Came here a few days ago for lunch - we ordered the Naples and Da Vinci and both were delicious. The homemade bread, freshly-sliced meats, fresh vegetables--all superb. I especially liked the Naples - I love pesto on a sandwich, but sometimes it can be overpowering, but the ratios were great here. We also got dessert--dobosh torte (which my partner hasn't had since he was 4) and a rigoletta amandina for me. I've never had either of these cakes elsewhere, but they were great! Not as sweet as your standard American cake, and with a slightly different texture, but everything was light as can be. Highly recommend. I understand what other reviews are saying in that the person at the counter wasn't exuberantly friendly and outgoing, but they answered our questions, got the order right, and when we forgot to get the water we purchased, they brought it to our table, so I would say the customer service we got was still 5 stars. read more

This place is our favorite for the taste of the cake. Have ordered customized cakes on various occasions here and have never regretted about it. Cake taste just amazing here that you won't get in any other place. Must try place for your party cakes. However there are couple of things that we don't like here. We have faced some weird staff here who felt to be rude as well occasionally. Not a very pleasant greetings you can expect every time. Secondly, we tried their over the counter bakery items and mostly satisfied with it except one incident when the pastries were frozen badly with ice crystals and it did not taste good at all. At least not when you pay hefty price for the pastries. Coming to price, this place is not cheap at all and don't go if you are looking for similarly priced cakes as in Walmart, fry's and other super market. With the great taste comes the high price. So excited to be back at this little bakery. Getting sandwiches and desserts to prepare for our day of fun and playing. They are a small shop and we ordered 7 sandwiches and quite a few pastries. We are patient and knew it would take time. They moved quickly and we had all the sandwiches 2 Black Forest, 1 all American, 2 venician, 1 Tuscan & 1 tuna salad and some cookies, macarons, eclair, blueberry crème & tiramisu. I dont feel welcome here. I thought I was imagining things. This time, it was crystal clear and I am not returning. We ordered a simple birthday cake(nothing fancy) and the next day we went to pick it up and we were made to wait for 15 mins. Only when we asked them for our order they confirmed what they need to write on the cake. I am positive this was intentional, as this is not the first time we get treated like this. No one apologized for the delay or had the courtesy to keep us informed why the order was getting delayed. Hell, they were not even looking at us when talking. They do talk nicely to a few people here and there if they want to. The sisters with dark hair have always been extremely, extremely rude.. no one deserves to be treated like this. UPDATED TO 1 STAR Gave it another chance and came in to buy some pastries for me and my husbands anniversary. ZERO options this was soo disappointing and it was all old left overs. I came in as soon as they opened and no one greeted me for the first 10 minutes I was just standing at the register as the two employees kept passing by and clearly could see me standing there. There was only one other customer in there that was already helped. I will NEVER be back. I don't know how your in business your service is awful and so are the options. Opening the box with care, there were so many to choose from. Out of all the slices I was bestowed, I chose the Day & Night Cake. The chocolate part of the cake was light, fluffy, and moist. The white cake on the other hand was dry. It also had a sprinkling of walnuts in between the layers of cake. Overall, I found the cake to be a tad too sweet for my liking. When asking my friend how the other slices fair, it seemed to be a pattern that the white cakes were dry while the chocolate ones fair better. He also said the hazelnut cake was the most impressive as it had actual hazelnut. At $2.99 a slice, you're getting a pretty good quality slice. While I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in for a sweet treat, I wouldn't decline a slice if it was presented to me either! ;) read more

This place has AMAZING treats and especially wonderful sandwiches! The sandwiches use freshly baked bread and stacked with a lot of meats ( or whatever you have)! I love this place. The only reason not 5 star is they are super slow. Saw a sign for authentic European bakery and decided to try them out for lunch. There was no one up front when we entered, which was fine so we could review the menu. We ordered and the woman working started making our sandwiches. Firstly, she was using a knife to cut plastic wrap off the turkey that was wrapped. She was sawing off the stickers on the meat, which isn't great. Not exactly hygienic as that's clearly going to cut everything else in the sandwich. Secondly, and even worse, she pulled out a block of cheese covered in mold to cut and put on our sandwiches. We asked her about it and she quickly took the cheese to the back and came back to tell us it was the packaging. It was clearly gray/green mold on the bright yellow cheese and we again expressed concern. She said she needed to get a manager and disappeared to the back. I'm not sure how many more people would have been served or told it was just packaging if we had not pointed it out. But she seemed perfectly comfortable with us walking out as we told her we would. read more

So, I had high hopes for this place. Upon entering, you will be met with confusion if you are not the only patron in line. The store is tiny and laid out horribly. The staff is kind of passively aggressively rude. We ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee was decent, the eclair was good, but the cake was not good. One would assume a bakery made cakes themselves, but one slice was partially frozen inside and the cake was dry. I can't imagine a bakery making a fresh cake and then freezing it, so I'm assuming the only thing they bake is the bread. Pretty disappointing to say the least. read more

Very sorry to bring bad news to this place. Cookies were great, cake was BAD, especially a 9" cake that cost $39.00. I called them in the morning and placed an order for pick up at 2PM - they agreed that was fine, for a fully chocolate cake. They made the inside cake chocolate but the icing was white :(. When we ate it [sisters birthday] the cake was stale! The filling was very thin, but the decoration was nice. Gravely disappointed. Not pursuing a refund, just letting you know. read more

I was excited to find what I thought was a true European bakery. I entered to find another customer ahead of me and no greeting from the staff member making a sandwich. After 5 minutes I sat down. Another customer entered the establishment and the staff member rang a bell 3 times. From the back appeared an irritated staff member for being taken away from whatever she was doing. There was an unpleasant exchange of words between them. The customer ahead of me asked if she could place her bakery order while her sandwich was being made. The 2nd staff member seemed put out. But filled the order. With some comment about "you don't take care of my customer." Are they on commission? My time to order. I ordered the rum balls and Italian bread. The rum balls are by no means worth buying. I tossed them into the trash. The Italian bread is like a piece of gum. No texture, no life whatsoever. My family immigrated from Scilly this bakery is not European by any means. read more

We just needed some sub rolls and they were good. The negatives: 1) Barely anything in the display cases. We wanted to get a dessert too but there was literally nothing to choose. 2) The place is uncomfortably warm 3) Service was slow 4) Sign says mask required so my wife didn't have one and we complied, and she waited in the car. Visited this business to try their poppy seed rolls. It was a forty mile round trip but had heard they were worth it! I gave the cashier a coupon I had recently purchased, she mumbled something and disappeared into the kitchen. The owner then emerged, yelling that he would not honor the coupon because he told the issuing company five years ago not to include his business and they continue to do so. This was a nice meet/greet for a new customer!! I explained that I had just purchased the coupon and that I had driven across town. He replied "get your money back". I left without purchasing anything from this character. If coupons are not honored then he should state that on his site or have a sign at the register. Interestingly, I contacted the issuing company and was told that this merchant has accepted coupons. Apparently, doing so when it suits him and when business is slow!!! read more

Got my sweet tooth going a found this hole in the wall bakery on the NW corner of Bell Road and 35th Avenue. Talk about a selection. All the breads, gelato flavors, pasties, sandwiches and more got my flavor alert going something fast. I got some vanilla cinnamon coffee which was outstanding. The samples of gelato were smooth and very fresh. I set my eyes on strawberry mouse to satisfy my sweet tooth. It was good except it tasted partially frozen. I think they need to raise the temperature just a bit in those display cases. Overall, these hidden gems really remind me of what made New York so special for me. It wasn't the big shiny restaurants but the family owned small shops that you had to seek out and had home cooking that made the trip worth it. European Bakery will make your trip worth it. What a waste of gas and money. I made the drive from Mesa and I was utterly disappointed. The shop is small, hot and not up to my standard of cleanliness. But I was there and I had to try them. We order the mango mousse and pistachio macaron. The mango mousse is layered between cake and has mango gelee on top. The cake was flavorless and dry, the mousse lacked flavor and could barely tell it was supposed to taste like mango and it was dry. How do you get dry mousse??? Ask Eorupean Bakery, they should be able to tell you. Mango mousse? Mango not. The macaron was a disaster. It was over baked and the shell was nothing but a giant air bubble, being hollow inside. The filling wasn't spread out and only had some in the middle. My biggest issue with the pistachio macaron was that it was not pistachio! It you're going to make a pistachio macaron, you are supposed to use pistachio meal, not almond meal like traditional macaron. You can't use 90% almond and 10% pistachio and tint it green and call is pistachio. No, just no. How do you sell macaron so sub par to your customers? While "enjoying" our sweets, we observed the staff with couple of other customers and their cake orders. The cake looked good on the outside but what is it with their packaging?? If someone orders a large sheet cake, can you provide a little more than just a flimy box bottom? Use a cardboard and a real box that's actually big enough for the cake please. The service was slow and their napkin holders were out of napkins and I brought it to their attention but they never refilled it. read more
