Absolutely amazing experience! I brought my Audi Q8 to this shop after it sustained damage on the side. Not only did they take care of the bodywork, but they also resolved some underlying mechanical issues--all in one place. It gave me real peace of mind knowing the car didn't have to be moved from shop to shop. What really stood out was their communication. They kept me updated throughout the entire process, walking me through each step and explaining where things stood at every stage. This is a true 10/10 shop. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The work was completed quickly, professionally, and at a very fair price. Thank you, team--you're the best!

I had my transmission replaced at EV Repair in Los Angeles. They diagnosed my original transmission as faulty and sold me a replacement with a 1-year warranty. Right after the repair, I noticed the same noise, but they insisted it was caused by the engine camshaft gear. Later, in Chicago, another certified shop opened the transmission and found metal debris in the oil, confirming internal damage. I had to pay again to repair the faulty transmission they sold me. The noise disappeared after the proper repair. Despite the warranty and clear evidence, EV Repair refused to take responsibility. I've already filed complaints with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, BBB and another departments. Avoid this shop if you want honest diagnostics and service.

Many auto shops refused to help me at all. Thank you so much, EV Repair, for taking the job and getting it done! Thank you for your service and help with my car!

Sure enough, my truck ran like junk with the new IDM and the crappy Dorman harnesses. I had it towed to them where they said it wouldn't be a problem to put the Ford ones on. After a few days there, they said that one of my brand new injectors was bad and needed a new solenoid, so I paid for them to fix that as well, since I wanted the truck back in 100% working order. After a few more days, I was told it was ready, so I went to pick it up. It was smoking like a chimney and stumbling, so I told them that I was not comfortable taking it back without it running properly. The guy agreed to keep it and get it running. A few days later, they said it was ready again. I went down there to get it. It was running better, but still not normal. I was told that it was smoking because the injector was pulled and it takes awhile for the fuel to burn off, which is a legit excuse, but it was still hesitating. They said it would work itself out once it got about 100 miles or so on it. Well, I drove it to Fontana and back and it had way low power, it was sucking fuel down at an enormous rate, and it was blowing out white smoke all the time. I popped the hood to inspect things when I got home and it was still using Dorman harnesses, plus 3 valve cover bolts were missing and it was leaking oil because of it, and one of the clamps from my air intake was missing. I took it back and they now said there was a short in my wiring harness, that the mechanic must have forgot to put the bolts back in, and they admitted to breaking the intake clamp. They said they would order me another harness, but they are hard to find for a 2000 7.3, but they said they found a good one. A little over a month after initial drop off, I finally got it back. It ran good up until about 65 mph, when it started down shifting like crazy and redlining until it got back below 60. I figured that maybe something went wrong with the refurbished computer that I had just installed prior to dropping my truck off there. When I went to pull the computer and put back my original PCM, i noticed that they had taken my brand new one and replaced it with a used computer from an 03 Econoline van, according to the PCM code and markings written on it. Once I installed my old computer, it could finally go freeway speed, but the overdrive light would flash during city driving. I eventually retrieved my stolen PCM from them and put it back in, but still had the overdrive light problem. I did also realize that they had, for whatever reason, also removed the rubber gasket that holds the PCM and the connector to the firewall, which explained the wind that I felt on my leg while driving. After some lengthy diagnosis, I found the problem was that the "good" harness they installed has a short somewhere in the alternator power wire. I bypassed the wire and that solved the overdrive light issue. While diagnosing that, I began inspecting all the connectors in that "good" harness and it's a joke. Valve cover connectors have insulation missing and he tabs that lock them in place are broken. The ICP connector is frayed (i had put a new one on my old harness, same with the fuel bowl heater connector). The EBP sensor harness is frayed. And the engine oil temperature sensor harness is frayed. I would highly advise going to another location for repairs. What should have been a day repair turned into month long nightmare that just keeps giving me more headaches.

This truck is a workhorse and I use it to haul loads of gravel and soil for construction. Last month, I had an attempted break in that immobilized the truck. I had it sent on a flatbed to my local Ford dealer. They took 2 weeks to tell me that it needed a full fuel system replacement for $19k. They did a recall and charged me $500 for a diagnostic.I absolutely could not believe the truck needed this much work, so I took it to Diesel Tune for a second opinion. George and his guys looked over the truck and plugged in the OBD2 reader. They couldn't find anything wrong with the truck and they even check over all the fluids for contamination. We ended up doing a full 50,000 mile service with filters and fluids replaced along with some additional consumables. The total was $2600 and all the work was done diligently on time. I gave the dealer an earful and they refunded the money they charged me for a diagnostic. Diesel Tune has my business for life. I would give George and his team more stars if I could.

They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

Shortly after, Allen called me and said he could only provide an estimate after inspecting the vehicle. While I understood his approach, I simply asked if he could provide a general pricing structure for those specific replacements. His response? "Are you stupid?!" I was shocked by the unprofessionalism. I calmly replied, "Excuse me, sir, please show some respect. I haven't disrespected you; I am just asking for your standard pricing for this service."
