Our experience with MTLA FULLERTON has been an excellent. I believe my son was the first member in the kids program. He has autism, but the coaches (Khoa, Mike and I forgot the new coaches name) have been patient but firm and work well with him. I myself trained on and off for 14 years and will start training with the team when my health improves. Check'em out. They teach great technique and have everything you need to get into fighting shape. Thank you guys!

Bottom Line Up Front: I give this gym 5 out of 5 stars --…read moreand that says a lot because I've been training in martial arts since 1995 and am a certified instructor in multiple systems. But let me break it down as to why it gets my seal of approval. What You'll Learn: Rounders offers multiple martial arts: Boxing, Muay Thai (kickboxing), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kali (a Filipino knife-fighting system), and Mixed Martial Arts (which combines striking, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu). In the past they have also offered wrestling and Judo. So there's something for everyone. Regardless of what class you pick, you'll learn how to protect yourself while getting a great workout. What You'll Gain: Like I mentioned, you'll get a killer workout in a safe and fun environment. According to some studies, you could burn anywhere between 300 to 800 calories in a single 1-hour kickboxing class. It's far more efficient (and fun!) than running on a treadmill. And the added bonus is that you'll learn self-defense along the way. Who You'll Meet: From co-owner Joe Kim to all the other instructors, the coaches here are physically talented, knowledgeable, and easy-going despite being deadly warriors. They create a positive atmosphere so that everyone -- from brand new rookies to combat sports veterans -- has fun while learning. And that trickles down through to the students, who are all supportive and welcoming. The Space: The gym is medium-ish in size compared to other gyms in the area; enough to hold one large group or two smaller sessions at the same time. The equipment is top notch. And the workout space is well maintained. There's also a small section for weight training, too. The Cost: I've visited other gyms with outrageous prices (like $200 a month for only Jiu-Jitsu!). Fortunately, tuition here is reasonably priced -- with options to drop-in, go month-to-month, or commit to 6 months or a full year. (The latter two doesn't mean you have to pay upfront, just that you'll be charged automatically for your chosen time frame and save more over the long term.) And considering those options give you unlimited classes for all of the martial arts classes, Rounders is totally worth it. Conclusion: Rounders MMA Fullerton is an ideal gym to join, whether you're looking to lose weight, learn some self-defense, or just belong to a cool community who will encourage and grow with you.

Within my first week here I already felt like family. Great environment, The coaches are amazing (Specifically Joe, Steve, and Miguel) I'm glad to have found a gym that I can call home. The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

If you aspire to fight at the highest levels, you'll have coaches and talent to support you. I've made life long friends at this gym, and I'm thankful for it. Now the value... some gyms pin you down with 4 sessions a week or just 1 martial art. At this gym, you get unlimited classes to Gi BJJ, NoGi BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, fitness. There's also a recovery room with things like red light therapy, massage boots, vibration plate, sauna, cold plunge, hyperbaric chamber. There's showers, lockers, and there's a coffee bar. Not to mention, a weight training area. So yea, you get way more bang for your buck. Also, if you're looking to fellowship, there's a weekly Bible study on Thursday nights. Open to anyone. I sound biased. And I am. But it's because of my experience at this gym.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is something that everyone should try at least once in their lives. Whether you're young or old, it's something important to each person, in your own personal way. Some people do it for exercise, some people do it for the challenge, some people like puzzle solving, and others simply to have a routine. The fact that we learn something that can be applied to your own life is what gravitated me to this martial arts. Preparing your own self awareness, figuring out how to adapt to different situation, and just knowing that you control your own fate is what appealed to me. That is what Coach Jeff promotes, the dynamic approach to this martial arts, that no one answer will be absolute, and to ultimately be the best version of yourself. Currently my youngest son attends classes, and gives him the lessons of life to be more mature, and be responsible for others. Little kids can get nervous to getting hurt, it's new, it's physical. But after a few classes, he understand it's all a game for now, his teammates challenge him, but not try to hurt him. It's fun to do, and also rewarding for the mind and body. There are also other alternative classes under the monthly membership plans, such as Thai Kickboxing, Eskrima, Physical wellbeing classes for the older groups, and wrestling for all ages. I recommend this class if you are someone that wants something outside the box, challenging, fun, and want a coach/team that inspires you to do better. Not a McDojo, where you are forced to dress a certain way, or do some repetitive dance like move for protection. This is actual everyday application that you can use for self defense.

Professor Jeff's background in pedagogy really shines through in his teaching style and I've learned so much both on and off the mats during my time here. Mythic truly covers all of your needs.
