I haven't been to recently but it still remains to be a ideal place for group gaming, trying out games you like to play, and when you have a sucky computer or internet connection. Right now, my computer is top line and so do my friends, so I don't have incentive to go right now, but on the few occasions I do go, we have do have great social experiences there which you can't get over voip. My friend and I formed a great Battlefield 2 team and I had fun with Left 4 Dead, especially. I mainly went because a better system truly made me better. Systems run fine but I do run into occasional annoyances; headset jack doesn't work, right click broken and (the worst) finding out games our missing (especially with Steam, with one of my favorite games Day of Defeat: Source). My main con is when people play lo-fi games like World of Warcraft or Counter-Strike. The front computers have the least problems with launching games and some of the back computers don't even have such games. I even remember some World of Warcraft players taking the fancy ones in the second room during the first months they had them (this is when it didn't cost extra). It's a common problem that happens even past peak hours and it's pretty rude when I want to sit next to my friend while 2 people are hogging the seats right next to him. I shouldn't have to use my voice chat to talk to my friend who's right there! You could say that I'm rude for judging them for playing lo-fi games and telling them to move, to the back of the room nevertheless but I'm just saying it's more efficient if they did something about it and set restrictions. However, to destroy this Con altogether is the fact that they totally listened to my request to bring back Steam Cyber Cafe Program. They originally had the program (back when Steam was only Valve games), but I assumed that they could save more money by just buying the games everyone plays (goodbye Day of Defeat) So I requested it on their forum and instantly it came back! I guess the main thing that got them was how it included 1/4 of their 3rd party catalog and Team Fortress 2 was on the rise. Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to play (obscure game on the service), because downloads apparently takes all the bandwidth and they won't download that shit during closing. Pricing is decent. It was 3 dollars and hour the time I started going and raised to 3.50 for management. They had an after-school program, not sure if that's still going on. Right now, it's 2.50 for the summer. Snacks are definitely not overpriced, though my favorite energy drinks, Bawls, *chuckle* is overpriced everywhere. The rules are loose and reasonable (you can eat anywhere!). I've been famous for eating totilla soup from El Polo Loco during my chopper gunner sprees with my friend. The vibe is ok at best. Nice touch with the posters but I do get sick of unsocial average joe (they don't make an effort to look approachable) World of Warcraft players, punk pot smoking teenagers (still a safe place for the youngins, nothing bad goes on in there), and loud men with too much gel in hair. I'm being a stereotyping bastard but it's a fact! Even though it's dark, it's best at night; it just has that vibe where you're out with friends, not getting laid, but having the time of your life together, eating, strategerizing, and dominating, having awestruck and hilarious moments, spending my allowance on 3, 5 dollar pizzas and not losing due of your damn system is unable keep any consistent frame rate. I remember a time there where me and my friend played Guitar Hero 2 (the last good Guitar Hero) co-op together when we were both still on easy and medium and enjoying kicking absolute ass (oh I forgot, consoles are good for same reasons, minus any difference in quality). I remember another time where I missed the chance at a hosted even to win the game Battle for Middle Earth 2 and a 80 dollar Razer mouse and actually winning them but failing to show up or to be able to find the ticket to claim my prize, and yet have a really good time with my best friends and trying out new games and drinking a really addicting sponsored energy drink, served to us by chicks. I remember when Rise of Legends (Rise of Nation's cousin) came out and playing at a free showcase and totally sucking with 3 other random but capable strangers and winning a Nvidia T-shirt which I added to my oversized Nvidia Tshirt collection I also won at random showcases (showcases are awesome btw, not sure about LAN parties but I was too tired to judge). I remember discovering Zombie mods for Counter Strike. I remember, most recently, playing an awesome LAN game of Team Fortress 2 with some of my current closes friends and surprisingly losing to some of my less skilled friends. So, this 5 min review turned into a hour reminiscing good times as I go away from SJ. Euphnet is about friends and games and bastard computers not having your game sometimes. I was expecting some run down, smelly, hot room with cramped playing areas like the ones I was used to back in the day. Boy was I wrong. This place is great. so me any my cousin looked support this place and saw that it got really good review so we decided to go and try it out for a couple hours. and right from the start there was already problems listed below #1- place was really dirty they did not clean up after players leave food was on keyboard #2 all the games we wanted to play wasn't even downloaded so we had to waste time to download it which is every minute counts. #3 we had to rent headphone wow, spend money for headphones #4 most of the computer doesn't even work #5 worst of all the computer would always log you off towards the last hour constantly so playing games such as league of legend, pubg or any games that requires you to play more than 30 minute. this was really srupid because my cousin would get logged off evrery 20 minute which forced us to play games that doesn't require a long duration of game play that we didn't even want to play. so we asked if we could get a refund and that's where this gothic guy saif sorry bro just get another computer which there want one that works to begin with so we had to stay or love our money. so to end please close this shithole down or fix your godamn computers.:) read more

Great place just to kick it with your buddies and play video games. They have snacks for sale, or you can go across the street and load up on goodies at Happy's. OR you can go to Dominos and order yourself a pizza; the possibilities are endless. just make sure you dont put the food on the computers. Great place to go if you want to play some computer games against friends or even Xbox 360 or Wii. The place is clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. They are always willing to help, and they have a nice projection screen so if you bring a movie or want to watch something while playing they can play it for you. Unique place. Lots of computers and other gaming platforms. Sound for movie playing is too loud. But they have several rooms that you can play in if you want a more quiet area. Never had a problem getting two machine together. Rates seem to be reasonable. Staff has been pretty friendly and reasonable if you want to upgrade and play longer. read more

I think this is the only surviving LAN cafe in the bay area thats been around for more than 5+ years. I've been going here on and off since middle school and they really kick ass. Euphnet has really nice computers, air conditioning, food and drinks like energy drinks and ramen if you're planning to spend an entire day there. What I really love about Euphnet is their hourly rates. They don't charge bullshit membership fees (Other than the Valve tax to have Valve games like Portal 1 and 2 on their PCs) and they have alot of specials and discount coupons from time to time. They charge $3 per hour regularly. I remember when other cybercafes back in the day (like Cyberhunt and Rivalution) would charge about $5 per hour and if you don't have an account with them, would charge you a yearly membership fee. This is a great cyber cafe. My favorite in Sunnyvale. The computers and screens are great, the connections are great. This is probably the only cyber cafe left in the Bay Area and it's no mystery because the service, computers, price, and atmosphere is just right. The location of the place is great because of the amount of places you can go to grab a bite when you need a break from gaming.
