Fruit tart
Charles R.

Hands down one of the best fruit tarts I have had in ages! Affordable and amazing quality and selection a hidden gem in the west valley

Half sandwich.
Steve F.

Stopped in to check this place out after seeing is on one of the local morning shows. Was greeted as soon as we came in and, stopped in for lunch and the sandwiches did not disappoint! The bread was fresh and delicious and you get a huge sandwich for the $$. After packing the leftover half of a sandwich for later, we then picked out some treats for later, which was a difficult task since everything looked so good. Highly recommend the little hand pies, the blueberry was awesome. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying out their cakes next!

Interesting bakery with fresh breads and pastry, in addition to serving homemade sandwiches. They will take Special Orders just call and inquire for those special requests. Customer Service was very kind, courteous and somewhat helpful. I believe this person was relatively new and didn't have answers for all the questions being thrown at her by all the consumers but she did take the time to check with the bakery staff in the kitchen, so she did field all questions, etc. The establishment is very clean and well organized. Get there early to get the more popular fresh baked bread.

Pretty in Pink Tuna Club

This place keeps getting better and better since the new ownership. Their sandwiches are allllll of the bang for the buck. You can share one and be full, or room for their desserts. The pocket pies are my favorite. I take issue with their old pieces of cake slices at full price, but since I almost never get them. Still five stars. They now have an interesting breakfast menu and are constructing a patio eating area

Assorted goodies

Revisited this local institution to pick up a rye bread, ruglach, black and white cookie, and a chocolate devil dog. Fast, friendly folks in a welcoming atmosphere! Perhaps in the past there was a stumble but everything seems sorted as I visited a well stocked, well organized bakery ready to provide folks with delights (even a separate gluten free assortment).

Beef banh mi

Dayuuuumn Gina. We're not connoisseurs of banh mi, but we can sure as heck spot a counterfeit. This was, hands down, the worst banh mi of our collective lives. Just take a look at my pics, and then say to yourself, "Some guy on Yelp said the actual experience is worse than it looks". I'm going to have to buy 3 Lee's Sandwiches just to dull the memory of this monstrosity. Bonus: we also ordered a lemon bar, raspberry shortbread linzer and one of those elephant ear pastries. The raspberry one was great, the other two were picked up this morning by the sanitation department. New York??? Fughettibouit

Yummy yummy

If you're a fan of Bánh mì, this place is absolutely worth the drive -- and I mean that literally. I made the hour-long trip, and we'd do it again without hesitation. The Bánh mì was outstanding. For the uninitiated, it's a Vietnamese sandwich built on a crispy French baguette and loaded with savory fillings, pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs. Every bite hits a perfect balance of spicy, sour, sweet, and salty -- it's the kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate it. We also grabbed a few pastries on the way out, and they were just as impressive. But honestly, what made the experience special was the atmosphere and the people behind the counter. From the moment we walked in, we didn't feel like customers -- we felt like guests. There's a genuine warmth here that's hard to find, a real homey quality that puts you at ease right away. Great food, great people, great experience. Don't let the distance stop you -- it's 100% worth the trip!

Had a breakfast sandwich and pastries were good. Cases looked clean with a great selection. There are fridges with Gluten Free options too. I saw some Sugar Free items as well. Service was good and friendly.

Birthday cake

Order a birthday cake from here. Easy quick pick up and they had it done on time. Wait frosting and chocolate cake with pretty decorations. I am picky when it comes to cake and I was very impressed with how it tasted! Also very fair pricing. There is also so many fresh baked goods available to get such as cream puffs, cannolis, cookies, cupcakes and so much more! They looked so good I couldn't help but take a few treats with me to go.

Breakfast sandwich with cream cheese on a garlic bagel. 9/10
Janie G.

Location is just off the highway, great parking, spacious inside. So many options. We came for the breakfast but took cannolis to go, they were amazing. I had a plain toasted bagel with cream cheese. You can definitely taste that they are homemade and fresh...so good! They were made perfectly. BF had the breakfast sandwich on a garlic bagel with cream cheese instead of American. The ham was freshly sliced, sandwich made to order and flavors were so very good. We got our food to go but ended up eating them on the spot because they smelled so good and we had the whole place to ourselves. Both ladies at the front were friendly and helpful. They thanked us for coming in and welcomed us to sit and eat there. The place filled up quickly shortly after.

Ask the Community - New York West Bakery

Do they make fruit cakes?

Yes they do

Do they do any gluten free pastries? I have one person in my office who has Celiac disease and cannot have gluten. But hate to exclude her from the treats.

Although they do make gluten-free items, they use the same equipment for everything so they cannot guarantee absolutely gluten-free....

Do they sell croissants?

Yes

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!

We walked in to the bakery with the intention of ordering more treats, in addition to what was in the too good to go surprise. When we walked in, it was 10:05, and they closed at 10:30. They had already put away half of their gelato and baked goods in the cabinet. I understand closing time is at 10:30, but if you still have almost half an hour left, I'm sure there are customers that are gonna come in and buy things. There were three parties of people that walked in while we were in there and then sitting out on the really nice patio. There is a little bit of seating inside, but the patio was very nice and there was plenty of seating out there too. The vibe is super cute, and I love the decor. Hopefully next time we go back, we can actually try things because they won't be put away!
