This was a review I wrote and never posted from a "estimate" visit that happened in August of 2020. Sorry it's being posted now, but I feel like it needs to be shared, and I'm not the pushover that I was a couple years ago. Original post: Baffled that I had this experience when so many people had really great things to say about this company. I'm mostly writing this to remind myself not to hire them again. :( The tech that was sent was super nice, and very chatty...I know about his twin brother, that his parents passed away when he was young, and how he grew up without parents and having to take care of his siblings and all about his children...seriously, he just told me way more than I wanted to know and I really didn't want to know anything. I just wanted him to give me an estimate. He took his time trying to figure out where some wires came from and where they went to. At the end of puttering around trying to figure out where the wires all came and went from he insisted that he go outside to get samples of recessed lighting so that I could see what they install (because I mentioned other work I wanted to do eventually) I told him that I already knew what I wanted, but he insisted. After all this, I realized he was trying to pad his time there...he was there for a total of 1 hour 15 minutes. Mind you - the project was to move a light switch from one side of a sliding door to another - to which I had already said I don't mind having to fix walls - so they would be opening the walls when they actually came to DO the project. The level of sleuthing he did was just...weird. In the end - nothing was done, he tried to charge me for 1.5 hours just to look at everything. I called the boss and had to argue that I really shouldn't be charged for more than an hour - so I ended up paying $180 FOR AN ESTIMATE that should have taken the guy 15 minutes. I'm not usually this much of a pushover - but I'm pretty sure I got the "female" rate. read more

I never update a review but this is worth noting. Please read and see pictures We contacted Kevin hoping he would make it right as he promised. We wanted new electrical work done to fix a new issue we've been having and figured we would hit Kev up. He did not reply to my texts nor my yelp messages. I figure my last review turned him off or maybe he's just awful at customer service. Regardless I hired a NEW licensed electrician to do the new work for us. He took a look at our house and immediately noticed a problem. He told us whoever recently worked on our place broke a CODE VIOLATION by placing wires that were supposed to be on the ground, on the neutral. (For those who understand see the attached pictures). I'd be surprised if these guys are even licensed. We will be contacting the BBB on this one to hopefully save someone the dangerous and incompetent work. read more

I contacted the owner, Kevin, regarding a quote on some electrical work I needed done at my residence. I spoke to him on the phone and told him I was a new homeowner and that my residence contained several old Pacific Federal electrical panels as well as some other small electrical issues that needed to be addressed. He told me he didn't do quotes for people buying a house because they do not end up having the work done and just 'keep the money.' I reiterated to him that I WAS the homeowner and that this was not a home in escrow and that I would be getting the work done as soon as possible as it was a safety issue. After sending him the list of the items that needed to be addressed according to the home inspection I never heard from him again (despite reaching out multiple times). So, despite the fact that his website says they provide quotes for residential electrical services...they do NOT. Just an FYI. I'm not sure why Kevin doesn't simply remove the "request a quote" button from his website and be completely transparent with consumers. Needless to say, due to his lack of professional behavior, I will not be hiring KevCo to take care of the electrical deficiencies in my residence. read more

I have had two ceiling fans put in before by other electricians and each time I had holes to patch and other issues to deal with. THIS time, however I went through the bidding process and after getting quotes in the $400+ range, I decided to go with Kev Co due to the stellar reviews and the lower price (significantly lower) and while other companies were still trying to wrap their head around the project details, and scheduling, Kevin knew exactly what was needed to be done, was able to fit it in the next day and at a fraction of what the others wanted to charge. He gave me several windows for appointment times, all convenient for most people some early some late too. On the scheduled day, Jose, my licensed electrician, showed up at the appointed hour looking very professional. He was friendly and listened carefully while I explained my situation . Well, he knew exactly what the issue was ( note to all: if you're not sure which wires to cut, call Kevco!) yes it was my error. Jose didn't even give me a hard time about it, which was appreciated. I bought a 1935 Craftsman --- with all the problems of a 1935 Craftsman house. And the best thing, the decades of shoddy electrical 'fix-its' along the way - quite the maze. You have to love the feeling of a good electrical arc now & then. I took it as a sign that my house was 'tazing' me to fix it....it took about a month before I listened (stubborn). Kevin of Electric Electric Works will do your house right! And he did it fast - the whole house was wired within three days! And we are talking that old school, cloth covered, aluminum coated wire. Tons of it (picts). Kevin not only pulled out the old and in with the new, but also wired a few more receptacles in each of the rooms as well as some high tech LED canisters in the living room. We recently changed out some bulbs in our kitchen to recessed lighting LED's and a new LED lamp in our closet. What we had in our kitchen was more of an old school, florescent bulb.
