I've been coming to Eunha Hair for haicuts for almost 7 years now, and I don't plan on changing that! Eunha and her staff have been excellent to me through and through. I even changed my hairstyle several times until I found one that stuck; shout out to Summer for always having my back I went from the usual "Asian guy haircut" (medium length on top, short on the sides + back), to a perm, and I'm now enjoying a nice undercut look every 5-6 weeks. As a non-Korean speaker, I (English only) have had virtually no issues with communicating what I need. Since limiting our footprint due to COVID we haven't been frequenting our favorite salon we usually go to in Manhattan. This place is within walking distance from our house so we decided to give it a try. I called to make an appointment and the person who picked up spoke both English and Korean. I agree with previous reviews that they're not too friendly over the phone. Oh well. We asked for whoever was available. My husband got his hair cut by Hani. He showed her a picture of what he usually likes and she recreated it in a heartbeat. She was super fast and he could tell she was very experienced. The fade wasn't as close cut as we were used to, but for the price tag we were very satisfied. The cut was $30 pre-tax. He has gone there one more time since then. The salon takes social distancing seriously and I was asked to leave unless I was getting my hair done. This place is my go to place. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is worth it. I get my hair cut by Hani every year. She remembers her clients and give exactly what they want while giving advice about how to style and what looks best for your face shape and events. If you show her an image of what you want you will get that cut. She is very passionate about her work and it shows in the way she cuts and interacts with clients. As this is a more pricey cut I recommend to get a cut that you have never gotten before or ask for a cut that looks flattering on you. read more

I decided to try this place out after finding it on yelp and seeing the positive reviews. I made a reservation for Japanese straight perm ("magic"). On a Tuesday morning, I was the only customer. However, towards the latter half of the morning and around noontime, it became really busy. Especially because it's still summer break, so many Korean mothers brought their kids to get their hair cut. There's parking in the back of the store - there's a garage that's below ground. I didn't want to risk being in a tight space, so I just parked on the street, which was super packed with cars. Throughout the whole straightening process, the stylist was careful not to burn my scalp or ears (there were paper covers on them). I was offered tea/coffee and magazines to read. I didn't feel neglected. I was done in 3.5 hours, and it cost $200 because I have a lot of hair and it's medium length. I got a rewards card, so I can rack up points. Will never come here again. Snobby and rude to my child both Euna and the front desk person. Don't take your kids here for a cut. She made rude remarks while cutting my hair and it made me feel so uncomfortable. So disappointed in her lack of class and cold hearted demeanor towards children. Avoid avoid avoid! Barber shops have their place--and when I want a proper fade-tape, that's where I'd go; but when it comes to styling hair, I've found this spot to be quite rewarding. I can bring in a picture of the style I want to go with, and talk through the issues with my hair when it comes to my attempts to style--and they've been really good about making the adjustments needed in order to make styling in between cuts SO much easier. The price points fall in line with a decent cut, and the perm that I get in order to tame my stubborn hair (I definitely don't go curly, but it adds some slight waves, and allows the hair to naturally sit back where I need it) was a little north of $100. So far this place is my go-to, and though it's crazy out of the way for us, since the hair grows in fairly nicely, I don't find myself going every week/every other week for follow ups so it (sort of) makes it more worthwhile. read more

Eun Ha always kills it!!!! I've been going to her to get a hair cut every 6 months. I've always had long hair and have always asked her to cut off all my dead ends but still keep my hair long. This salon has been my go-to ever since their opening. Eunha is so well known and loved amongst the community that when she left her previous job to open this shop, all of her regulars moved with her. I've trusted her with my hair ever since high school. With especially how thin my hair is and the difficult splits that I have, I was impressed with how my cuts turned out. From the first time, I only have to tell her three things: whether I want it short or long for the top and sides and which direction I am going to style. She will take care of the rest. When you come to Eunha Hair you don't just come to get pampered, you'll also be taught from any of the stylists about which cuts will best suit you and how to best care and style your hair. These people seriously know what they're doing. I know this because of all the salons that I've been to, only Eunha's was able to understand how hard it was for me to style my hair and I've never had a bad cut. I've recently moved and gotten busier with work but I still shlep out here from the city for my cuts. Most of the time I schedule with Eliza now due to my hectic work schedule and she's taken amazing care of me every single time. She's always introducing me to newer and better hair products and it's not a simple upsell because each time I've been introduced to a cleaner and/or better product i.e. waxes that wash off easily while holding better or hairsprays that are organic. I see a bunch of reviews complaining about the staff being impolite and I'm seriously surprised. Just because you're stubborn and can't accept that your hair doesn't work a certain way is absolutely no reason to bomb a 1-star review. They use all of their experience to give you genuine advice and recommendations. You can take your shit attitude elsewhere. Don't bully an honest business. So if you're looking for a new salon, definitely check out Eunha's as their prices are pretty hard to beat and if you're open to it, you can learn more about your hair too. My sister also had a haircut, which ended up being terrible. When we told them how we felt about it, and if anything could be done to fix it, the owner EUNHA literally rolled her eyes, scoffed at us, and was only concerned with the money. Great salon in the Queens area. There are a lot of salons around here but people who work here know what their doing. A lot of people in salons don't know how to use the clipper well but the clipper work was great. I'm getting married and I went to get a combover and a perm. Perm came out great and exactly how I wanted it. It was $80 for cut and perm which is a little expensive but definitely worth it. You don't want to go to other places and have them mess it up. The attention to detail in their work here is obvious. They layered the hair and curls perfectly! What was also great is how much they listen to the opinions of the customers and what they want. Came here for the first time to get the keratin treatment- my coworker recommended this place to me. She had also gotten the keratin treatment done a few months before & they did a nice job. I've been wanting to have a keratin treatment done since I've been having to iron my hair almost everyday & I don't want to damage my hair, as I had done in the past. The salon is so nice, clean & has a good amount of room/seats. Eunha, the salon owner, was there along with Jay & their assistant. All of them were so friendly and accommodating from the beginning. They offer you a locker with a key for your belongings/bag/coat. The keratin treatment process took about 2 hours. Jay applied the keratin treat solution onto my hair & Eunha flat ironed my hair nicely after my hair was blow dried. I was told to not shampoo or wet my hair until the next day. The result was around what I was looking for- my hair was straighter, shinier, & softer, with no frizziness. I've only gotten a keratin treatment done once before this one- Brazilian blowout (last year, January) & it lasted me probably about 4 or so months & I loved how healthy and restored my hair looked and felt afterwards. & Also how I did not have to iron my hair. I'm hoping for the same lasting results from today's keratin treatment! Price-wise, it is pretty expensive, but I would say they're fair & it's pretty much the same pricing compared to the salon where I had the Brazilian blowout & other salons I've been to. If you're looking for a good quality salon with good service, I'd recommend giving this place a try. read more

I've been coming here for the past 3 years. I've had Eunha unnie and this oppa help me out and they're both so great. I appreciate the hard work and the attention they both put into my hair. I went for a japanese hair straightening for my pretty long length of hair for a total of $200, NOT including tips. I'm Korean-American, so my Korean isn't up to par.. but I was still able to understand them. It helped when it came to communicating with them. They also allowed me to be on my computer as I worked on some stuff that I had to get done. I went to Eunha for a couple years. Their overall quality of cuts are pretty good. The place is small but clean and well kept. A few times I've been turned off by their customer service. More than once, I would set an appointment with Eliza, but when I arrive, they'd tell me she's not there. Why couldn't they have said that when I booked the appointment? I roll with it, since their other staff are pretty good too. A final time, however, when I was told Eliza was unavailable yet again, as I was leaving the salon, I see her through the window of the back lounge. Made a same day appointment here with no problems at all. I wanted a simple haircut to cut off some of the damage from bleaching my hair and was assigned to Eliza. I told her the length I wanted, and she asked me if I blow-dry my hair - which I told her I do not. She then told me that if I cut it that short the ends of my hair would curl and it would not look good. She was very knowledgeable and informative so I listened to her and cut it a bit longer. I'm so glad I did. She definitely knows what she is talking about. She was very nice and spent a lot of time on my hair even though it was a simple cut. She cut it to the length she promised (I have been to some Korean salons where they do not listen to you and cut it shorter than you like) and asked me questions along the way on how I would like my hair to be (i.e. if i want layers, etc.). As a mom with young kids taking time out for self care isn't an easy feat. When I scheduled an appointment for a hair cut at with a hair salon I expect that to be honored. I went to this salon at the scheduled time. They had the audacity to say that they can't honor my appointment. They offered for me to come back hours later which doesn't work for my schedule. The person that addressed me was cutting someone else's hair. From what I can tell there was a person in the back that didn't want to take the appointment. I made an appointment, on the phone the receptionist asked what I was planning to do? So I replied, coloring my whole hair. I came in on time for my appointment, showed them the color that I want. They were trying to change my mind and asked me to do a subtle color instead. If you're looking from Eunha from Club IB- she's the one!! My boyfriend and I (among MANY others, I'm sure) have followed Eunha from Club IB to her new salon Eunha Hair. We've been part of her loyal following for years. She's seen us through perms, colors, cuts, and fix-up jobs after botched hair cuts from other stylists. You name it- she's seen it. She has NEVER failed us and I feel that this is a true testament to her consistency and her commitment to perfection. There are very few stylists that take the time to learn about the clients' style preferences, but Eunha does. Aside from the awesome stylist and staff at her new establishment- parking is a breeze (street + parking space behind the salon), it's a short walk from the Bayside LIRR, they have free wifi, and a point system with a membership card (free). I wholeheartedly give a double thumbs up for both men and women's haircuts at Eunha Hair Salon. It's as good as it gets! read more

(Because I cut it too short) She is beautiful and talented and will be going back for my next haircut. Price was reasonable too. A hair wax thing was only $10. This is a review based on my fiancee's experience there. They took good care of her and I think they deserve some recognition for that. She had her hair done on a Wednesday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded then although she made an appointment. She got her hair dyed and treated it with chemicals to make it look great (caveat: I am a clueless male when it comes to hair things). Anyway she mentioned sunny the hair stylist is really funny and recommended a bunch of hair products. I came to Eunha Hair Salon for a drastic cut and Japanese hair straightening, knowing only its address and whatever was written about it on Yelp. It is highly unlike me to trust my hair to a stranger and the risk was heightened by the fact that I had my wedding in only a few days. I went on a Sunday morning and called ahead (just in case) to let them know I was on my way and a friendly receptionist assured me they'd have a chair waiting. I was paired with Sunny, who took her time looking at the pictures I'd brought, listened to my concerns, and dished out some sound advice (e.g. she advised me to cut less hair so that I could still do the hairstyle i wanted for my wedding). The haircut took a mere half hour while the hair straightening took about two and a half hours. It's common to be handed over to assistants during the long process while your main stylist quickly takes care of a few other customers, but I was glad to see that Sunny checked on me regularly, implicitly assuring me that I wasn't being forgotten. A few hours later, my hair was nicely cut and pin straight. In fact, Sunny pronounced that it was done so well that I wouldn't need to follow the golden rule and wait the usual two days before washing my hair (which is really the most grueling part of the whole ordeal). Somewhat trepidatiously, I washed my hair a mere 24 hours afterwards and was enormously relieved to find that it remained just as straight as she told me it would. For my cut and straightening (of shoulder-length hair), they charged $150, which I think is about average. At the end of my session, they also offered me a frequent customer card that allows you to accrue points with every visit and can be later redeemed for services. The space is new, so everything remains clean and tidy. Customers with parents will really appreciate the two computer stations they have available for tech babysitting. Street and meter parking is aplenty, but there is also a private lot for the hair salon behind the building. I have no complaints about my experience save one - the assistant who was helping Sunny with the actual hair straightening part of the process kept coming too close to my scalp with the iron. I asked her to please be careful, but it kept happening to my great annoyance. Sunny, of course, was completely expert and I never felt a thing when she took over. Also: non-Koreans, heads up: English is a second language for a lot of the artists here, so communication may be stilted. I saw a few other non-Koreans walking in for appointments and they'd usually fetch a younger and more fluent assistant to translate, but if you're going for a really particular style, you're probably going to want to make sure you bring clear photographs to relay what you want done with your tresses (or bring a Korean-speaking friend). read more

To me, I can't see whether the haircut is good or not until I shampoo it once. So my review is actually few days after the haircut. I have long, thick, and almost straight hair cutting to mid length and Perm. It was my first time to cut hair short and also my first time to perm. I did a walk-in, brought some pictures on my phone. I learned that it's best to bring the pictures in physical form. It would be best to speak Korean, but it's still alright with just English. I have Eliza to cut and perm my hair. She took her time carefully to get what I wish for and mentioned constantly to me how my hair would turned out after the Perm, having a back and forth discussion to get the best choice of the cut and Perm for me. She even taught me how I should blow-dry my hair, which I learned it is crucial after I blow-dry once. I will definitely go back next time!! read more
