I purchased a beautiful loveseat almost six years ago. I love the fabric and the style. I keep it covered and it looks like new. Two months ago one of the foundational springs broke. E.A. said it could not be repaired (WHAT?) and the fabric was discontinued. How can a $3,000 loveseat spring not be repaired? And what kind of crappy quality are they selling for an upscale price? I am disgusted by Ethan Allen. They refused to consider or recommend any local business to repair the springs. Their quality has greatly diminished, and the customer service is nil. To top it off, they look like they are going out of business. There are fewer furniture pieces to consider, and they were closed for lunch when I tried to visit the store. Not good. I don't like being ripped off and treated like I'm a sucker. We purchased 4 bar stools in June of 2021. We were told it would take 6-10 weeks and we were fine with that. We didn't receive the stools at the end of August, so we contacted Ethan Allen. They said we'd receive them in September. Then, October. Then, November. Then, December. I was actually fine with this because I understand that there are severe supply chain issues and people are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Stuff happens. However, it was annoying that we had to repeatedly contact them instead of them letting us know what was going on. Finally, in January, 2022, we received the stools after inquiring once again. They look nice but upon reviewing the invoice, there's a $199 delivery fee. WTF. read more

After paying $1,200 for a decorative table 5 years ago bubbles are coming up all over the top. Ethan Allen says it's because we use Liquid Gold to clean it. Liquid Gold disputes this. So do we. They want to charge us another $200 for a new top. No, we will simply never shop there again and tell everyone we know how happy they were to take our money but how fast they run away from any warranty issues. read more

We came in last weekend to order a new couch, and one of the designers (Carol) walked us through everything and even helped keep our toddler occupied with a coloring book while we looked at color swatches. My experiences are from a couple of years ago. I've waited to see if time would make me less irritated with this company, but it has not. There isn't space here to describe everything, but suffice it to say that customer service doesn't appear to be a lived value at the Lynnwood store. The experience/process was a pain in the butt from the beginning to the end. I bought several items, and then, after ordering still more items and getting less than stellar help from the "designer" assigned to me, the manager had to get involved. I ended up cancelling the last order I was so angry. The store does (or did) keep a list of people who do certain tasks such as upholster, etc. I lost the name of one of the people referred to me and called one of the current designers to see if she could help. She didn't know who I was talking about but assured me that she'd call me with the name of someone who could help. I think it's been about 3 weeks now, so I'm guessing she isn't calling. I didn't show up with my checkbook/credit card in hand, so they apparently aren't interested. I ended up spending over $12K at the store and have some lovely items to show for it. I do not have pleasant memories of the experience and will make it a point to purchase any other items elsewhere. The nice items just aren't worth the aggravation. We employed an Ethan Allen design consultant after a lengthy search for a comfortable sofa and complimentary pieces for our odd-shaped living room. We provided our consultant with a very substantial budget. Our first concern arose when the total of our design presentation added up to just shy of our maximum cap. Curious, we thought. But we agreed, trusting the outcome would be all she promised: comfort, style and an attractively finished room based upon her design. At the time of her presentation choices, we voiced our concerns with both the firmness of the sofa cushions she selected as well as the rough fabric she chose for both the sofa and a coordinating chair. We were assured the firmness of the sofa cushions would soften as would the fabric over time. It has been a year + and neither has proven true. Furthermore, the cushion samples she provided at the showroom were nothing like what we received. We absolutely HATE the sofa and the chair is no better. In addition, she chose 3 ottomans for a 13' x 18'room. At the time of arrival (4 months later), we immediately recognized that the design and furniture were entirely off. Two of the ottomans made virtually no sense and, after a battle, the manager, upon seeing for herself, agreed they did not work with our space and kindly returned them. We feel we were oversold and our concerns disregarded as secondary factors over our consultant's primary design expertise. We're now trying to figure out how to get rid of our sofa, utterly disappointed with the whole experience. read more

Ordered a dinning room table. They told me all their furniture custom made to order and would take several months. I ordered & finally got a call that the table would arrive. It was two months & I was excited to get this new table. Two men brought in & assembled it. I noticed one man tasking a photo of the table top. I looked and there was a chunk of wood broken off the edge of the table where it joined in the middle. He said he would repot the damage. I waited so long & I get a table that is damaged. Why could they have just made a new table top and have me wait a few more days or a week. Delivering the fist piece of furniture I bought from Ethan Allen broken is vey disappointing. I called and was told someone will come out to fix it. Now I will have a damaged table with a repair. It will never be like a new table. I paid full price & was not offered a chance to return it or get a discount. The table is substantial and grand looking. Except for the flaw right in the middle it is perfect. I feel they should inspect the furniture before shipping it. What a disappointment. Update: I got a new table, it took a while but this one is perfect. Ethan Allen is a place for quality and apparently mostly custom furniture. I wanted to order a large tufted leather sectional. There are a ton of options for the frame, the arms, the back, the cushions and of course the fabric. After about 90 minutes I had built my sectional. 12 grand and about twelve weeks until delivery. I'm more about immediate gratification, honestly. I went to Macy's, got something very similar delivered in ten days and it was about seven grand with tax and delivery. EA is a swell place selling quality products. It just isn't a great match for me. read more

I recently purchased an Ethan Allen Cameron Extension table. I decided to purchase the table from Ethan Allen because I had heard from friends and family that Ethan Allen pieces are lifetime pieces that hold up extremely well. My sister has an Ethan Allen table that she purchased 12+ years ago that has held up extremely well so I expected that I would receive the same quality. I purchased the Cameron table by calling the Lynnwood WA Ethan Allen store. I received the table in early October 2017. Upon delivery of the table I noticed some very light micro scratches already on the table. With very light use (because we have another informal dining table we use for everyday) I have noticed more and more of the micro scratches and they now cover most of the table. We only use the table for formal dining and card games and puzzles. We've only had the table since October and it sits by a window so the micro scratches are now extremely noticeable all day. I contacted Customer Service in November of 2017 and didn't hear anything back so I contacted Lynette at the Lynnwood Store and she put in another request to Customer Service. I finally received a call from Brian at Ethan Allen today and he told me that surface scratches are not covered under Ethan Allen's warranty and that there is nothing Ethan Allen will do for me. I explained that I have never spent this much on a table before and was expecting it to be a lifetime piece, but after only a few months I am embarrassed by how it looks. He actually told me the only thing I could do was take a scotch brite sponge and orbital sander to the table. I'm not experienced in furniture repair and I don't own an orbital sander much less know how to use one and it seems to me a sander would remove the finish. I requested at least a discount on the table as I will have to now pay someone to repair and put a better finish on the table for me, but Brian said that he couldn't do anything. After I filed a complaint with the BBB, Corporate called and told me they'd give me 40% off a table pad. What a joke! I am disappointed and sick about the amount of money I spent for something that I expected much, much better quality of. I am extremely disappointed that Ethan Allen will not stand behind their products and for their insincere and uncaring customer service. It's disheartening that corporations that once had integrity now succumb to their bottom line over quality and customer service. read more

I went into this place on a whim....Let's just say this was my "just looking" choice for couch shopping. By the time I left the store I had decided that a $1500 couch was WELL worth the investment. You want something to last a long time, right? That's how good the sales people were...Or maybe I just really was tired of looking at crappy furniture? Anyways - the atmosphere was nice & calm. No loudy music or crowded feeling. The store is set up like a home, not a warehouse. Nice way to view expensive furniture :) I LOVE that they have hundreds of fabrics to chose from and I LOVE that the sales woman was willing to take nearly an hour of her time helping me pick out the perfect couch & material to cover it... Oh & the furniture designs at Ethan Allen are ones you most likely will have a hard time finding elsewhere...Good luck if you like well made furniture with a contemporary look & don't want Ikea. I'm really sorry that I could not end up going back to get said couch but I will be back to Ethan Allen when I have more money! I PROMISE! read more

Ethan Allen has some incredible pieces, but their sales staff needs a refresher in how to be attentive but not overly salesy. From the moment we walked in the door, we were not given a second to browse the showroom by ourselves. When we finally chose a piece that we liked, we sat down to receive a quote and learned there was a 10-12 week wait for the custom furniture. I know people speak highly of how fabulous Ethan Allen is, but the company really needs to join the 21st century and speed up the delivery process. No matter how good of quality the furniture is, if you've just moved into a new house (like we have), you want to have your furniture before the end of the summer & they can't make that happen. They do have quick-ship options, but that only speeds things up to be 8 weeks. May order some lamps online, but won't come to the showroom again because of the pressure to buy and lack of skilled salespeople. Our sales person was even disappointed to hear that we were already working with an interior designer! read more

We refurnished an entire room- our great room off the kitchen. We worked with Pamela Crawford who did an exceptional job. I never realized the employees at Ethan Allen are designers. Pamela came to our house to take measurements and discuss design options. We then met at the store to go over fabrics and furniture options. We are so happy we stopped in the store. We love all of our furniture and the room turned out perfect. We would highly recommend Ethan Allen and the Lynnwood store. We plan to go back for help with other projects. The furniture is of high quality and worth every penny. read more

I have purchased a lot of furniture from this Ethan Allen. The furniture is well made and I've been fairly happy with it. The design services are good, too, but the delivery and follow through after you order furniture is horrible. Once you place an order, the salesperson you work with completely forgets you exist. The orders take too long, in most cases, to arrive. The salesperson tells you that the expected date on the receipt is the last possible date that the furniture will arrive but the truth is that it is usually the first possible date it will arrive! I would have appreciated the feeling that the salesperson was keeping track of the order and called me to give a status update. Come on folks, you can do better. read more

Poor Customer Service: They made an error on billing; when pointed out, rather than apologize, the customer service was awful and as I progessed up the management chain to get corrected it only got worse. A little apology and follow through would have gone a long way. Instead, I will never recommend them to anyone again after being an Ethan Allen customer the previous 20 years. read more

Beautiful store, and great service. Our decorator, Pamela was wonderful. My new husband and I are combining our furniture and decorating styles.....which can be very trying. Pamela seemed to "get it" and was able to help us select some things that met both of our needs...a gorgeous sofa and ottoman (both happened to be on sale). Now we are looking for area rugs and I'm sure she'll be able to find some things we can agree on. I love this store. It's high quality mostly American made, and we will be back. I like being greeted at the front desk when I walk in. Plus they have fun events, like a display of decorated She-sheds, and a visit from Cisco. read more

I had an excellent experience with one of the Design Consultants at this location. The Designer was great. She offered an array of options/suggestions and was very helpful as I narrowed down my choices. I chose a very expensive custom sofa using one of the leather samples that was presented to me as an option. I placed my order and waited nearly 5 months to receive my sofa. The sofa was delivered and I was surprised to find that it was covered in a fabric that did not match the leather sample in the store. There was distinct differences in color, grain, texture, etc. I immediately contacted the store and was asked to bring in a cushion so that they could see the differences. When I was in the store, the Design consultant and manager agreed that there were differences and asked that I leave the cushion over night so that other people could look at it. The following day I received a call and was told the differences were within the acceptable Ethan Allen standard. After arguing with the store manager, I was told that there was nothing that they would not allow a return on a custom order. I was presented with no options. After multiple threats, multiple back and forth phone calls, they finally agreed to take the sofa back. However, the store manager offered to return the sofa with a $300 restocking fee, which I agreed to. The following day I was told that it would be $429. I again argued with the store manager. Why is it the customers fault if they receive something they DID NOT order??? Why must a customer be financially penalized for the company's mistake? After an exhaustive experience, I gave up and agreed to pay the $429 fee to have the sofa returned. I was told I would have my money refunded within 1-2 business days after the sofa was picked up. It's now 1 week and I still have not received a refund because the store manager went on vacation and no one else in the store followed up, gave me a status... nothing. Again, I had to initiate communication and action. Lack of communication, no follow through and inaccurate quoting/statements has been my experience. I caution you to ensure the fabric you choose is truly the fabric you receive. I also caution you to be weary of what you're told verbally because it changes depending on who you talk to. We bought a desk that was shipped through North Carolina. The desk is beautiful. The delivery was a nightmare. They had to come twice. The first time they measured it and said it will not fit so they left. The delivery people did not have a clue. No tools or the ability to put the desk in properly. So the expert came on the second delivery. He got the desk in but he scratched door jams on two doors and he scratched my desk badly. Ethan Allen never called to see how the delivery went.
