I don't think this location is open any longer. We tried to go here and it looks empty. I assume they have some furniture in the original Macy's next door but not the same selection as one would hope for in a furniture store. read more

Our salesman Mac was very good, but the overall experience with the product and service was highly frustrating and we will not be back. We ordered a sectional power recliner from Macy's back in August of 2020. We understood this was during a pandemic, but Macy's did very little to stay on top of our order. Original estimate was for the sofa to arrive in October, that day passed with no notice from Macy's, we spent some time in phone jail to find the delivery was now November. In November again no word and it was moved to December. The systems did not seem to talk to each other and there was no good detail on where our order actually was, just lots of excuses by service. January saw two more delays, but there was finally a delivery day. The delivery was supposed to happen around 11 AM. It didn't, then at 4 PM, our delivery fell off the tracking system. We spent the day away from work for nothing we thought. We called around and finally the delivery guys showed up at 7 PM. The white glove service was anything but. They threw the thing together, did nothing to hide the wires and the seats were uneven and looked like crap. They then called for tech support to come visit us and supposed nobody could come out until April. I wound up having to route the wires to hide them so they would not be a trip hazard. Through lots of calles, we got the service appointment moved up mid-March, but the day before, they informed us they would not have anyone in our area for 2 more weeks. When the tech finally showed up, he was on time, but stated the gaps and uneveness were within spec even though they are literally inches in gaps. He said support would call us within 10-15 minutes after his visit, they didn't. We got an email a week later saying nothing else could be done and at this point, the furniture cannot be returned. So overall, just a miserable experience and not at all what we expected from a brand like Macy's. We will be needing to refurnish the rest of our house, but we will not consider Macy's for any additional furniture or much else after this experience. read more

Yikes. I was hoping to buy local quality, high-end, handsome bedroom furniture in the Monterey area at a non-boutique/tourist ridiculous price. Weary of having to travel to the San Francisco Bay area to buy. Macys at the Del Monte Center used to have a separate building with a few name brands. Nope. Gone. ZIP. I called ahead. The salesgirl said, "Yes we still have furniture on the lower floor." I asked regarding a few name brands. Salesgirl responded, "Um, I'm new. Please come and look." We did. What is offered at Macys is stapled together stuff for 1st apartments one might find at Walmart, Target, up to IKEA which is fine for that market and first time buyers who expect to replace within a year, or so. I never saw a single sales associate to ask if this was all they carried... the inventory was enough to make me sad for the Macy's that once was. Another all day San Francisco Bay area day or two shopping for me...and I really do want to support my community. read more

They have closed the larger location and moved into the main Macy's building on the lowest level (near the "Backstage" area). It is considerably smaller and they have reduced inventory a great deal. It's disappointing to see how little they actually carry now. read more

Review is for Macy's furniture department and mostly for sales person 'sally tuttle', although all of the personnel encountered were pleasant and helpful. Sally was good with advice and her professional opinion and at making things happen. She was always pleasant and available, even when we felt we were pestering. She even got calls at home. We purchased a Ridley sectional and had a custom fabric (from another sofa) used. we made some changes after orderwas made. No problem. Everything went seamlessly and ordered arrived a little early. It was just what we wanted. We then returned to purchase an area rug. Sally helped us narrow down colors by having us consider focal point in room-the Monterey stone fireplace. Perfect choice. Macys rules were generous. We were allowed to ordered two to take home and decide on color. The one we decided on, had actually been damaged in shipping. There is a 7 day return period. Prior to the living room, we purchased a mattress set to be delivered near Lake Tahoe. This was from another salesperson. Once again, everything went seamlessly. read more

Don't buy furniture from here. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. There truck crashed with our order then got pushed back 2 weeks after waiting 6 months. Then they send the wrong pieces, and do little to make it better and there manager is useless. Bad service worst place ever read more

I just came back from our vacation in Monterey, California. We went into the Macy's there to check things out...WOW! Both my husband and I were blown away by the customer service they provided and the friendly employee's. Whoever is running that store sure knows how to do it!! I have written letters to Macy's complaining that I always feel attacked at my local store, it's either one of 2 things, employee's trying to get you to get a macys credit card or there's no one around to help you. This Macy's made my dreams come true...LOL. employees smiling, acknowledging us, there to help find what we are looking for....almost felt like the 70's when sales people actually helped the customer. Totally impressed!! Thank you! Now pass this onto all the other stores and see your sales sky rocket!! read more

Ordered a rug from this location. There was a little confusion on the delivery, but we called and one of the sales rep got back to us quickly. Gave us an update and even followed up after we received the rug. Good customer service from our experience. read more

On 10/10/17I ordered a sofa which was delivered and paid for on 10/18/17. Today, 10/29/17I get an e-mail asking me to schedule a delivery for the same item and charging my credit card for the 2nd time. When I tried to resolve this issue Macy's informed that that it will take 7-10days to credit my account because I did not use a Macy's card. It seems like MasterCard customers are treated like 2nd class citizens. I will NEVER shop there again. Be warned. read more

Terrible customer service. The employees are rude and not helpful. We purchased a couch from them told them how the couch would have to be delivered into the house and was promised it would be no problem. The couch arrived 2 months later and they refused to deliver the couch the way we had already agreed on. The manager was an asshole and completely useless. They suggested we now pick up the couch on our own and move it, and they would give us a gift certificate. Bullshit. My mom who recently had surgery, rearranged the entire house, and when she was done she was told they would not deliver the couch leaving us with a furniture-less house. The manager's solution did absolutely nothing, and he had no sympathy whatsoever. PLEASE GO THRU A DIFFERENT STORE, THEY SUCK! I wouldn't even give them one star. read more

My experience with this location was great. I recently purchased the Radley 5 piece sectional. And Jerrell was awesome. Provided great customer service. And let us know about a big furniture sale around the corner, this allowed us to do more research and get a better price on the sectional we were looking at. Overall I was really happy with my purchase. Sectional fit great and the delivery was great. My purchase was delivered within 2 weeks of ordering to ensure it qualified for the sale price. Shipping was great they called me the day before and the day of to verify my delivery. Jerrell also called the day to make sure I had received everything okay. They pushed the warranty a bit, which I'm kinda ashamed to say I was closed on but that's okay for the risk and reward I get comfortable about it. Anyways I had a great experience here would recommend them to anyone. read more

I was completely blown away recently by my experience at this Macy's, specifically in the luggage department. I had a gentleman named Lu helping me out, as I was trying to replace my samsonite luggage. After looking online, it seemed like it was going to be a huge pain to replace my luggage that had a busted wheel. I was not expecting Macy's to be able to do much to help me, especially because I bought the luggage over a year ago. However, Lu came to the rescue and went above and beyond to make sure I left happy. He looked to find the same piece of luggage to exchange with the broken one, and upon realizing they didn't have it in stock, he pulled some similar luggage that I may like, and ended up offering to order the luggage online and have it delivered to my house (free of cost!!). He said it would take about a week and a half for it to be delivered, but it was delivered to my door step within 72 hours. Lu, you are the man. Thanks so much for all of your help. read more

What a frustrating experience with this store! The salesperson was nice enough. Personable and helpful gentleman, however he had endless trouble working his company issued tablet. I visited the store twice and placed my order by phone. All three encounters took far longer than they should. Please go back to pencil and paper until you get the kinks worked out, rather than wasting customer time. Worse than this, the salesman quoted me a price on some pillows that were special order, and included a 10% discount as there is a sale going on. A few days later, after paying a deposit, I received word that the discount could not be applied to special orders. (How did he not know this at the time of sale?) Discussions with two different managers were positive, and both said they could fix the problem by issuing Macy's Money to make up the difference so that the price I was quoted would still be honored. However, an hour later I received a phone call from the store manager saying that they were not being allowed to use the Macy's Money for this, and that I would have to pay the full price. They would still give me Macy's Money but it could not be used on this order, and that I would have to buy something else (that I don't want or need) in order to use it. So the salesman didn't know what was covered by the sale, and two different managers didn't know corporate policy on correcting the mistake. I have lost all confidence in this store, and cancelled the entire order. All this over around $25 on overpriced pillows. Is it even legal to quote a price in writing and not honor that? Again, everyone I spoke with was courteous, but seemed to be inadequately trained in their job. I spent WAY too much time on what could have been a simple transaction (I had narrowed down my search online and knew exactly what I was looking for). read more

I purchased a couch at the end of July and was told it would be ready in 6-8 weeks. I then received an email saying that it wouldn't be to the warehouse until weeks after that. I sent them an email stating that according to the receipt I was eligible to return the product if not delivered by the quoted date and was thinking of doing so. Fifteen minutes later I received a phone call saying that the couch was in the warehouse ready to be delivered. I definitely became concerned about the product and wondered how it magically appeared weeks before it was scheduled to be made. From there I had difficulties with the original delivery date--I got a call saying they would be 30 minutes to an hour late so I called to cancel the delivery and was told that a manager called the driver to make that cancelation. About an hour later (which was now two hours past the original delivery time) I received a phone call from the driver telling me he was on his way! Unfortunately at that time I wasn't home. I then had to wait another week--lucky that I had a camping chair that I was using in the meantime because I sold my previous couch--and after receiving a phone call with one delivery time and an email stating a different delivery time, the couch was delivered. The delivery was fine and made it within the quoted time frame, however the middle cushion on the couch is messed up and the front nailhead decorations look like they were cheaply made and are sloppily affixed. I called my Macy's in store representative (who was helpful) and now have another couch on order. This has been quite an ordeal and I have spent a lot of time on the phone, writing emails, changing work days to be home for delivery, etc. and if I had to do it all over again I would NOT chose Macy's Furniture Gallery for this purchase. In fact I won't be shopping there again for furniture and encourage others to do the same. I am hoping the next couch that is delivered is in better condition and the delivery is less dramatic.
