I let a couple comments pass as we all have bad days but this last time was the last straw. We had let her know we would be away on vacation and our daughter would work on her packets upon her return. We flew in Monday and took her to her session on Tuesday. She was not caught up but we asked for her usual amount of packets because we had every intention to help her catch up. She kept saying she would not giver her any and that we did not know how Kumon works (she has been going for months at this point). We were explaining to her that we would catch up in the order received and to keep the packets coming. She was not listening to a word we said and was just so combative in her responses. Everytime we would speak it was an "mhmm" as in to hurry up or a teenager rolling eyes to parent but completely dismissing the information. She went back in and tossed the packet on the desk for our 7 year old and said "Here is your packet since your dad got so mad." Our child came out to the car asking what happened and why did her teacher say that and why she was saying other things about her dad to the other staff. My husband went back in to speak to her she came out and immediately walked away and would not speak to him. She should have NEVER discussed anything about a child's parent in front of the child. I asked her to cancel my daughter's membership immediately that same day. In all fairness, I was warned by other parents and Teachers that this specific location was not the best but it was close to home so I figured we would try. Also many times you see bad reviews and you think it would be a one off. This is my warning to you IT IS NOT A ONE OFF. I think it may just be her personality at this point. I am making sure I share my experience with fellow parents in La Mirada at the schools, sports fields, dance teams, and more.

This is an excellent environment of learning. We have been in the program for about 6 months now, my wife and I are happy with the progress. We plan to continue Kumon for a long time. However, my kid was harrased and bullied by not 1 but 2 business professors - Jake Aguas and Steve Tierney. To the Crowell School of Business. I understand that no professor is perfect, However, a business school that claims to give students a "premier education", should understand that bullying and discriminating business students is not okay. Also, your accounting professor Steve Tierney has no office hours! It's no wonder that students have done poorly in his accounting class! I recommend that if you are going to have business students pay an extreme amounts of money, make sure your professors are attentive to their students.

It was great to see the students having the opportunity to do that. It is a closed campus, which I like. Just another measure of protection. Checking in at the gate with the security guard could take a minute so be patient and get there a few minutes early. Students and staff go through the other side of the gate. Lots of good information was put out. We were able to ask questions if we wanted to. Very nice and relaxing tour. Very well explained. They were all very polite and respectful. The food at the cafeteria was actually really good lol. I really enjoyed it. Good pizza, delicious ice cream, and tasty cookies lol.

Classroom was clean, teacher was FANTASTIC and the class went by quickly (so it seamed). The teacher (never stated his name) was a professor in Santa Ana, Ca. too, so he said. Honestly, on of the best teachers I have ever had. He was funny, witty, personable and above all taught in a way it was easy to learn and pay attention. This guy ROCKED it, I go my scores 2 weeks later and passed with flying colors! Only drawback is waiting 2 + weeks, really? This day in age everything is quick, especially for a scantron. Anyhow, great company, awesome teacher and a very good process besides waiting, and waiting for the news on passing or not and getting the certificate. Cheers!

I think that the teachers also care about you as a person and not just you education, this lead me to have real bonds with my teachers. I would qualify the education I got here top class. I think that the people who go here are really nice kind people, at Westwood charter you can find your people, whether that is sportie kids or shy quiet kids they are there. In addition to having excellent teachers and students Westwood Charter is very involving, what I mean by this is that they have out of school fundraisers that are supper fun. I am in six grade and I am still going to the Westwood events. They also have the kindess librarian she encoraged us to read and held reading challenges with picture books and at the end we had a reading celebration were I bonded with my friends over reading!!
