Located on a quiet street, very visible with plenty of parking. This one room barroom style diner has a gorgeous interior from wood paneling on the walls to tufted leather booths. The bar counter converted to a beautiful breakfast bar. The decor is very cute and welcoming. The food was amazing. The eggs were poached perfectly, the hash was crispy, and the bangers are fat. I live near Albany, my friend just moved out west & we picked this Cafe because it was the 1/2 way point. Very good find!!! Comfortable atmosphere, very nice staff. Excellent coffee and top offs were offered every 5 minutes. Omelets were very tasty. Mostly locals were there, but we were welcomed with genuine smiles. Not too far off the highway. They don't use cinnamon in their French toast! the toast is so bare and barely even toasted it's basically white bread and speaking of the toast itself is soggy wet butter bread untoasted!! read more

We stopped for breakfast and clearly they were understaffed or just having a bad day. A simple hello or acknowledgement when we entered and stood in line would have been greatly appreciated. After about ten minutes we decided that our patronage was not important and proceeded to the Amsterdam Diner. read more

Visited Cafe Europa as we were traveling to Amsterdam to attend a baseball game at a nearby stadium. So glad we stopped! The coffee was delicious, the staff amazingly attentive and the food was hot and delicious. The owner is genuinely kind, and took very good care of us. This place is welcoming and friendly. They always take care of their regulars and you can this place loves the local spirit. I came in with my 95-year-old grandma and she was treated like royalty, as she should as she has been coming here for a long time and she's a wise woman who deserves a great meal. For starters, CHECK THEIR HOURS! Tues-Sun from 6am-2pm (currently) and THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. Odd in this day and age, but whatever Came in on a Sat morning during what must've been a busy time, but we only had a 3min wait. The dining area is relatively small with 6-ish booths, 4 tables, and a long bar that holds 10-12 people. We ordered a little of everything. French toast, eggs, wheat toast, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, and hash browns. At first bite, the French toast melted on my tongue. A hint of vanilla and covered in sweet butter was just absolutely the best I've ever had. The bacon was nice and crispy, and not loaded with grease; perfectly cooked. The waitresses were super nice, checked on all the tables, and my coffee was never empty. Just the sweetest personalities from any restaurant I've been to in the area. They're enough to make me want to come back. The owners should certainly be proud of the quality employees they have. They certainly make the dining experience pleasurable. Everything was absolutely delicious and this will certainly be our new "go to" breakfast location. This puts The Amsterdam Diner to shame. I can't see why anyone would choose that location over this one! This place is great!!! read more

Not impressed at all... we were spending the weekend with some friends and one of their friends told us this place was "fancy." Upstate people obviously don't know what's fancy. This place was...tacky in my opinion. Okay, too much, it was very country home-like? That's the best way to describe it. Food...everybody knows I'm a french toast and bacon kind of girl. Bacon was deep fried or something, super crunchy, I HATE crunchy, crispy bacon. Well, there went half of my meal. French toast... eh, it was okay. Had a 1/2 lemonade, 1/2 iced tea and that was okay too. So not worth it. I'm a city girl, I know great food, this did not cut it for me at all. *sigh* Safe to say I was dying to come back to the city for food. Not the worst but certainly not meeting my standards. read more

Nice restaurant to grab breakfast. They are always packed on Sunday when we go and you have to wait which is what it is. Downside is it's not very roomy at all and you have to pay cash but the food is really good and generally pretty quick. Good choice for breakfast. Had lunch a few times and it was good as well. read more

I live right down the street and have heard nothing but good things about Europa for a long time so I decided to give it a try. Went with my girlfriend, I ordered the steak and eggs with hash which was only $9.95. She had pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, and toast for I believe $6.95. I'm pretty picky about my restaurants and having worked at some really amazing establishments, and let me just say this is one of the best, and best priced breakfasts I've ever eaten. Steak was amazing and so tender, hash was great, my girlfriend loved her food as well. The server was the perfect amount of attentive, and the food came out super fast even though the place was packed. My new favorite pleace in area to eat breakfast, and probably the only place around here I'll go for breakfast. 5 stars! Great job! read more

A cafe is a name for an old coffee shop-type restaurant, as that's what cafe means...coffee. however, this was more like a small restaurateur. We went in there looking for a coffee shop. We were disappointed the second we walked in. We realized this was not someplace you order a frappuccino with soy milk. The name is completely misleading. Then we felt like we had to order something because we were out of our element. We got the mozzarella sticks. and salad. the sauce was watered down spaghetti sauce. The mozzarella sticks themselves were pretty good. So now we go to pay, cash or check only. (what?) It was a good thing I happened to have my check book on me that day. I normally don't carry it. There were no signs when walking in that stated that. We will not be returning. We were looking for a cafe not a small restaurant. Our search continues. read more
