I usually take my car to a local shop but after getting a quote which I felt was a little high, I decided to look on Yelp for a mobile mechanic. Really glad I found Robert. Robert is a great mechanic. Friendly and highly knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose over the phone too. He won't mark up on parts and his labor costs a lot less than a shop. YAAAY!!!!! I found a VW mechanic that I can trust to work on my car. Basically got the annual oil change from an independent shop that I had a positive experience before. The tech there said I needed to replace the two front tires as well as a brake job for the rear wheels. Quoted $370 or so. Went to costco for the tires and he said that there was more tread life available. Not sure why they couldn't rotate the tires since it was on the rack Anyway I wanted to try Autohaus2u for a second opinion. Robert quoted me two prices for the brake job since rotors may not be needed. Bottom line brakes are still good and tires can wait until the rainy season Robert is honest and not out to do a job that is not needed! Robert was great! I can not thank him enough for saving me money. My VW Rabbit 2.5 check engine light was on and was idling really high for a few weeks . Then suddenly when I went to Santa Cruz my car suddenly just died on me. It was cranking but nothing else. After getting it towed (thanks for my friend's AAA membership) I just had my car towed at home. I took a chance and searched for mobile mechanics since I knew if I take it to the dealer, they would rip me off. Robert was the only one that was ASE certified out of many I searched in yelp. Like the previous reviews, Robert was definitely thorough and detailed. He will tell you exactly what is wrong with your car, what he is replacing, how much the part(s) cost, and how much is the labor. He will not do any work without you signing the written estimate first. I highly recommend him to anyone with VWs and European cars. I highly recommend and trust Robert with any maintenance or work with my car. I suggest that you give him a try. A year ago, I wanted to give this mobile mechanic service a try after seeing many good reviews and decided to give him a call. Called on Sat around 3 or 4pm, no one picked up the phone and so i left a message asking to call me back. A week and months went by, no one ever bother to give a call back to me. On a second thought later, i thought it was probably a bad idea to let someone mobile work on your car and it will hard to get a hold of him after he messed up your car or if the problem doesnt get fix. I have an older BMW that I want to hang on to, and Robert was able to diagnose everything that was needed for free. I was so impressed with his knowledge, but wanted to try him out first, so i did half of the work first. He was nothing short of exceptional. I cannot begin to say enough good things about Robert. Like other reviewers mentioned, he's punctual and professional and honest. I had a list of repairs given to me by the dealership. Robert told me that I definitely didn't need to do most of them for thousands of miles. To make his service even more appealing, he comes to your home (providing there is a garage in which to work). So, you don't have to be inconvenienced by getting a rental car, or being shuttled back and forth. And, the frosting on the cake was that his estimate was a good 60% less than the dealer's. Punctual, courteous, knows his stuff, and best of all a lot lot cheaper than any shop. I have an Audi S4, so I am particular about how it is kept and maintained, and am decently familiar with the workings of it. Robert did a great job and clearly was very familiar with these cars. I trust him more than taking it to a shop that "specializes" in Audis. I got to see him working on my car, so I know that he does indeed specialize in Audis and german cars. Rather than over charge me for parts, he told me what parts to get and I got them on line cheaper saving $$. I am sure there are other good shops/mechanics out there, but I don't think you'll find one cheaper and with more convenient service. read more

He did my timing belt on my 2002 GTI and I recently had him come help me diagnose an issue on my Volvo V70R, he did not try to sell me a bunch of un-needed repairs, he told me the potential issues, advised me of parts to purchase as well as instructed me what to do, knowing I have mechanical abilities. He also thoroughly checked over my car and discovered a major issue that was repaired previously by another shop. Had it not been for Robert checking, I could have potentially blown my engine in the Volvo. He saved me a ton of money. His pricing is very reasonable, he is extremely professional and tidy. Robert was an absolute Godsend! I don't really think his reviews do him justice until you actually see the guy in action. I've had a 2004 Volvo XC-90 that has been an absolute pain in my ass ever since I got it. I had an issue a few months back where my steering wheel decided to come loose while driving on the freeway home late one night. I was unable to drive the car anywhere. I was probably lucky I made it home safe. I knew I did not want to tow the vehicle to a shop where I would have no choice but to do whatever they recommend. I was also out of work at the time and trying to be practical. I initially contacted Robert about the issue and he quoted me a price and time to come out a few days later. I made the unfortunate mistake of going with someone else who absolutely SUCKED!!! I'll probably post that review after this. It actually took me some time to be able to get Robert to come back out again. Probably due to how popular and in demand he is. I told him the diagnosis the other tech had recommended and he instantly thought it was strange. He asked for more information and pictures to help illustrate. We went back and forth on email. He quoted me a very fair price to come out and check the vehicle out. When Robert came out he was very thorough in going through the car to ensure the diagnosis was correct. He made sure to be clean and treat the vehicle with respect, which is more than I can say for the prior tech. He said he needed to look at some diagrams to be sure on the part, but was pretty sure he could get the job done for less than half of what I was quoted previously. He told me he would get back to me later that day with what he finds out. A few hours later(he had arrived in the morning) he emailed with his diagnosis and a part needed for repair. He wanted me to order the part, so he could take it apart ahead of time and save time on the fix. I ordered the part that day and shipped it to him. The part arrived probably 5 days later. Robert had coordinated with me to come out and install two days later. I was at work at the time, but had him coordinate with my wife to give him access to the vehicle. He was able to get the part installed, test drive the vehicle, and also look over the rest of the vehicle in an hour. He finished at 1 and actually hung around for me as I just got off work at 1 to go over what he did and other fixes the car needed. My wife definitely appreciated this as it was all Greek to her. In his breakdown of what was done he basically told me to sell the car. He told me that these cars were known to have issues with the transmission and on the test drive he could already feel it slipping. There were also some other fixes that needed to be done that would be costly. He again just said I would just sell this car. That ladies and gentleman is an HONEST MECHANIC! This was probably the 5th different person I had look over this vehicle(2 different dealers and 2 aftermarket shops) yet not one of them would ever said anything about the stuff Robert mentioned. I had a cracked center pipe that was glaringly obvious to Robert yet no one else noticed causing significant power and mileage loss. This was also throwing up a intermittent check engine light that was a mystery. Robert actually found the part I needed online and sent it to me to order for the car an hour or so after finishing the repair. Again, no extra charge or ask needed :) Do yourself and your car a favor and call Robert for all your car needs. read more

I highly recommend Robert and his quality service. In fact, you will be a fool not to use him. My Volvo would not start and Robert immediately found the issue with the ignition coil and promptly obtained the replacement part and installed it. Now, my car starts great. His rates are very reasonable. But more importantly, he was able to pin point and fix a rattle coming from the door of my Mercedes. I have had this problem for several years since I bought the car new and the dealer was ineffective in fixing it even after 5 visits during the warranty period. I even considered selling the car because of this. Rattles are very annoying and particularly difficult to isolate and fix. I cannot believe Robert was able to locate the issue and fix it by merely jamming a piece of folded paper in between the edge of the door panel and the door.
