One of Portland's home decor/gift stores, you'll find a lot of unique crafted concoctions such as their hand-made pillows, socks, baby unis, gift mugs, books, and other interesting collectibles. We bought a couple stickers here to commerorate our time visiting Portland. My girlfriend also bought a children's forest book for her nephew who enjoyed it. He mentioned he wants to visit Portland with us next time and I concur. Worth a visit due to the unique items, cleanliness, and welcoming vibes. Keeping Portland weird, yet interesting!

While I didn't purchase anything form the store, it is cute and if you are looking for local unique (both fun and practical) items as gift for someone while visiting Portland or a gift to bring back home to someone or to ship something from home, this is a great little store. They have a number of Pacific North West, Oregon and National Park themed items available. They had pillows, games, books, candles, glasses and a variety of adult and PNW branded children / babies clothes as well. What I found most appealing was the local card and unique wrapping paper section, which I will definitely come back, browse and purchase from myself. Oh - I am also a fan of stickers and they had the best selection I've seen here in Portland to date! After I did a bit more research on the store when I got home, I discovered that the store was named after the owners two (2) rescue dogs ~ "they represent to use that essence of comfortable den home, not too fussy and full of life!" I am a huge rescue dog fan and this made me smile and have even a great affinity for making recommendations to friends, near or far, to check them out. The website describes the store as "the ideal shop should offer unique nad well-designed products at affordable prices - in an inviting, approachable, relaxed atmosphere.."

Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Pottery Barn advising that my order had been delivered. The box has no mention of PB. I queried the product on Umbra's website and found that, not only is Umbra the manufacturer, but PB is marking up the product by $50 and failing to disclose that it is manufactured and shipped directly by this company, which also sells this product through mas retailer Walmart for $117 with free shipping. When I phoned Pottery Barn to complain and request an adjustment for bait and switch, I was advised that I may be able to return the product to a local store (a 30-minute drive each way), could return it via UPS at my expense, or could accept a $30 "courtesy credit." With a house primarily furnished in Pottery Barn wares, Im disgusted in how this was handled and with the lack of disclosure in product advertising. I expect more from a company that prides itself on offering unique high end merchandise. Do your research...check Walmart, Target and other discount stores before considering Pottery Barn. It's not what you think it is.

Think HomeGoods or HomeSense stores, but much MUCH higher end. That about encapsulates this place. The store itself is one large, open concept floor. It has all sorts of kitchen gadgets and linens, gourmet foods/condiments, patio furniture and gardening accessories, home furnishings and household accessories. Nothing is cheap here, literally or figuratively. Everything is super well-made, but very pricey. My kid saw a pizza platter here for $20 that she purchased the day before at HomeGoods for $4.99. The exact same item. That said, this place carries a lot of brands and items that you cannot find elsewhere, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about their product lines. I liked their selection of retro wall clocks in a rainbow of colors, each for about $50 (I thought that was reasonable). Also, note that their sale prices on items are excellent deals. And they also carry smaller scale, cute gift things, on carousels by the front counter. I got my friend a cute pair of socks here.

There are elegant linens in all shades of neutral (white, cream, gray) with pillows and throws in pops of color or texture neutrals. The guest towels are just charming! Lots of small home decor items that are carefully selected, simple, yet one of a kind. Trays for your trinkets in a textured sand pattern or subtle animal print. Tissue box covers that transform that cardboard box into part of your decor. Wonderful scented candles. My favorite area is the jewelry. I can't stop by the Manor without checking out the treasures, many from local artists, and definitely pieces that are not mainstream. Service is exceptional; if you are the type that want hands on assistance as you select items to refresh your bathroom or replace your bedding, they happily oblige. Or if you are like me and want to wander on your own and take it all in, preferring to seek assistance only if needed, they let you be. Definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is equally high. They always have an area with sale items, especially after Christmas, so make sure to check it out for fantastic deals.

At no point during the sales process were we told that the orders were non-returnable. When the couches arrived, one of them did not match the fabric swatch we were shown in the store. The other one never even made it into our home--the delivery team could not get it up the stairs. When we reached out to Joybird, they refused to accept a return, refused a refund, and refused to take responsibility--on either couch. Instead, they pointed us to fine print on their website about their company policies. It would be one thing if: - The sales associate had clearly explained that all orders were final. - We were pointed to explicit fine print before purchasing. - The product delivered actually matched what we were shown. But none of that happened. There are many other furniture companies that treat customers far better and stand behind what they sell. I strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.

The new location on the north side of NW 23rd, right next to Pottery Barn, is quite the showplace! It's absolutely stunning! With four floors of show rooms, including the rooftop terrace with gorgeous all weather furniture pieces, fountains and planters, it's worth a visit just to check out the spectacular view! RH has a style - industrial modern - and their showroom floors showcase their large pieces of streamlined furniture, textiles, and exquisite lighting beautifully. This is not furniture for an 1800 square foot house! Their sectional couches are huge! As are their chandeliers, coffee tables and wall cabinets. For me, the decor would work best in a high end hotel lobby or very large, spacious house. While visiting yesterday, it was refreshing to see rooms done in cappuccino colors after seeing nothing but gray for so long. I'm not knocking gray, my own house has lots of gray and creams, but it's nice to have options in the neutral range. In addition to selling furniture, they are a design house and will work with you to design a new home, remodel or just refresh a room or two. Or if you are like me, and wondered in just to check out the new digs, they encourage you to browse. Price point is very high, but for the clientele they target, it's not a problem. While I don't have any of their furniture, my bathrooms are stocked in their Egyptian towels and robes, a splurge when I bought my new condo. That purchase put me on their distribution list for their 5 pound catalog that comes out twice a year. Make it stop! What a waste of trees and the poor postal service workers! It's literally as heavy as the old Yellow Pages Phone Book, for those of you old enough to remember. RH really needs to eliminate this unnecessary piece of marketing that immediately gets tossed into the recycle bin. If you are all about modern, then use digital to update your clients on your new designs.
