This place is our favorite for the taste of the cake. Have ordered customized cakes on various occasions here and have never regretted about it. Cake taste just amazing here that you won't get in any other place. Must try place for your party cakes. However there are couple of things that we don't like here. We have faced some weird staff here who felt to be rude as well occasionally. Not a very pleasant greetings you can expect every time. Secondly, we tried their over the counter bakery items and mostly satisfied with it except one incident when the pastries were frozen badly with ice crystals and it did not taste good at all. At least not when you pay hefty price for the pastries. Coming to price, this place is not cheap at all and don't go if you are looking for similarly priced cakes as in Walmart, fry's and other super market. With the great taste comes the high price. They charge for the quality but it is still worth it and I would recommend this place.

This place is great! We needed a cake for a birthday and wanted to make it special! They were very responsive via email and were able to make it happen! We went with a German Black Forest cake and it was DELICIOUS! The decorating turned out great and everyone was raving about how amazing the cake looked and how great it tasted! The customer service was also phenomenal! Highly recommend them!

So excited to be back at this little bakery. Getting sandwiches and desserts to prepare for our day of fun and playing. They are a small shop and we ordered 7 sandwiches and quite a few pastries. We are patient and knew it would take time. They moved quickly and we had all the sandwiches 2 Black Forest, 1 all American, 2 venician, 1 Tuscan & 1 tuna salad and some cookies, macarons, eclair, blueberry crème & tiramisu. Talk about good quality sandwich and some delicious desserts. I am so glad they made it through COVID. So worth it!!!!

I love their work. Ordered a cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and they were on point. My eyes were watered when i actually saw the cake.

All the cakes are sponge cake with different flavored cream, the cream are the same, just flavored differently. Poorly quality. Will not recommend!

Overpriced, ok taste, pretty from the outside but MUCH smaller then expected.

UPDATED TO 1 STAR Gave it another chance and came in to buy some pastries for me and my husbands anniversary. ZERO options this was soo disappointing and it was all old left overs. I came in as soon as they opened and no one greeted me for the first 10 minutes I was just standing at the register as the two employees kept passing by and clearly could see me standing there. There was only one other customer in there that was already helped. I will NEVER be back. I don't know how your in business your service is awful and so are the options. And the setting just feels depressing in there.

Best place to come and get desserts & bread from! They have Romanian Desserts! They have my favorite cake which is Dobos( it's layers of chocolate!) Also you can order birthday cakes from here. Also you can order other cakes and they will have it ready for you to pick it up. Also the bread tastes amazing. They can also slice the bread for you. They also make sandwiches. They are closed on Sunday & Monday

IwoildI would no reccomend...cake was like dust...the mousse was yuk had a weird alcohol smell...the non dairy frosting yuk...it was hard n dried out the next day...the top chocolate layer was good...I cost $40. and I was sad and embarrased...we ended up throwing it away...I thought about calling to complain but figured I'd never get a refund...albeit their sandwich was awsum...so go figure...I should have gone to Romanellis and got a canolli cake...Costco has the best mousse..fyi

Great music playing in the background set the mood, songs like Knock Three Times and Song Sung Blue by Neil Diamond. The lady who helped me place my order, possibly the owner, was so sweet. Patient too, as I made my selections. It was hard to choose what to get as the shop has so many appetizing sweet and savory options on the menu. I ended up getting a chocolate milkshake and a 6-pack of oatmeal cookies I was able to take home and share, including chocolate chip (no nuts), chocolate walnut, peanut butter dark chocolate cashew, dark chocolate pecan, dark chocolate cashew, and oatmeal raisin with pecans (they have a nut-free version too). The taste of everything was phenomenal. The shake had the perfect consistency and a strong chocolatey flavor, yet wasn't too sweet. And the cookies were nice and chewy and loaded with delicious chunks of nuts and chocolate. Honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference between the nut and chocolate combo flavors as the oatmeal was really the highlight. The peanut butter one and oatmeal raisin were more recognizable. ALL of them were amazing!

I recently had to be in the downtown Glendale area - the Yelp machine recommended I hit up Blue Corn Cafe. There's some development / construction in the downtown area so parking is a little limited. However - I was able to snag a spot right along 58th Ave and get a good view of all the cute shops to check out at a later date. Blue Corn was surprisingly busy that morning due to hosting a Coffee with Cops event. I got the low down from a few of the GPD staff that they are consistently rated as one of the best cafes in the city, maybe even the West Valley. They have recently-ish opened up a second location in DT Mesa, which definitely fits their vibe. I was told the owner gets up early every day to bake - I love the dedication to his craft. Like many mom and pops, there are times when quantities are limited. So ofc I had to buy some baked goods to go for my work team! Their muffins are HUGE - like 2 -3 servings per *singular* muffin. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought 6... hello carb heaven for us. I noticed a lot of sweet and savory options - croissant sandwiches, cookies, you name it. Definitely the muffins were well-enjoyed by all (PSL, lemon-blueberry, red velvet), and the general consensus was lemon blueberry as the winner. It's a small space with not a lot of seating options however there appears to be a back patio that might be shared with other restaurants. I couldn't get a view on my way out. Cannot wait for the next time that I'm in the area to grab more sweets!

I had about a two-hour break during a track…read moremeet and noticed a small line forming outside this bakery in downtown Glendale--so I decided to go on a little adventure. This was my first stop, and I'm so glad it was. The café itself is absolutely charming--spacious, clean, and with plenty of seating. But what stood out immediately was the customer service. From the moment I walked in, everyone was smiling. You can tell this is a team that genuinely enjoys what they do. Despite the line, they were patient, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their coffee selection is wide but not overwhelming. . I went with the matcha latte with pistachio, which was well-balanced. When it came to food, I couldn't decide between my usual go-to (broccoli and cheese quiche) or the bacon, spinach, and cheddar--or even the tomato basil, which sounded amazing. I asked the barista/ server to choose for me, and she recommended the bacon, spinach, and cheddar. It did not disappoint. The crust was thick and perfectly done, and the filling was layered and flavorful--just incredible. I also ordered an ube muffin and was given a complimentary lemon tart (no complaints here!). The ube muffin was exactly what you'd hope for--lightly sweet with a delicate blend of vanilla, nutty notes, and a hint of coconut. The lemon tart was perfectly balanced--bright, slightly tart, and complemented beautifully by the whipped topping. Before leaving, I grabbed a loaf of sourdough to go. They even offered to slice it for me--small detail, big win. And I have to say, coming from San Francisco, I do not say this lightly: this is hands-down some of the best sourdough I've had outside of San Francisco. Honestly worth the 45-minute drive just for that alone. I come from a background in the restaurant industry, and great service doesn't go unnoticed. Everyone here was attentive, kind, and truly invested in the experience they provide. The customer service alone is worth the visit. They so offer Panini's and daily soups.. Their menu changes daily. They also offer Louisiana hot sauce so someone knows what they're doing. I can't wait to bring my kids here next time. We will absolutely be back.

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!
