So I'm back giving another update and review of Ethos. I'm still here and finally got my purple belt last year. I can't imagine training anywhere else. Both instructors Ron and Jerry are phenomenal instructors who foster an amazing training environment for all walks of life and for the different reasons people train whether it's for self defense, competition or just exercise. Ron and Jerry also have competent and capable instructors who help teach and train to r classes. These assistant instructors are top notch as competitors and teachers. Started training here a month ago and couldn't be happier. Great instruction - all classes run by black belts (Ron and Jerry) - they know their stuff and are very involved/ hands-on and training/ helpful/ quick to share their knowledge. Everyone in the academy is super welcoming to both newcomers and "migrating" higher belts. :) Also, the academy is super clean (mats cleaned/ disinfected throughout the day) which is really nice (and you can't say for all academies..). Good kids program too (WISH my parents got me training at that age...). Highly recommend! read more

Here we are two+ years( +\ - a few) later and just now writing this. Well worth the wait though Ok, Rewinding back to 2.5 years.........It started with me telling my husband that he needed to find hobby. That hobby turned into a lifestyle In less than a month. He was waking up at 6 am 5-6 days a week to "roll" right before work. I swear, he wasn't obsessed(winking face) My husband explained to me multiple times the benefits to this new lifestyle and decided to enroll 2 of 4 of our kids. Our two older kids weren't as stoked as their dad.They thought it was just another activity to keep them off electronics. Maybe it was (shhhhh) but with the patience of Ron,Jerry, and Wendy our children have grown with so much confidence in who they are today. No words or at least mine could explain how thankful we are to find this place. Phenomenal teaching and great mix of students and belts levels in each class makes the rolling fun and always some tuff rolls but even beyond this the culture of Ethos is really awesome the people are great, the black belts and upper belts really set the example. Pre COVID, we moved locally and needed to find a new BJJ school for the kids. Great gym. Of course there are more men than girls, but there are enough of us to train if that makes you more comfortable. The mats are new and clean, very spacious so you don't bump into each other; the people are friendly and of all ages. Morning and evening classes, open mats on Friday and Saturday, gi and no gi. This is a great studio. The coaches are great. They really take the time to make sure the students are learning the different moves.

My 2 kids (11 & 13) started with Ethos on day 2 of their opening. They had never had previous training prior to this. Coming from an athletic crossfit background, my kids transitioned quickly and fell in love with this sport. The coaches Ron & Jerry (brown belts birthed out of Leon JiuJitsu) are very patient, and make each student feel welcomed and a part of the team. In just a few short months, they've had opportunities to roll with different belts and learn so many vital self defense skills. I began a month ago & truly appreciate the patience and the passion these coaches have for beginners. I look forward to rolling and growing in this new journey.
