Edward is very accommodating and very skilled at what he does. I recently purchased a Genesis GV60 and needed a Level 2 EVSE at home since the included 12A Level 1 EVSE was too slow for charging. I purchased a highly reviewed Emporia 48A EVSE ($399) and called Edward immediately after an appointment. I found Edward in my community's Facebook group after he was given multiple recommendations and references. Installation was very clean and only took an hour and a half. The majority of the time spent was finding a convenient spot to mount the EVSE, fishing the thick gauge wiring from the EVSE through a stud, and finagling the wiring into the sub panel. Being a handyman myself and fixing random things in the house, I was always curious about electrical work. Edward let me watch how he installed the EVSE and the ins and outs of the sub panel. I was a bit disappointed that my home couldn't accept the full 60A breaker needed for the 48A @11.5kW charging but 40A @ 9.5kW with the 50A breaker is already plenty fast especially if charging overnight. Edward is a very knowledgeable guy and definitely knows his stuff. Great person to talk to and is local to Chula Vista. I was so happy he was able to accommodate me on short notice. I recently had my existing EV charger removed and replaced with a newer machine. My previous installation which required a receptacle showed considerable wear and tear and needed an upgrade. Edward diagnose the issue as a loose connection but more importantly pointed out that through no fault of the previous installer, EV chargers are best with their hardwired due to the heavy usage with expansion from heat/cooling through the connection. Throughout the installation, Edward was very thorough, provided detail and walk me through the entire installation. I was in the middle of a move down here to PB, but he was so responsive and honest with what amp I should have based on the panel to not cause problems down the road. He was able to set up an appointment and install within a weeks time. He even followed up with me which I highly appreciate, but I had gone on vacation and had to wait for a 14-30 adapter since I didn't have one so wasn't actually able to use the charger port until 2 weeks after the install, so I let him know if I needed any assistance when I get back, I would contact him. EV installs was great. I was provided a rough estimate over the phone for the installation of a Tesla charger in my garage to replace a standard nema charger. When he arrived, he opened up everything in front of me (explained all he saw) and unfortunately found many shortcuts in the original install. He identified lack of ground, incorrect gauge being used etc which was the cause of over heating at the outlet. The price did increase for the change of original scope but I was very happy to have the job done correctly. I've had two EVs for almost 10 years and recently bought a third one. I was reading an article that many NEMA 14-50 plug installs are not adequate for the continuous nightly draw we EV owners place on them and called Edward. Edward knew exactly what I was talking about and my concerns since his primary Business is EV charging installation. He was very accommodating, making time in his schedule to come out and look at my previous installation. He was reasonable, noting that one of my plugs was installed well, and we just replaced the actual socket for a better one at a nominal fee. As for my second NEMA 14-50 socket, I was shocked to find that indeed it had started to melt and needed to be replaced. We decided to place a dedicated charger for my second vehicle, and I found his pricing very reasonable. I would highly recommend that everyone who has an electric vehicle, makes sure that their install was done properly and not with inexpensive parts meant to be used an hour or two a week. EVs put a huge work load on the wiring and sockets and a bad install is highly likely to fail from heat and arcing leading to a risk of fire.
