Frances is personable, asked detailed questions about preferences, etc. and helped me select the perfect bed. She patiently answered all of my questions, and it was wonderful learning the bed could be delivered the following week. I also spoke with Andrew by phone, and he was equally friendly and helpful. Absolutely disgusting experience from start to finish…read more My client is an 80+ year-old woman with advanced dementia who was sold a nearly $6,000 mattress. The second we tried to correct the situation and initiate a return, the games started. Endless runaround, nobody calls back, corporate customer service doesn't exist. Every single person points you somewhere else and suddenly nobody has the authority to help. What really crossed the line was the way the delivery team treated my client directly. She is visibly cognitively impaired and confused, and instead of showing patience or compassion, they were rude and dismissive to her face. Watching grown adults speak that way to a vulnerable elder was honestly appalling. I eventually had to go into the store in person because they refused to handle anything over the phone. The employee "helping" me told me his title was "manager" but refused to give an actual title, a business card, or provide supervisor information when asked. Then the entire interaction became bizarrely focused on another employee named Alvin, who sold the mattress in the first place. Instead of helping resolve the issue, this man became completely fixated on whether Alvin had told me he was a manager or not. He repeatedly implied I was lying, told me he "doesn't like when people tell different stories," and spent more time interrogating me about internal employee drama than helping an elderly woman with dementia who never should have been sold this mattress to begin with. I was also repeatedly told to "relax" and not to "rush him." The whole experience felt intentionally exhausting and obstructive, like the goal was simply to wear us down until we gave up. I work professionally with seniors and families navigating dementia. People are already overwhelmed enough dealing with medical issues, caregiving, finances, and decline. Watching a company happily take thousands of dollars from a cognitively impaired elder and then turn the return process into a hostile, chaotic mess is shameful. Take your money elsewhere. Monterey doesn't need businesses operating like this.

The Sleep Number company is a scam and their products and services are absolute garbage. I bought…read morea Sleep Number bed for my 85 mother who was moving into a senior living facility. When the technicians dropped of the bed, they noted that the pump wasn't working and an air bladder wasn't working. They didn't have any extra parts to fix the bed that day. I called the Sleep Number customer rep and said that my mother needed a bed to sleep that evening and asked him if the technicians could come back and fix the bed, and he said "that's not going to happen." It would be two weeks before they could come back. At that point I went down to Mancini Sleep world and bought a mattress and platform so my mother had a bed to sleep on. I took the Sleep Number bed to my garage and called Sleep Number to come and pick up the bed. They keep on saying that would deliver the new parts in a couple weeks despite the fact that I told them that I didn't want the bed and that it was in my garage. They finally agreed to pick up only the mattress, but that they had no obligation to pick up the platform. Apparently, under their terms and conditions, you can only return the mattress because in their opinion, you can use the platform on any other mattress. The platform cost $1,500. Plus, they charged me $250 to pick up the mattress. In essence, Sleep Number doesn't back up their products, they don't give you a full refund for your product and they charge you $250 to pick up their defective products. Basically, their beds are expensive air mattresses. I would advise all people who are considering buying a Sleep Number bed to avoid the company.

There is a good reason why this store is usually empty - now I know why…read more I am terribly disappointed with the bed and with the salesperson. The bed loses the number (as in THE sleep number setting) by morning. I had service technicians to the house more than once. They claimed nothing was wrong but one of them says that periodically, he needs to unplug and re-plug his own sleep number bed and set it to 100. He left me wondering if burning incense and rattling chicken bones would be the next "fix-it yourself" recommendation I'd get. Today, I wearily dropping into the Monterey store to be told that when I am in my bed watching tv or reading to adjust the settings to 'private' so the bed wouldn't give a false reading. Why do I have to service the bed instead of expecting the bed to give me good service?? Save your money. This lemon is too expensive at any cost. I could go on an on - but I didn't sleep well last night AGAIN.

We ordered a sectional power recliner from Macy's back in August of 2020. We understood this was during a pandemic, but Macy's did very little to stay on top of our order. Original estimate was for the sofa to arrive in October, that day passed with no notice from Macy's, we spent some time in phone jail to find the delivery was now November. In November again no word and it was moved to December. The systems did not seem to talk to each other and there was no good detail on where our order actually was, just lots of excuses by service. January saw two more delays, but there was finally a delivery day. The delivery was supposed to happen around 11 AM. It didn't, then at 4 PM, our delivery fell off the tracking system. We spent the day away from work for nothing we thought. We called around and finally the delivery guys showed up at 7 PM. The white glove service was anything but. They threw the thing together, did nothing to hide the wires and the seats were uneven and looked like crap. They then called for tech support to come visit us and supposed nobody could come out until April. I wound up having to route the wires to hide them so they would not be a trip hazard. Through lots of calles, we got the service appointment moved up mid-March, but the day before, they informed us they would not have anyone in our area for 2 more weeks. When the tech finally showed up, he was on time, but stated the gaps and uneveness were within spec even though they are literally inches in gaps. He said support would call us within 10-15 minutes after his visit, they didn't. We got an email a week later saying nothing else could be done and at this point, the furniture cannot be returned. So overall, just a miserable experience and not at all what we expected from a brand like Macy's. We will be needing to refurnish the rest of our house, but we will not consider Macy's for any additional furniture or much else after this experience.
