The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

But let me break it down as to why it gets my seal of approval. What You'll Learn: Rounders offers multiple martial arts: Boxing, Muay Thai (kickboxing), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kali (a Filipino knife-fighting system), and Mixed Martial Arts (which combines striking, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu). In the past they have also offered wrestling and Judo. So there's something for everyone. Regardless of what class you pick, you'll learn how to protect yourself while getting a great workout. What You'll Gain: Like I mentioned, you'll get a killer workout in a safe and fun environment. According to some studies, you could burn anywhere between 300 to 800 calories in a single 1-hour kickboxing class. It's far more efficient (and fun!) than running on a treadmill. And the added bonus is that you'll learn self-defense along the way. Who You'll Meet: From co-owner Joe Kim to all the other instructors, the coaches here are physically talented, knowledgeable, and easy-going despite being deadly warriors. They create a positive atmosphere so that everyone -- from brand new rookies to combat sports veterans -- has fun while learning. And that trickles down through to the students, who are all supportive and welcoming. Preparing your own self awareness, figuring out how to adapt to different situation, and just knowing that you control your own fate is what appealed to me. That is what Coach Jeff promotes, the dynamic approach to this martial arts, that no one answer will be absolute, and to ultimately be the best version of yourself. Currently my youngest son attends classes, and gives him the lessons of life to be more mature, and be responsible for others. Little kids can get nervous to getting hurt, it's new, it's physical. But after a few classes, he understand it's all a game for now, his teammates challenge him, but not try to hurt him. It's fun to do, and also rewarding for the mind and body. There are also other alternative classes under the monthly membership plans, such as Thai Kickboxing, Eskrima, Physical wellbeing classes for the older groups, and wrestling for all ages. I recommend this class if you are someone that wants something outside the box, challenging, fun, and want a coach/team that inspires you to do better. Not a McDojo, where you are forced to dress a certain way, or do some repetitive dance like move for protection. This is actual everyday application that you can use for self defense.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

We were craning our necks for a cool 20 minutes trying to figure out what the message meant and I didn't figure it out until looking it up on Reddit when I got home. Not exactly standard park entertainment, but definitely memorable. Also worth noting, right across the street we came across a full Zumba class happening in a small private studio. Apparently it runs every Thursday evening with a $7.00 cover. If you're into that kind of thing, it could be a fun way to switch things up. When i first join the gym i was so impressed on how structured everything is, starting from the bathrooms been amazingly tidy , the mats and the seating area,making sure all the students checked in as well! The coaches are very skilled and take great pride in their teachings, and always helping students to make sure everyone is leveling up together. They also have women class once a month that brings women from different gyms and coach will always help if u are newly. Love it here, very approachable. Expect to sweat buckets. As far as fundamentals, I say start Monday, Arthur's class is incredibly intense, great conditioning exercises, and very VERY respectful and inviting to me, the new guy. Then, go Wednesday the same week. You'll realize that Adam's class will very much focus on technique. Doesn't matter if your a fresh white belt or a blue belt, his drills are necessity. I highly suggest bringing water and a towel, it wouldn't hurt to bring a mouthpiece and a cup too... You never know, and that's why I enjoy training here! read more

This place is producing fighters and competitors of the highest level! UFC fighter Tony Ferguson is a product of this academy; Andrew Ramm is crushing the local Jiu Jitsu scene. These guys know what the deal is. This place is good for the averse student, also, however. Coach Nolan is an amazing striking coach and he will elevate your striking to the highest levels. The jiu jitsu programs are awesome. In terms of culture, the people and coaches create an environment where you can thrive. It's fun to be there and it caters to any level. If you're a first timer, you'll get taken care of. If you aspire to fight at the highest levels, you'll have coaches and talent to support you. I've made life long friends at this gym, and I'm thankful for it. Now the value... some gyms pin you down with 4 sessions a week or just 1 martial art. At this gym, you get unlimited classes to Gi BJJ, NoGi BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, fitness. There's also a recovery room with things like red light therapy, massage boots, vibration plate, sauna, cold plunge, hyperbaric chamber. There's showers, lockers, and there's a coffee bar. Not to mention, a weight training area. So yea, you get way more bang for your buck. Also, if you're looking to fellowship, there's a weekly Bible study on Thursday nights. Open to anyone. I sound biased. And I am. But it's because of my experience at this gym.

The pricing is more than fair and the kids can go as often as they like, allowing them to progress at their own pace and also work with the parents' schedules. One of the coaches has even fought in the UFC, which makes NOCMA even more 10/10 legit. We dropped into a morning class and were not disappointed. We were greeted by Professor Sam who was very welcoming and showed us the gym. Once class got started the techniques were explained in great detail and Sam was great at helping with micro adjustments to make them feel smooth. Sparring felt safe and controlled focusing on technique application. Highly recommend training at this gym if you are in the area.
