Why oh why did I think a half pound of freshly made peirogis would be anywhere close to enough? Next time I'll be getting at least a pound, and maybe even more if she tells me they freeze well. After reading Karen V's great review of the day, I knew I had to venture to Brandon to check out this Polish market. It is tucked away off the main drag, so you'll need a mapping program to get there. Their adjustment to the pandemic was to only allow 2 customers in the store at a time. The woman running the place was friendly and helpful. They do not have a huge selection of products, but what they did have was very tempting and unique. From the market portion I ended up with a spicy horseradish, a spicy red pepper spread, and 2 bars of chocolate (European chocolate is way better than American!). From the deli/hot food section I bought fresh kolachki cookies, frozen stew, sliced cheese, a blueberry pastry (drozdzowki), stuffed cabbage (golabki), and the aforementioned amazing peirogis. I couldn't wait to get home and taste my treasures, and they did not disappoint, with the peirogis being the high point. I'm already planning another trip there this weekend.

I didn't know there was a Polish market in Brandon. I just happened to read the article about it in the Osprey Observer which prompted me to stop by. I've even been back a couple of times. I just can't stay away from it. I've tried a little of something each time. I started out with the homemade paczki (donuts) that have unique fillings such as pudding, plum butter (prune), strawberry, and rose jam. All were very good. The cookies were also a winner. Then I went back another day to get the Moscow style ham that I saw pictured on Yelp. What a great decision! This was seriously the best ham I've had in a very long time. It's cured with garlic cloves and you'll even get a few slivers of it here and there. It's a very flavorful ham, and definitely something you don't see everyday. I'm going back to get some more this week. I also purchased some Grillowa sausages that were absolutely delicious. My husband pan fried them for me in beer today along with the Alexandra's pierogi (potato & cheese) that I also bought at the market. What a wonderful meal for Super Bowl Sunday! They also have all different varieties of filled pierogi (sweet and savory ones). I bought the kraut filled one but haven't tried it yet. You probably think I have nothing more to say, but I do. I went back for a 3rd visit because I figured they would have some fresh baked bread and cheese to go with that ham I purchased earlier in the week. They most certainly do. I got the salami style cheese that is sliced round like salami. I think it's a Lubelski cheese but it's white (not yellow). It melts very good and it's mild enough that it doesn't take away from the flavor of the ham. I put it all together with the fresh Polish sourdough bread and it was the European deli sandwich I've been craving but couldn't find anywhere. A simple sandwich full of flavor. I'm totally sold! European Flavors is now my new deli. I'll also be going back for Polish pastries. I had this wonderful blueberry filled yeast bun that looked as beautiful as it tasted. I'm sure I'll discover more pastries in the future. There is a menu of various hot soups such as borscht, chicken noodle, tomato, and many others. They may not all be available that day so you may have to ask the owner. She makes them all. There's so much more (like cabbage rolls) but I can't list them all. It's located in the old strip mall on Oakfield and Kings near Bootleggers Brewing in Brandon. It's a small market, but full of all kinds of Polish & European specialty products. It's clean and tastefully decorated. It looks like a European deli. What more can I say? I'm loving that Oakfield Drive has basically gone International. There are so many great restaurants and markets on this road to Brandon Regional Hospital. They are all hidden gems.

Well, they've earned their rating with good reason!…read more A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

After returning from our honeymoon in Italy, my husband and I were on a mission to find pizza,…read moreItalian subs, and authentic Italian foods that reminded us of our trip. We stumbled upon Josephine's Italian Market, less than 15 minutes from our home, and it has become one of our favorite special-occasion spots. The market itself is such a fun experience. They have a thoughtfully curated selection of imported Italian products, a refrigerated and freezer section with prepared foods to take home, shelves of authentic pantry staples, a small espresso and Italian beverage bar, and a fantastic deli with fresh meats like prosciutto, capicola, and everything you'd hope to find in a true Italian market. One thing that really stood out was how welcoming everyone was. I brought my toddler with me, and instead of feeling like I was trying to juggle shopping while keeping him entertained, the staff genuinely embraced him. They were so kind and engaging that it made the entire visit relaxed and enjoyable. Now for the food... absolutely incredible. Their Hot Honey Pizza is easily one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy, and their authentic Italian sub is unquestionably in my top five ever. The chicken cutlets, salads, and other prepared foods have all been consistently outstanding. I also love browsing their selection of authentic Italian wines to take home. Is it more expensive than grabbing pizza or subs from a chain? Absolutely. But the quality, authenticity, and overall experience make it worth it. We don't think of Josephine's as an everyday stop--we think of it as our go-to place for special occasions, family gatherings, or anytime we want to treat ourselves to food that genuinely reminds us of Italy. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, exceptional sandwiches, outstanding pizza, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Josephine's Italian Market is absolutely worth the visit. We're so grateful to have a place like this so close to home!

Only place nearby to get lions maine. I be alot happier is more stores carried these. Best beef replacement out there. Not kidding, can pan roast it like a steak n it tastes the same. Also great to dehydrate n sprinkle over stuff. I love their monthly and seasonal produce. Tend to have exotic and new kinds of veggies n fruits. I pull the trigger and decided to try the sprouts brand vegan protein shake. Its yellow pea base. The one i had yesterday was the vanilla one but went with the big tub of non flavor. I cannot find whey in non flavored anywhere so this was a great find. I need the extra protein to boost my Keto snacks up. Like im loosing weight in a healthy window but i am feeling the missing addition of protein. This will make my keto pizza, almond cookies and breads get what they are lacking. Might even sprinkle over my kale chips or blend it into my peanut butter. Amp that bad boy up! Madam up front recommended i register into the member program. Saved me -$10 pn the protein powder. Im so happy! I also gound a massive salad for $13 bucks. Its like big enough for 2-3 people!

Good quality produce!…read more Have visited this location for years and can't express enough the importance of consistency. They have always delivered and makes me confident to recommend them to my family and friends. Whether you need some grocery items or a lunch/dinner plate, they have something for everyone. We recently had a housewarming party and used RFM for our food options. Our guests were thoroughly impressed by the food and the quality. Everyone HAD to know where we got the food from. One guest even said the pepper steak reminded her of her grandmothers when she was growing up. What a compliment! The service is good as well. It is definitely a predominantly Spanish speaking location but as a non-Spanish speaker, we've had no issues getting in our orders or interacting with the staff. Sundays are usually the most packed in my opinion, but it's mostly for those who are looking to grab a meal. They have multiple registers open at the same time to check out is usually pretty fast. Very well-lit inside, no crazy odors and lots to choose from.

On this day we ordered a Ropa Vieja Plate, Spaghetti and meatballs and Acapurria. Ropa Vieja- 4/5- The meat was tasty and tender, the yellow rice was a bit stale and the sweet plantains were perfectly fried. Tip: I was able to fix the rice by putting it in a bowl and adding a little water to it and then covering with a paper towel. This softened it up. Spaghetti and Meatballs- 4/5- The small size was perfect for my son but it contained peppers inside. He was not a fan. I thought it was good but if you don't like peppers in your food maybe stay clear of this one. Acapurria- 4/5- I received it cold as if it has been sitting out. The other items I ordered were hot upon arrival so this too should have been hot. It was tasty and greasy as you can tell from the bag in the picture.
