Had been going here for a few years and always had a wonderful experience. Since then I have switched over to laser hair removal, but still come here to get the ingrown hair serum and the body wash to prolong the lack of any hair growth. Came yesterday to do my routine pick up of these items and a gentleman there named Ryan was SO helpful! I had mentioned that the spray formulation of the ingrown hair serum didn't work as well as the pump formulation in conversation, and he went out of his way to give me 10% off. It was really nice of him to do that, as I wasn't expecting any discount (I had mentioned it in conversation as to why I was opting in getting the pump version). I'm sad to write this but the place has gone downhill in the recent months. All the good waxers have moved on and unfortunately the girls that are left are either inexperienced, in a hurry or just don't give a F. I told the girl tonight that the wax was too hot- and she said "awwww" but did nothing and now I have red patches where my skin was burned that will surely scab. Lovely... and ouch! I keep switching waxers hoping to find one I like but they can't seem to keep them employed long enough for that to happen. The parking is free, but that parking lot is a NIGHTMARE- enough to make me want to switch locations. But rather than switching locations, I'll be taking my business elsewhere after the front desk employee (Brianna?) told me I was on probation for 6 months because of no shows. I guess this means I can't make appointments any more. Well, gorgeous (that's how they address everyone), if I call a few days before my appointment and reschedule, that doesn't equal a no-show, or am I on glue? This has indeed happened a few times (over the past few years) for unforeseen circumstances, but I always apologize, reschedule, and never ONCE has anyone told me this could lead to being punished! There was one time I CALLED from outside as I couldn't find a parking spot (again, nightmare) and asked if it was ok if I was 10 min late and they said nope, but have a nice evening. Apparently that was a no show as well. I even double parked and ran in to tip the girl so she didn't miss out. I don't want to be unreasonable but between being burned in some sensitive areas and being put on probation (LOL!) I'm just over it. I end up sitting there for 40 minutes while the front desk woman scrolls on TikTok, assuring me someone will be with me shortly. Overall unprofessional, waste of time. First timer here went for the full brazilian. Yeah it hurt a lot but my awesome waxer Madison assured me that it would hurt next time. I went to this site for the first time and asked for Lanay after reading many great recommendations on yelp. They have great health precautions in place but I did have to wait twenty minutes for my appointment. The woman at the front desk (Brianna) was kind and apologetic about the wait but it was frustrating, as I was waiting outside in the heat and was late to my next appointment. I find this frustrating, but because Lanay and Brianna were so nice and they're short on staff due to COVID they get four stars. (Also lots of sanitation in between patients!) Its a 2-3 days nightmare and this is a public safety announcement, more than venting. I went to them because i've moved from Laurel where my previous awesome eyebrow waxing place was. I went there to get eyebrow cleanup after reading their generally good reviews. They were very nice and told me about their first free session, obviously i was pleasantly surprised. It was around 11 am, so it took only few mins and the lady was nice and did a ok job. I thanked and tipped generously. Then they told me about their packages and i went for 4 eyebrow sessions for $63. Now 2 days ago, I went again for my first session and the lady Aanchal butchered my ptosis (upper eyelid) & the outer edge of my eye. She was extremely chatty about me, my job, family, vacations etc but not too attentive to the job she was suppose to be doing. I tried to be polite and answered her many inquiries politely and as brief as possible. Meanwhile she would work on the wax some steps away on a table, but she kept making trips to it and leave me with wax, which seemed at times too hot or too hard, as she would rub it harshly into my skin around eyebrow. At one time it could be felt drizzling towards my outer left eye. Without me bringing her attention to it, she probably noticed it too, and casually said that not to worry as she will "wipe" that little wax dripping, which she had to do very harshly too as it was felt burning and there is no hair to pluck outside edge of my eye. I knew when i was jumping off the table as she was yanking the cloth off around my eyebrows, that it wasnt done right. Either the wax was old and not being heated evenly, as she kept making frequent stops to the table after leaving wax on under or over my eyebrows. She would remove hair after she applied all the wax around eyebrows, instead of removing it immediately as my past wonderful experiences with other places would do. I really wanted to get out of it as it was hurting too much but she assumed it was my first time. Though i corrected her that i have i get it done every few months. Anyway i couldn't wait to leave that room but tipped her 33% anyway as she chatted too hard for that. The burning sensation was constant but i had to run few errands to my mom's doctor, bank, pharmacy etc, so i rushed out. After 2 hours i went to la fitness and as i went in the locker room, met my friend who asked me what happened to me eye. Thats when i saw it in mirror and saw the eyelid drooping over my eye and the area seemed swelled up a bit, plus a bump over the other eyebrow. I went outside the locker room to call them and the receptionist first put me on long hold to get manager. Then she came back and told me that manager is busy. First upon my telling that i am in a gym and about to goto pilates class, she told me it could be because of sweating and i shouldn't work out after eye wax. I had to stop her to let her know that i just came to gym and have not seated as i was mostly at my mom doctor office, she didn't seem to believe me as she kept telling me not to workout and go home. I told her that i will be coming to show her the swelling and damage to my eyelids soon. I went there after two hours, with attendance printout from la fitness to prove that i went there after 2 hours of session. They asked me to wait and after 10 mins or so waiting, Sophia tells me to follow her and then she takes me at the end of hallway to whisper that the manager is gone, and for me to come the next day. The manager didn't seem to want to see me as it was only 4 pm and they close at 10pm. I made her take picture of my eye in the hallway to show her then i left. I was late for an appointment and dint get home till 8 pm. I had taken few pics of my eye in the la fitness locker room but they didnt seem to care to see them. Next day i tried to make doctor appointment but wasn't available for atleast a week, so i did televideo with doctor, who told me to give it few days of rest and apply fresh aloe vera gel and cucumber slices. They told me over the phone few times to apply neosprin on the the area, but the dr on phone said absolutely not. Anyway after talking to Trina the manager and telling her the botched or butchered eyebrow ordeal, she hesitantly offered to refund the money which i could care less, but i absolutely never want to use their "services". She claimed that all their technicians are licensed, but i find that shocking that a licensed person could do such a horrible job. Now my outer edge of eye is scarred, after the swelling went down a bit of applying cold packs, cucumber slices and now fresh aloe vera that i had to buy, cut, refrigerate overnight and apply to the eye to bring down the burning sensation , even after two whole days. I have gone to several EWC locations in the area and three times to the Silver Spring location. Each time I have been to the Silver Spring location, I have been less than impressed. I always have a wait for my technician with the first time was approximately 20 mins. The front desk was apologetic so I figured it was a fluke, and I'm aware things happen. At my latest appointment the technician's room was not clean with a filled trash bag in the corner that needed to taken out and the floor looked like it needed a good sweeping. Mind you, this appointment was midday so it's not like it was a full day accumulation of debris. I've gone to this location repeatedly because it's close to my home thinking I'd have a better experience than the last visit and continue to be disappointed. I will continue to make other locations like Dupont my location of choice where I have consistently more pleasant experiences from the front desk staff, and waxers. read more

Waste of time. I made an appointment about a week ago for a full leg and Brazilian with Meenu. This was going to be my first time here at this location but not anymore. They called yesterday to confirm my appointment for the next day. I told them I will be there. The next day comes and I receive a text saying my specialist is no longer available for the appointment I made a WEEK ago. What was the point of calling me up to confirm the day before??!! This was my 3rd time at EWC but my first time at the Silver Spring Location. I made an eyebrow and lip wax appointment with Doniece due to the reviews I saw on Google. I usually go to my nail salon to get this done, but EWC is within walking distance, so I decided to try. I arrived a little early and waited in the waiting area. Once I went back, there was very little to no conversation between us, and it seemed like she was in a huge rush. The wax was extremely hot, and she was already done before I could even say anything. Once I got into my car, I looked in the mirror and noticed that I had so much hair on my eyebrows. It looked untouched. I do not like to complain or start issues, but I was so disappointed that I went back to the front desk to ask if they could look at my brows and whether or not they agreed with what I was saying. The front desk people and another technician agreed and said, "I see what you're talking about." They said it was because I came in with too short hair, but I last got them done about a month ago. I told them I usually get them done at the nail salon every 2-3 weeks, and they have no problem getting all the hair. They said the nail salon probably uses stronger strip wax, while EWC uses soft wax, which may not pick up the hair. Why am I paying so much more for a service here when they admit their wax can't even get all the hair? All they said was "sorry" and showed me the door. read more

I got my eyebrows waxed and it all seemed to go pretty normal. I got home and my eyebrows were swollen/ in so much pain. That night I realized I was burned! The wax didn't feel too hot at the time but the lady left the wax on way too long. It's day 5 and my skin is still swollen and scarred. I will not be returning back to this location. read more

Booked an appointment at the last minute on a Saturday. There's free 2 hour parking available in the lot that they share with other businesses like Whole Foods. It was extremely busy and packed in the lot, but I went at a busy time. If you go on a Saturday be prepared to have enough time to find parking. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. The room that I had my wax done was clean and bright. My esthetician was great - quick, thorough and not overly chatty. Her name is something like Maholeney - I would highly recommend her. My overall experience was great. It's a really busy area, as it's downtown Silver Spring. Compared to the other place, this location is good. However, the location that I usually go to (in Los Angeles, in Studio City on Ventura), they offer you water or champagne. This location doesn't do that, but they're still professional and nice. While I was originally impressed with my wax specialist, as my hair grew back I realized it was *not* a good job. I had stubble within 2 days of going in (I'm consistent with waxing for a year now so this doesn't make sense bc all my hair was finally on the same growth phases BEFORE my visit here). My hair wasn't pulled from the root. Just broken off at the skin level. As an aesthetician myself I'm so over European Wax Centers. The inconsistency in skill/training drives me crazy, never mind to the damage done via Brazilian. There are so many small businesses in this same area, don't bother going here. read more

I'm actually surprise it has almost 4 starts. It has gone down hill since pre pandemic. The tech was pleasant. This is review is based not on her even though the wax was too hot. It caused a cut. I don't think this is on her but rather the quality of the wax. When the quality of the wax is poor, trying to over compensate with high temperatures is not the way to go. The room was filthy. Wax residues every where. The stepping stool was extremely dingy. The bed needs an upgrade. They use hard wax so no clothe is used to pull up the wax which is the original technique.. I actually think the original is better because the soft wax can still glide for a few seconds and takes a moment to dry. Euro Wax uses hard wax. They apply it, curl up one corner and use itself to rip it off .. It dries very quick even when it's applied right or wrong The place is very clean so that's why it isn't a one star and they have a membership if you regularly wax that makes the membership worth it .. but the techs don't seem experienced enough & they change around a lot so I hate having to show every new person my little baby lol Most Importantly: I never had an ingrown in all my waxing years until I came here back to back so I didn't return read more

I was running late for my appointment due to a the amount on construction on my route (should've checked Waze before leaving). Once I knew I was going to be late I started calling the location to find out if it was even worth it for me to continue my drive from DC. I called for 10 min. Never got anyone to pick up. So I continued on my way. I got there 10min late and they tell me they are booked but can get me in an hour later. Precisely the reason I tried calling!!!!!!! No I do not want to give you anymore of my business if you can't properly staff the front so phone calls can be answered. I've gotten a Brazilian wax here twice from Mohana. Both times were underwhelming. The waxing experience itself was fine--she was professional, friendly, and it wasn't painful. However, both times I've noticed a day or two later that there were significant spots that she missed. It's frustrating to pay $60+ for a wax that's not excellent. I'd say the wax itself was 3/5 stars. A-ok but not great. The worst thing about this location is the customer service. The girls at the receptionist desk are extremely rude, will ignore you, and each time I checked out they tried to up-charge me relentlessly. I had to turn down their wax package SIX times before I could finally just pay and leave. I was also given attitude when I declined to schedule my next wax on the spot. It's not a relaxing or peaceful experience. Another time, I needed to cancel an appointment because they somehow booked it for the wrong day. I was texting them (they text you to confirm and whatnot) and the person responding was not competent enough to reschedule me to the correct day or time. I asked her to just cancel the appointment. She became extremely aggressive and called me and yelled at me that she had "finally gotten the original time a lot I had asked for" and that I ought to be grateful. Not respectful of my time, nor my request. The Cleveland park location is much better in every regard. I'd suggest you check it out as opposed to this one. read more

I have such a love-hate-hate relationship with this location. Let me start with the reception area : when you come up to the door, one of the 1,000 signs on the door says to scan the code, check in then wait. But apparently you are allowed to wait inside, but there are literally no signs that state so. The young lady at the reception sees me through the window but doesn't gesture me in. No, I'm out there 3 mins until an employee walking in with food tells me I don't have to wait outside. I get inside and again the receptionist doesn't acknowledge me until after she's received her food and stored it. Like, I'm confused. Then I proceed to wait 25 mins before I'm seen, 25!!! That's my entire underarm and Brazilian appt right there... My appointment was at 3:30pm, it wasn't until 3:55pm that I was seen. After asking twice if there was anyone that'll see me, she tells me she wasn't aware that there was only one specialist working and that lady was with another client. I get it, but meanwhile, I made an appt. and so I asked her what their policy is when they make customers wait this long. They will literally cancel your appt if you're 9 mins late, but I ask her that and she doesn't look at me nor respond to my question. Like hello, PAYING customer here, ain't nothing you're doing to me here that'll be free! And this particular receptionist I've found has no bedside manner, doesn't even bother to schedule the next visit. I mean if it isn't the rudeness, you also have to deal with leftover wax all over your underarms and bikini area -- super fun to walk with your thighs sticking together due to the wax. I have been coming here for a few years. I have seen many employees come and go but I always go to the reviews to find a new wax person. Today I referred to the reviews as well, since Meenu who did my wax prior (and is very gentle as well as skilled), does not work on Wednesdays. I would have waited but I'm going out of the country and I needed to find a good individual today. I went with Donniece, who seemed very exhausted and I can truly understand why, since you are packing a lot of appointments in a day. However, she rushed through so quick it was the most painful wax I've had thus far and I have wax everywhere. This is not stating anything bad about her just a critique to take her time. Also the receptionist was a little rude and interrupted the other receptionist while we were speaking. She was trying to sell me on the wax pass which I was trying to explain to her I did it before and it was a waste. Especially because you think you found a good wax person and then they leave so you end up with all these unused passes. She made it a point to mention my card did not go through but only because it was automatically charged for something I did not sign up for so I blocked payments. Went for the first time for an eyebrow wax and was unimpressed. The wax wouldn't hold to my hair even though I had 6 weeks of growth. They only had one type of wax and I had to ask to have the hair that wouldn't come out to be tweezed. They also try and up-sell you into a package at checkout even though I said I wasn't a fan of the wax they used. I've had some good and not as good experiences (not bad, just not as good) and have also felt at times the front desk was a little pushy and rude. HOWEVER, I went right before the 4th of July holiday this year and WOW. The front desk was so kind, prompt in making sure I was taken care of when I arrived early, and not pushy about products or buying more package visits. And I had my first visit with Tanaya for a brazilian and she was so wonderful! As painless as possible and kept up such a nice conversation that kept me distracted through the whole appointment. I'm not sure what happened but it seems my number has been blocked from this location. I bought a year package through this location. Somehow, my calls stopped going through at this location, and when I actually reached someone, the person would hang up on me. You're better off paying more money elsewhere. Go to Sugar Baby Wax in Georgetown. You can get undressed and dressed privately. Something very cringey about someone waiting for you to get undressed and hoping up on the table all while they're standing across from you in the same room. I got my first professional wax here the week before my wedding and expected to feel like a hairless dolphin. In fact, that's what I specifically asked for. I paid $329.34 ($264 + 22% tip) for full arms, lower back, full butt, brazilian, full legs, nips, and underarms. First off, it's crazy that they don't offer a full body package and make you choose everything individually à la carte which feels like a complete money grab. At the end of my first service, I ended up finding a few spots my waxer missed on my elbows and asked her to redo them before I left. The moment I stepped outside into the sunlight, I saw what an awful job had been done. There was hair literally EVERYWHERE in awkward clumpy lines and patches. The more I inspected myself, the angrier I got thinking about how much I paid for this service. I called and asked for a touch up and went back in the very next evening. They told me that their policy is to have the same waxer do touchups...which is awkward and uncomfortable...only to show up and have a different waxer service me. She seemed a lot more thorough and went over my entire body with a close eye. I almost saw heaven getting 2 brazilian waxes back-to-back, but thought the job was finally done. I uncomfortably tipped the new waxer $50 after being asked by the receptionist and told her I was happy with the service when she asked, only to ONCE AGAIN, walk into the sunlight and see missed lines and patches of hair left on my arms, ankles, legs, thighs, butt, and underarms. This was such a disappointing experience overall. I ended up having to shave the next day because I couldn't stop running my fingers over the missed patches of hair, despite being told not to shave 24hrs before the spray tan I had lined up, which was supposed to be timed with the first waxing appointment. I spent a total of $379.34 for waxing that could not be done correctly after 2 tries. I admittedly knew nothing about waxing going into this since it was my first time, but have since spoken to many friends about this experience who regularly get waxes and they were flabbergasted. If you have light-colored hair, beware of this place and use your phone flashlight to inspect your entire body BEFORE you leave. I will never pay for this service again. read more

Keep in mind that they are usually running behind because if every person shows up nine minutes late and still gets to have their services done it's gonna cost for a little bit of back up. In the evenings it's super busy so if you can go during the day that's gonna be your best chance to ensure that you'll get seen at your appointment time. The staff works on commission so they're going to always ask you to purchase a package. I actually do you think the packages are a good deal if you get waxed regularly. read more
