refused a refund anyway. read more

Now the negatives- hair on the shower curtain, cracked tile in the bathroom room, metal plate around shower head hanging. The toilet is inches from the wall, barely "regular sized" people friendly. The bed was probably comfortable under normal circumstances but the amount of light coming in around the window was worse than any place i have ever stayed at Maine to Oklahoma! The front desk worker, Shameeta, had a bad attitude during check in. When I got to my room, the carpet had tears and stains. The shower/bathtub was clogged after 5 minutes of running the shower it would almost over flow. I woke up to the room next to me playing loud music at around 2:30 A.M. I called the front desk and there was no answer. I then went to the room and knocked on the door. Turns out it was Shameeta, the front desk worker, and two other people that were blasting music. Her room reeked of marijuana and when I asked her to turn off the music she said she would do it when she felt like it and shut the door. The music turned off about a half hour later but the smell of marijuana lingered into my room. I was astonished that this is how the Ethan Allen Hotel is being ran and the rudeness of their employee. Why would the front desk worker smoke marijuana in a room with two other people while blasting music? read more

This is our second stay here. It was a quiet Sunday night Condition (4/5): This was a nice hotel. Looked like a reformed Hampton Inn. The furnishings were nice. Service (5/5): The nice gentlemen upgraded us to a suite since it was a slow evening. We were delighted to see that there was a bar and restaurant attached since we didn't feel like driving to another restaurant. To sure why "21 Lake restaurant" isn't on yelp, so I'll post my review below. Value: (4/5): The price was right and a great, clean place to stay for the night. This hotel is not new, and its age is readily on display. For instance, the phone card had instructions on how to use your MCI calling card. The rooms are dated, but for the most part well maintained. The tub, toilet, and fixtures seemed newer. The bedding and towels were upscale, and the mattress was comfortable. The walls are thin, and I could hear the adjacent room. The common areas are quite nice and majestic with a large parlor leading to a beautiful courtyard. I get the sense that this was quite the place at one time, perhaps the 70's or 80's. Overall, this is a more than adequate hotel and one that you can get for under $100. I booked 8 rooms in a block of rooms set aside for a wedding. First problem- the woman taking the reservations has a creative knowledge of the alphabet. Most of the names were misspelled but she said that didn't matter. Second problem- I got my confirmations and one room was missing. I called back and made that reservation again. I then received a second round of confirmations which now had 2 rooms for the one initially missing. I had to make another phone call to clear that up only to find that we have NO reservations and my reservation numbers are not right. This woman was only interested in telling me the challenges of her job rather than help me. It turns out they use 2 reservation systems and they don't communicate with one another. I had to call a different number to speak with someone else. Third problem - The day of the wedding, we got our room ok but my in-laws were told there wasn't one for them! I sent my husband to the front desk with the confirmation numbers. That got straightened out but while he was there he saw a group of people going to the same wedding whose rooms weren't ready well after check in time. The front desk thought it was ok to leave them stranded with no place to get dressed. They also double booked my son's room. The room is nice but this place needs some serious help! read more

Stopped here for a one night stay as I was driving for close to 14 hours. I chose this hotel because they accepted pets, had a restaurant/bar, convenient location to the interstate, and assumed that since they are a wedding venue, quality would be better. The cost for the room was significantly higher than other hotels in the area, however I was ok with that since they met most of my requirements (listed above). The restaurant was closed so to Covid, however still listed as an amenity, they tack on a $50 pet fee where every other local hotel charges $25. There were other rooms with pets in my wing. It sounded like a kennel with barking dogs, however nothing was done about it. The staff here was quite lazy, and even though they could see guests making all sorts of noise outside our window, no one did anything about it until I called the desk. They still took their time to address the guests at midnight to quiet down. I did email the hotel with my comments a week ago and hadn't even received a response. If you're looking for a place to stay, I'd recommend one of the cheaper options in the area as this hotel charges 5 star rates for 2 star quality. read more

My experience with EA has been banquet events only. My company had one of their holiday parties here and damn are the passed appetizers the bombbbbb!! In fact i prob shoul have just filled up on them and nearly did. The main entrees are typical hotel/wedding/banquet variety. My entire group had the prime rib and it was not the best cut. I ate it but then again i was also 5 drinks deep at the time and was taking a one way ticket to scarf town, so i didnt exactly nit pick it. My mom said hers was awfully tough tho and even my dad couldnt get through it much. Idk why my colleagues thought a band would be better than a DJ... it was like a knock off Tony Bennett act with old dudes in neon jackets. Oy vey. More drinks here I come. I stayed one night this past week because I had treatment for cancer at a local hospital the next day. I woke up w bug bites all over my ankles, feet and then saw the bugs. I also have to home test for covid because of treatment and tested positive as well that morning. I am in no way saying I got covid BC of the hotel/room as I was masked while checking in/out and one can never know w covid, however I was bitten in bed, took photos & videos of the bites & the literal bugs. I called the front desk to 1. Let them know of this and 2. My testing positive for covid so that anyone going in was aware. All she said was oh sorry I can have one of the managers call you later. I explained I was leaving the key in the room to not walk around the hotel either.I heard nothing that day (Monday) I called twice more, three times Tuesday and once today now Wednesday unable to speak w anyone still being told "oh I'm sorry but I'm sure a manager will get back to you." I have contacted my bank which I supplied the photos to with a dispute to stop payment as well as the health dept in Danbury. Ethan Allen Management has shown they have no regard for anyone who walks through their doors. I took mainly video of the actual bugs moving about the bed, but those aren't able to post on here. If you value your health I recommend you choose elsewhere to stay because unfortunately Ethan Allen is no longer one we can say is upper tier when it comes to a stay here. Less then 24hrs in this hotel turned into something from a nightmare. There are plenty of better options in this area and would recommend you choose other than Ethan Allen. I could never figure this place out. Why would a furniture company have a hotel? Are they trying to test out their furniture to see how it holds up? They can't be running this business to provide quality service. The walls are paper thin. All night long I could hear traffic outside and people in other rooms. When people started showering the next morning I could hear water running through pipes, every time. I thought this was supposed to be a fancy hotel. It is a budget travel lodge dressed up in nice furniture. I had eaten here before, as an attendee at events, and thought the food was decent. This time I was disappointed with my breakfast. One egg was bleeding uncooked whites and the other had a burned yolk. How is that even possible? They were attached to each other. I asked for toast. No toast. It wasn't included in the packaged options they offered. 2 stinkin pieces of bread and they couldn't throw it in. What was included was several varieties of pork. I asked for turkey substitutes - fancy-furniture place like this should have no problem with that request. Instead, I got no meat at all. I did get a distinctly baconny flavor in my home fries. That's a bonus if you eat porks - disgusting if you don't. The bathroom has a 1.21 jiggawatt light in it. That would have been great when I was 17 and needed to find clogged pores on my face, in the mirror. 30 years later I would like to be able to get up in the middle of the night without seemingly staring directly at the sun. How about that toilet! It is practically touching the wall. It's a good thing I'm skinny. An overweight person would have to use the tub. Sadly, I am not kidding. I am now more confused than ever as to why a furniture company would own a hotel. Maybe a lot of company execs travel here from other places and they were spending so much on hotels that one of the accountants suggested it would be cheaper to just buy the hotel next door. Stayed at the Ethan Allen in Danbury CT this weekend. Check in is at 3pm. I arrived at 3:15pm and was told there were no rooms ready. Meanwhile after driving 5 hours I was forced to sit and wait two hours for a room to be ready for me to checkin. Meanwhile other guests were checked in with no wait at all. Finally was granted access to a room at 5:15pm. Not acceptable EAH. Will not be returning as i book yearly same time and place each year. read more

I would expect great friendly service from a hotel boosting a quality furniture name. Front desk and bar employees weren't friendly. Did their bare minimum required without being rude. Hotel room is ok. It's maybe just a little nicer than a Marriott. You get a seating area which is nice but not needed for one night. Walls are thinner than thin. I could hear everything said and everyone using water on the floor. Also the hallways were weird and require a long walk. I've stayed here a few times over the past three years and it's one of my favorite hotels in the area. The rooms are fantastic and have a living room/lounge area that has a couch, chair and desk. This area is nearly a separate room from the bed. Speaking of the bed, it's fantastic, super comfortable and I wish I owned the mattress and I may have to look into purchasing one. I also loved the sheets, they are high quality and added to the overall comfort of the bed. I loved that the temp in the room was easily controlled and adjustable. Both TVs in the room were great and there were more than enough channel options. The bathrooms could use very minor updates but are not by no means in bad shape. During busy times, elevators can be a bit slow, but nothing too unreasonable. read more

Ethan Allen offered a Thanksgiving Brunch for 42.00 per person and 21 for kids over 5-12, however what they didnt write in there advertisement was that there was a 20% gratitudies charge's Included on top of the charges plus tax. It turned out to be more like a 60 dollar per person after everything. When we got the bill it was almost 60 per person....totally false advertising. I have a copy of the advertisement . Also, the food wasnt all that great. They advertised 42 per person but when we got the bill it was 44 plus 20% extra fees and taxes. Ethan Allen should no better then to mislead people....and lose customers. The coffee was very bitter and low grade, so i decided to drink tea. The prime rib wasnt that good and i didnt see any shrimp that was on the menu displayed on the brunch tables. The room they had us in was ice cold. No heat on and when you have kids with you it becomes a real issue. read more

Stayed here for a wedding which was at the Hotel. The ballrooms are great and the wedding fantastic, but this review is for the rooms and general facilities. The rooms are adequate but in need of a modernization renovation. The rooms at first blush are clean and presentable. However; there's a significant lack of power outlets and most are hidden behind walls, headboards, TV's, etc.. The bedroom has just one night stand instead of two. The rooms have a rather smallish living room area and a bedroom. There's a dormer fridge, didn't even open it, but it's there. Rooms were pretty quite, didn't hear much noise at all from outside my room. Outside, looks a bit neglected. Not much attention to detail especially in the back parking lot. Several issues here. Handicap parking is not well marked , some spots just had a faded painted spot and others that are marked but the signage is literally hidden behind a tree and neither were painted in blue. Theres also a fountain by one of the back doors, where the water is rather slimy. Why even have the fountain If it's going to spew polluted looking water? However there's plenty of parking around the rather large low rise hotel. If I was to stay in Danbury again, I'd stay here if Hotel Zero, in same general area, was sold out. read more

Jason M. and I attended a wedding there last Saturday. Holy Moly, it was quite a grand place; fitting for a royal occasion! The wedding we went had 210 guests, but the place was so huge that there was still plenty of elbow room. The cocktail hour was fab and loved the meatballs and cheese plate. Though my swordfish plate was just okay, the beef dish was flavorful and filling! In general, I have learned to just get the beef dish at weddings! The dessert table was to die for as I stuffed my face with a lot of petit fours! The dance floor was huge like the Dancing with the Stars set; great for Jason and me to get our groove on...lol! Bathrooms were very updated and clean! I hope to go there for another wedding/event in the future! read more

Came for a Mother's Day brunch. Came to close to $60/head after taxes. I'm fairly certain all the food I ate was frozen and microwaved. $60 for a buffet meal is bad enough, but to put out food like that at that price is unforgivable. I left the French toast on my plate. The potatoes were undercooked. Literally the best thing I ate was a chicken tender which definitely was frozen and just dropped in a deep fryer. The tablecloth on the table was dirty before we even sat down. Good service, granted not much service was required for a buffet meal. Clean and friendly staff. Easy to get to off the highway and central to the places we were visting. Walls are thin and we heard doors closing throughout the night and our neighbors talking. Would suggest getting the system that most hotels have now to help the doors close smoothly and quietly. Thought it strange to not have any water in the room, so we had to drive to a near by gas station to get some water. Parking seemed to get full quickly, although there was two events during our stay and we got back after 9 most nights. Overall an average hotel, no big complaints. read more
