Jaysen Baxter Jiu Jitsu is a great place if you're looking to have self defense on your background or for competitive athletes! The gym recently offered new classes to their schedules. Ages 4+ for kids class Mon-Thurs and wrestling on Fridays. For adults, there is a beginner class on MW and Sundays. Following after is another adult competition class and holds comp classes on Saturdays as well. This one is my favorite, the women's classes on Tu/Th! All the coaches are welcoming as well as the upper belts in the dojo. When I first joined they were always so helpful and took their time to go over basics with me before the beginning classes were offered. There is always good laughs going on before and after rolls. The environment is definitely a good one, but the coaches also appreciate when we respect their time. This dojo feels like a second home where everyone comes here to just train jiu jitsu. This will be a bit long so please bear with me :) My 14 year old son expressed an interested in learning self-defense which began my search for a BJJ school to attend. During my search I spoke with and stopped by several schools. Everyone was nice but I was unable to find a good "fit", until I found BTT Fullerton & Professor Baxter. It was easy to join and after my son's first lesson I knew this was the school for us. Professor Baxter and the members provide an open family atmosphere at all times. In the short time my son has been training, I have seen him grow both physically and mentally. After watch my son for a few months, I began to reminisce on the fun I had being part of a small team and decided it was time to join. I had not attend a martial arts class in over 25 years and was a mediocre high school wrestler at best which cause me a tremendous amount of apprehension; however, Professor Baxter and the members understand my limitations and work within my abilities. I have been coming to BTT for almost three months. The atmosphere is extremely positive and it truly has family feeling. When you come in you are treated as family and not a single person is unwelcoming. One thing I notice as the children class leave is they are always happy and smiling. There was even a Easter hunt. First things first, this is a great gym. The atmosphere in the gym is awesome; everyone is friendly and welcoming. The instructors are very technical practitioners and it shows in their teaching style. The gym is open seven days a week with morning and evening classes on weekdays so there are plenty of opportunities to train. I'm so happy my first experience with any sort of martial arts has been with Brazilian Top Team Fullerton. Coming into any setting as a complete beginner is always a bit unnerving and embarrassing but the coaches and the team here are incredibly welcoming, patient and knowledgeable. Sparring with Junior really helped me out in terms of tightening up a few things (my over under pass) and dealing with counters different from those taught at my school.
