I brought my car to this…read morePep Boys location for an A/C inspection and was initially told that nothing was wrong with the system and that it only needed a Freon recharge. This was surprising because the same location had inspected my car a year earlier and quoted me approximately $3,000 to replace the entire A/C system. I agreed to the recharge, but as expected, it did not solve the problem. I was told to return the following day if the A/C still was not working. When I returned, I was then informed that the entire system did, in fact, need to be replaced - the same diagnosis I had received a year earlier. I was assured that the work would be completed by the end of the day, which was important because I had already gone a full year without A/C in Miami. A few hours after leaving my vehicle, I received a call stating that the repair would require an additional day because a necessary part would not arrive until 10:00 a.m. This created a major inconvenience because I work far from home and depend on my vehicle. I was also sent the invoice, which I approved within minutes. Because of the delay, I had to take another day off from work. I was told that my car would be ready by 3:00 p.m. the following day. I arrived at approximately 3:30 p.m., only to be asked whether anyone had called me to confirm that it was ready. No one had, but I had been specifically told to return at 3:00 p.m. I then waited at the location until the repair was finally completed at 11:00 p.m. Although the A/C was finally blowing cold air, I immediately discovered that my windshield wipers were no longer working, making the drive home extremely dangerous. I also noticed that a black container holding my medical marijuana was missing from my vehicle. After spending more than $3,000 at this location, I experienced an incorrect initial diagnosis, multiple delays, lost wages, an eight-hour wait at the shop, nonworking windshield wipers, and missing personal property. I remained patient throughout the process and genuinely tried to focus on the positive, but the entire experience was unacceptable. I strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else , anywhere else.
