Old Chargepoint 30amp NEMA 6-50 charger
    Simon Y.

I recently had my existing EV charger removed and replaced with a newer machine. My previous installation which required a receptacle showed considerable wear and tear and needed an upgrade. Edward diagnose the issue as a loose connection but more importantly pointed out that through no fault of the previous installer, EV chargers are best with their hardwired due to the heavy usage with expansion from heat/cooling through the connection. Throughout the installation, Edward was very thorough, provided detail and walk me through the entire installation. The work was and results are super, check out my pictures of the existing receptacle in my newly installed EV charger; highly recommended!

Edward was fantastic and he was very responsive to all of our questions. Highly recommend his business for your EV install. Honest and affordable pricing in exchange for high quality work!

I've had two EVs for almost 10 years and recently bought a third one. I was reading an article that many NEMA 14-50 plug installs are not adequate for the continuous nightly draw we EV owners place on them and called Edward. Edward knew exactly what I was talking about and my concerns since his primary Business is EV charging installation. He was very accommodating, making time in his schedule to come out and look at my previous installation. He was reasonable, noting that one of my plugs was installed well, and we just replaced the actual socket for a better one at a nominal fee. As for my second NEMA 14-50 socket, I was shocked to find that indeed it had started to melt and needed to be replaced. We decided to place a dedicated charger for my second vehicle, and I found his pricing very reasonable. I would highly recommend that everyone who has an electric vehicle, makes sure that their install was done properly and not with inexpensive parts meant to be used an hour or two a week. EVs put a huge work load on the wiring and sockets and a bad install is highly likely to fail from heat and arcing leading to a risk of fire. If you think of all the money you pay for house insurance, calling Edward out is a small amount of money for peace of mind.

I was in need of an electrician to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in a new location in my garage after my dryer outlet melted while charging my Tesla. I requested quotes from about 5 companies. Edward from EV Installs SD was the most thorough and honest. He walked me through his past experiences with people in my situation, risks and recommendations. I was on the calendar for installation just two days later. He arrived on time, was extremely professional and courteous. We chatted during the installation which didn't take more than 30-40 minutes. He explained things along the way and didn't mind me watching. He didn't try to upsell me on anything. He uses industrial grade parts which was so refreshing to see. Thicker wiring gauge way above my charging current, a beefy industrial outlet and box as well. No shortcuts whatsoever. The icing on the cake was that his price was the best of all the quotes I got. Edward, if you're reading this, thank you! My Model Y Tesla is charging effortlessly using my mobile Level 2 EVSE at 25A-30A.

The Central Library has easily become one of my favorite libraries to visit. I don't get down here…read moreoften since I don't live nearby, but every time I do, I make a beeline for the ninth floor. It's an incredible space dedicated to genealogy and history, making it the perfect place to dive into family research. This visit was especially meaningful because I brought family members who were visiting from out of town. As we prepare for an upcoming family reunion while also grieving the recent loss of a loved one, we were able to uncover photographs of family members we had never seen before. It was an emotional and unforgettable experience that made our visit truly special. One of the best features is that the library offers free access to genealogy resources like Ancestry Library Edition and other historical databases that have helped me piece together my family's story. I also recently learned that every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., volunteer genealogy specialists are available to help the public--for free! I'll definitely be returning during those hours because researching family history often feels like peeling back the layers of an onion. Every discovery leads to another story waiting to be told. The only downside is the parking. The library offers two hours of free covered parking, which sounds generous until you get immersed in research. Time flies when you're digging through historical records, and two hours disappears quickly. If possible, I'd recommend taking the trolley to avoid having to move your car or pay expensive parking fees--especially considering the library is just a short walk from Petco Park. You can also opt to take your car out every 2 hours ans re-park in the garage.... Ijs One thing to keep in mind is that on Padres game days, the library parking garage may close early to accommodate game-day parking. While I understand why they do it, it can be frustrating if you're planning a long research session. Overall, I highly recommend this library. Whether you're researching your family tree, looking for a peaceful place to study, or simply wanting a quiet escape from the city, the ninth floor is an absolute treasure. It's one of San Diego's best-kept secrets, and if you haven't experienced it yet, you're missing out. As always... you can thank me later.

Absolutely Wonderful Anniversary Getaway at the Hotel del Coronado…read more My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a beautiful weekend stay at the iconic Hotel del Coronado in a King Room with an Oceanview Balcony. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. The two young ladies who checked us in were an absolute delight. They looked like sisters but are actually best friends, and their genuine warmth and kindness made the start of our stay so memorable. The concierge was equally fantastic, ensuring our bags were delivered quickly and that we were comfortably settled in our room. The property itself is breathtaking...! The meticulously maintained gardens and stunning California coastal location provided the perfect romantic setting. We enjoyed outstanding fine dining experiences at both Nobu del Coronado and Seréa. What truly touched us was returning to our room to find a thoughtful happy anniversary card and a small box of delicious chocolates from the front desk team. It was such a sweet and personal touch. We were genuinely sad to leave and will absolutely be returning. Thank you to the entire team at the Hotel del Coronado for making our anniversary weekend so special!

Don't plan on even touching the ocean here as the beach and both adjoining beaches are polluted by raw untreated sewage. Tens of thousands of gallons worth. It is brown from feces floating all the way to shore. This is happening far too many times per year. The entire point of staying at a beach resort is to enjoy the beach and all that goes with it. I was too grossed out to even touch the sand. They will not reimburse you a dime and will charge you a "resort fee" for a beach that is contaminated. The hotel is pretty with beautiful woodwork in the reception area, but the rooms are plain and basic. Do not even think about staying here unless you plan on avoiding the beach.
