We contracted Emmanuel for the backyard project. He is unlicensed, or at least the license he showed us does not exist, so beware. He showed up initially and worked on weekends to show dedication. We started paying him as requested and continued to pay him for weeks, totaling around 45k. We soon realized that as the money that he was left with reduced by around 10k, he stopped caring. He did not level the surface or compact it before pouring concrete; we told him this would break the concrete. Yet, he poured concrete, so it broke soon. When I asked him to redo it, he said he would patch it, but it needs to be redone because the loose gravel compromises the integrity. He also failed to level the surfaces where pavers are to be installed, stating that water can flow sideways after installing two drains for such a large area on the edges, where water would not flow due to leveling. When I confronted him about multiple issues and asked him to leave the site because he was unwilling to redo the concrete, he became aggressive. He mentioned that he had had a similar disagreement with another person earlier, which led him to damage his yard in response. We had to contract another licensed contractor, who took $21,000 to do the remaining $10,000 job. So, never be nice and pay upfront; we paid him $ 42k for a job worth $20k.There were so many things remaining, compacting gravel for pavers, painting the fence, installing a pergola, fixing our driveway that he damaged, etc, and since the amount that was left for us to pay was little, he abdicated his duties. We hired Emanuel to fully renovate our backyard. Initially, when about a quarter of the project was completed, we were fairly satisfied and even considered leaving a positive review. However, once he had been paid for the bulk of his labor, the experience took a serious downturn--more disagreements arose, quality and structural integrity were compromised, and costs seemed to increase at every opportunity. It became apparent that he was trying to cut corners to offset labor costs, particularly by skimping on materials and equipment. We had to closely monitor his work just to maintain basic quality standards. On multiple occasions, we even had to share instructional videos on how to properly install pavers. We also discovered he did not have the necessary tools or equipment to handle the project. This forced us to step in, rent the required tools ourselves, and negotiate their charges. What began as a seemingly collaborative effort turned into a frustrating, tense, and ultimately dreadful experience. In the end, we realized he lacked both the skills and workmanship to complete the job. The project became a total nightmare, and we had to hire another contractor to finish it. read more

Emmanuel and his team were very responsive. He looked at the property, proposed some ideas, explained what he would do and what he would get. I got plants, he picked up black bark. His team replaced a bad fence and gate, removed old weeds and yard waste, trimmed plants and bushes, and hauled it all away. We booked them to do some more projects. Great guys! read more

Emmanuel and his crew helped me out with my front yard landscaping project and I was very happy with the work that they did. I typically do most of my yard work myself, so I had a pretty clear idea of what I was looking for going into it. Emmanuel was flexible in hearing out my ideas and provided some great suggestions on how to execute the job. In the end it was a hybrid of both our ideas. As with any project, some flexibility is required by both parties regarding timing and strategy. We adjusted days of planned work throughout the project and worked late on the final day to finish the job. EUA just completed a 200 sq ft pathway and patio addition to our side yard, pouring 120 sq ft of new concrete and laying 200 sq ft of Arizona flagstone with brick border, to match our existing patio and walkway. It involved extending and paving the side walkway, paving an existing raised concrete patio area (with facing sandstone), and pouring and paving a new patio section. We received three bids for this project, and while EUA was not the lowest bidder, Emmanuel met with us to completely understand the project, showed us photos of similar projects that he had done, and offered suggestions on design/details that we incorporated. The job was scheduled for week of 9/13, but his crew was able to complete the job over this past weekend (9/11-12), with touchup and clean-up completed today (9/13). We are very happy with the quality of work, especially in matching our existing flagstone-brick design/appearance. Emmanuel proved to be honest and reliable, and we would definitely consider and recommend him for other projects such as this. read more

Then the front yard we did correcting the slope, concrete, paver tiles, retaining walls and decoration on retaining walls. We had an outdoor project to renovate a shed. The shed required electricity, had to be moved 3 feet from the fence. Emmanuel and team did a fabulous job with this. If I could give a zero star I would! Emmanuel confirmed with me via e-mail on Monday, May 10, 2021 that he would have a crew come out to do my landscaping project on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, however no one bothered to show up??? It wasn't until 12:41 pm that day that I was contacted by Emmanuel via e-mail stating, "My 2 workers will go tomorrow is that fine." No explanation on why no one showed up? Here is it Thursday, May 13 2021, and at 1:50 pm I had to leave a voicemail for Emmanuel asking where his crew was. I also sent him an email stating my frustration with his lack of commitment to do the landscaping project we agreed upon. I did receive an email back from him that basically said he only did an estimation, no money was received yet, he was busy doing two big projects, and didn't think it would take as long as it is with the two projects. And that he was fine with me looking elsewhere. I guess when you have a smaller project he will try to squeeze you in between the larger projects even if it means that he won't show up or keep you informed if there is a hold up getting your smaller project done. He also told me when we met that he isn't like those other contractors who don't show up and that he does show up because he wants good reviews on Yelp...so he basically LIED to me:( read more
