I dropped my truck off with Bill. I asked him to check my transmission. He said sure I just needed to drop it off in the morning. He called later that afternoon. He mentioned she (my truck) was ok. I then mentioned my problem was I had to warm up my truck for 15 minutes and then she would be good to drive. Having to do this every time I had to go to work or after work I'd sit there for a while was becoming annoying. Bill kept the truck for over night to see how she would run in morning. . Bill drove her and he expierenced the same thing I did. Sure enough it was the transmission. I took her home and drove it about a week so I could notify work. It was going to cost me 4,800.00 for a rebuilt 3 year warranty. Bill called and said there was another piece that needed repairing so I paid a little over $5.000. All in all I liked the fact Bill had my truck ready in 4 days was fantastic he originally quoted me 5 days. I had the best quality care for my vehicle. Bill was very professional.

I have to say, Bill is a great guy, even though the shop is closed, Bill has been helping me via text and helping me understand how to approach fixing my car. He was upfront and shared he couldn't repair my transmission, but did recommend how to go about finding someone to do it. Would highly recommend Bill and Cres-O-matic for his honesty more than anything.

I found Francis through an online search because of the many positive reviews, and during our first interaction he was friendly, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He ordered the part directly from Acura and quoted me a fair price. My car was ready the following day, but when I arrived to pick it up, Francis informed me that my vehicle had been involved in an accident while in his care. He explained that another driver had been speeding through the parking lot and crashed into him. He gave me the other driver's information, and I contacted him immediately. The other driver gave a very different version of events. He stated that he was backing out of a parking space and did not see Francis. He also told me that Francis provided his driver's license information but refused to share insurance information. Now, more than a month later, I still have a damaged vehicle and have not received insurance information from Francis despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and outreach from Mercury Insurance. I trusted this shop to take care of my car, not return it to me in worse condition and leave me responsible for a $500 deductible. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability and urgency. Francis acted as though this situation was not a major concern and repeatedly assured me that the other driver would "take care of it," which has not happened. According to the other driver, Francis even asked him to change the story about what happened. I chose this business because of its strong reviews and the image Francis presents, but my experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I believe customers deserve honesty, transparency, and responsibility when their vehicle is in someone else's care.

On November 5, 2025, my car suddenly displayed a P1009 engine code, so I took it to a different shop for diagnosis. The technician there was immediately surprised when he checked my oil. He told me the oil was extremely black, dirty, and low, and said it did not look like it had been changed recently, if at all. The dirty oil caused damage to my VVT solenoid, which now had to be replaced. I was charged $525 to correct the issue that occurred as a result of what appears to be a lack of proper oil service at Lakewood 76. I have photos of my oil dipstick showing how dark the oil was, as well as the invoice from the repair shop documenting the condition of my oil and the damage it caused. There were no oil leaks, and I drive my car regularly with proper maintenance intervals, so there is no reason my oil should have been that dirty after less than 3 months with normal driving use. I trusted this shop to do a basic oil change, and that trust was broken. Because of this experience and the unnecessary expense it caused me, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this shop to others.

They responded quickly, were courteous, and didn't try to tack on a diagnostic fee just to take a look. When I dropped off the car, the technician walked me through their process, starting with the bulbs before moving into any potential electrical issues (which I really appreciated.) It ended up being the simplest fix: both bulbs were burned out. They had everything replaced within a few hours. Fair pricing, clear communication, and no upselling. I'll definitely be back for future repairs. Side note- they have the cutest shop kitten. ‍

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

They tore the engine down on my 2015 s3 for half of the price, checked everything with a bore scope, verified timing, checked compression, found the stretched chain, and actually showed me proof of everything. Then when more issues came up, they kept going they found the fuel pump leaking into the oil, replaced it, fixed the fouled plugs, changed the oil, road‑tested it, and even diagnosed a bad cam adjuster solenoid by swapping sensors and confirming the code moved. Meanwhile, Signal Hill Foreign Auto Service charged me $2,160 just to take the top off and gave me a vague summary with zero photos, zero proof, and tried to upsell me into a full rebuild. Instead of doing a professional deep dive inspection like how these guys did! I was given the price of 170 for a basic service but they eventually charged me 190 something. In addition to that they did a diagnostic which cost about another $200 and they took a few days to do the diagnostics. Jason was very nice but when I picked up the car after deciding not to go through with the $6000 price tag for all the priority items, my car was in disarray. Items that were in a container next to my seat was lifted up and everything inside was scattered on top of the seat as well as the bottom of the passenger area. Maybe because I am a woman dealing with this issue primarily by myself, my husband was only available via telephone. But I did not feel like my car was respected while it was there. There are other places such as Matt's imports in Cypress. Their prices are a bit more reasonable but the service I would say is better. https://yelp.to/dXwcV_Tf3D
