I have…read moreseveral life threatening illnesses, & am caught in the midst of new doctors and/or many attitude/negative changes to practices. Dr. D not only blamed me for my illnesses, that are inherited & very serious, he asked me where my neuropathy pain was. I briefly pointed to the 2 spots in my legs, then Dr. told me to "quit complaining". I came to him per my insurance company's suggestion because of the severity of my medical issues at 68 years old, also to ask him for a scan on my stomach/rectal area that had malignancy taken out about 2 years ago, that is painful 24/7 & has bled intermittently after the malignancy was taken out. He refused any scans, because he himself didn't diagnose it, also he hadn't read any of the 62 pages of medical records I brought in at 1st visit last week, from Lane County for the last 19 years. I asked him to please, per my insurance company's Case Management's request, send a referral to Palliative Care that I do qualify for. He refused that, too. My impression is that he wanted to start from scratch to make his own evaluation. If I wasn't so sick with internal bleeding issues, consistent stomach pains, alleged IBS/Crohns Disease (suggested by a specialist/provider last year), I would have been agreeable to Dr. D's requests, though partially, because I've had severe problems with stools (constipation), requiring hospitalization, since I was 8 years old, also possibly inherited. Dr. D said that my 2.5 years of low dose pain meds for Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, Osteoarthritis, etc.,etc., is the cause of my constipation. Again, he didn't read a thing about my past medical history the 19 years here in OR + other state I lived. This has been going on for 29 years. I don't mean only bathroom difficulties/issues, but severe & life threatening medical issues. I was put on SSDI in '97. To top this, he didn't continue my pain meds, so I'm cut off cold turkey. I felt as if I had to pull teeth for my heart meds, also he didn't prescribe me my Pro-Air asthma/COPD inhaler. His medical assistant also neglected to log in my very high systolic blood pressure reading because she intimated that "I have too many issues to put in necessary info". This girl had a bad attitude from the start, maybe due to having a bad day. Please note: I was refused any/all referrals, whether to Digestive or pain management. Dr. D said that he's an Internist & doesn't refer, also he said he doesn't specialize in Digestive issues (that's why I needed the referrals). I fired Dr. "D" the next day & have to wait a couple weeks to see a new Primary Care Dr. Time is of essence. I am scared. I hurt. The pain everywhere is unbearable, & I just want help from a doctor/specialist. I don't want to die like this. Staff in reception....awesome! Kim was so helpful, & the 2 other ladies went out of their way to help me log in my pages full of info on their tablet. I was very impressed, also grateful for them! I've been instructed by our state Senator, to contact Senior/Disabled Advocacy, because our senator is not happy with this issue & others from me/other patients. He wants to be apprised of what the State Advocacy says & does as far as my grievances, & I am to keep contact with the Senator. This, he said, is unacceptable! I will call/contact State Advocacy tomorrow, Monday. I wished it had worked out with Dr. "D".

I started going to Keiper Spine about 14 years ago with lower back pain, and for years, I would…read moreperiodically get cortisone injections in my spine that offered amazing relief. But about 5 years ago, the pain wasn't going away after the injection like it usually did, and in fact seemed to be going in a different direction. So, Dr. Keiper ordered an MRI of my left SI joint, and sure enough, that was a new problem. A year or two of successful cortisone injections fixed the problem - until it didn't. Dr. Keiper told me that there was a surgery he could perform that would probably relieve all of my pain, and I agreed to go forward with that plan. But my insurance, Blue Cross, denied me the surgery several times, claiming that it was not medically necessary. After the injections stopped working and surgery was going to be the only way for me to be free of almost constant pain while moving (On the 1 to 10 pain scale, I was between 6 and 8 the majority of my awake hours), which was severely impacting my quality of life. Even doing simple household chores like vacuuming, laundry, gardening, etc., was miserable. Finally, Blue Cross did approve the surgery, which was performed by Dr. Keiper, and the results have been amazing. For all of the years I have been seeing Dr Keiper and his other staff at Keiper Spine, I have always been impressed with the friendliness and professionalism from the front office to the nurses and medical assistants. I would highly recommend Dr. Keiper and his staff to anyone who is looking for relief from back pain. I think he is the best neurosurgeon in Oregon!

****FRAUD ALERT****…read more DO NOT USE THEM, I've never experienced worse service then i did here. They ask you to provide insurance info 3 days before visit or they will cancel. I sent mine, my daughter went in they tried to tell me every filling and root cancel she has ever had has failed and they need to redo all of it, phase 1 would be $8k, i said ok send me the breakdown, they did and we scheduled a few appointments, I was told my daughter needed a cleaning first they said they cleared the insurance it was 100% covered since she had one 7 months ago. They emailed me a breakdown of all the treatments which showed the cleaning was $0. I dropped my daughter off and once she was there they called demanding $140, i was confused and said its covered she said it wasn't so i said i have the email saying it is, she said oh i do see that and put me on hold and came back and said well the insurance doesn't cover this because she had it done 7 months ago so i need you to pay NOW. TOTAL bait and switch! I was fine to pay the $8K but I'm not paying a penny to a company who claims its free over and over then when they get you in the seat its oh we were wrong you owe now, not even a sorry! When i said i wasn't paying they stopped her exam in the middle of it and told her to go. I've never been so offended in my life! I've reported them for fraud!

I went to Dr. Sullivan in hopes that after more than 5 years of hiding my teeth when I talked or smiled, I'd be able to get some confidence back. I'm uncomfortable all the time after a front tooth crown he placed back in June. I've made many, many visits back to get adjustments as none of my other crowns on this same tooth have been uncomfortable, so I knew it wasn't supposed to feel this way. At my last visit, as he was adjusting the back, he must have accidentally hit the bottom of the crown and sliced part of it off. This is one of my front two top teeth, and now one is shorter than the other. I noticed it immediately and asked him about it. He completely denied having done it, even though I pointed out that I walked into the office that day with both of my two front teeth being the same length. What followed is nothing short of shame tactics on his part. Telling me he can never make me happy (gaslighting), when all I've been striving for is to make my mouth comfortable again, the way it was before this crown. I never nit picked the aesthetics of his work. His crowns have all been beautiful and matched perfectly, which I've let him know each time. I went to a different dentist and upon examination he let me know that I am uncomfortable due to crowding on my bottom teeth (something Dr. Sullivan had recognized in December and was working on for me). Basically, my bottom tooth wants to be where my crown is, so of course I'm uncomfortable. I'm going to an orthodontist next and hope to finally feel better. What's heartbreaking is that I am hiding my smile again, as the bottom of the crown has been sliced off. And since I don't plan to get the crown replaced, I will be hiding my smile for a very, very long time. I don't expect perfection in dentists, as they are human, too! But owning up to and admitting mistakes instead of gaslighting and demeaning me would have been a better way to handle that situation. I probably wouldn't have gone back, but I also wouldn't be writing this review right now. To his credit, he did give me all my money back. He also does work with labs that create perfect looking crowns.

I called their office at 8:20 Monday morning and requested an rx; it's now Wednesday night and my pharmacy still doesn't have the prescription even though I know the doctor approved it on Tuesday. I've called them back twice and so has my pharmacist, NOTHING. I now have a painful ear infection I could have prevented. Even the best doctor can't treat patients well if his office is poorly run.
