My car had an 'All-stop' clutch failure in S Daytona, last Tuesday afternoon. I called up Honest 1 Auto Care and spoke to Brad Dobbins, their Service Manager. He immediately dispatched a wrecker-truck to retrieve the car. The wrecker driver from Buddy's Towing, was very careful getting my car up onto the wrecker truck bed, and took it to Honest 1. Brad's people evaluated the damage, told me what parts were needed, and what the total estimated repair cost would be. Repairs completed by Wednesday afternoon, they sent a courtesy car to bring me up to get the car. Brad made this whole ordeal totally painless. Needed our Transmission Fluid & Filter changed on our 2002 Ford F150 Lariat 4X4, and the Air Conditioner recharged. We dropped off the truck in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. They did a full inspection on the truck, and sent us the results and before starting the work, we knew how much the approximate total bill would be, before they started the work. With having a truck with over 200,000+ miles on it, the truck passed with only a few minor explainable reasons all in all the truck was in very good condition. We paid around $1120, and well worth it, just to know that the truck is in very good condition, was a relief. I wish we would have done this before our 4000+ mile trip up to Wisconsin, Sturgis and back home, when traveling it's always in the back of your mind, if something will go wrong. I feel like I should start with the staff. Michelle and Liz were both totally awesome. Their customer service was the stars and above. I literally couldn't have been happier and they were so kind in helping me figure everything out. The evaluation was done quickly and service also was completed very quickly, faster than I thought it would be. I really just couldn't be happier with this shop. Now my car is in very good working order and I know what needs to be taken care of in the future. I will absolutely return here every time. We just arrived in Port Orange, Florida, and started having trouble with our Jeep grand Cherokee that day. I Was given the name of honest one Garage and decided to call them. It was a couple minutes before closing time, but I did call and leave a message. They did not get back to me before the end of the day, but I was pleasantly surprised when Brad reached out about 830 that evening to see if anybody had contacted us and to see if there's something he could help us with. We made arrangements to take our vehicle in at 7:30 the next morning. They ran a diagnostic study and found multiple problems with the vehicle. They were able to fix our vehicle and have it back to us the following day. The things that impressed me the most about Honest one Is their wonderful communication. When we took our vehicle there that morning they gave us a ride back to the campsite and proceeded to keep in touch with us throughout the day with what was going on with our car. They did this through the entire time our vehicle was there. We were sent the diagnostic report via email which we were able to look over. Everyone we encountered was absolutely amazing. I felt like they understood us, and I felt that they were very trustworthy. When we talked to Brad, after our car was fixed, we thanked him and he told us that His father told him to always treat people the way you would want your mother or sister treated. Even though they came highly rated, their quote to me was extremely high. Charging an estimated $280/hr labor charge, for parts totaling $200.00 and 10 hrs. labor. Secondly and most IMPORTANT, even though it was a very detailed total car quote which I appreciated; there was NO REASON to put my financial situation on the quote. That is NO BODY"S BUSINESS. Very POOR. My previous NJ mechanic said 4 hrs. $600 job, and another local site is doing it for 4 hrs. $800 total. Honest 1 said $3200.00 total. WTH. read more

Left feeling ripped off and having the same problems Brought my vehicle in suspecting that I needed a starter replaced. They confirmed I was correct. was quoted $1700 to replace my starter but they thought it could've been a bad battery that was my issue. They said they could replace the battery for $330. This is a $200 battery so time labor and shop materials somehow came to $130 but when I came into the store. They gave me a $400 pricing which was not the price told over the phone. just for a battery change mind you I came in to get a starter replaced. At the end of all of it, I still have the same problem And a new battery that I was overcharged for. Quoted from a few other shops that the job would be $160 in labor and the price of the most premium starter for my vehicle is $500 for an OEM part. even with that math it would never add up to $1700 with a brand new battery. these people are off of their rockers. Let me tell you if they have a massage chair in their waiting room. There is a reason. They are way over charging people. I Will never come back. The car is sputtering...answer: we will replace all of the coil wires, but don't know if that will fix it ($500)....why not just try one coil on the six spark plugs and not replace 5 unneeded coils? Crickets.... Same scenario on replacing all of the spark plugs...crickets We will flush the transmission fluid and see if fresh fluid will cure the problem: "no, doubt know if that will work, but it's worth a try" "Why would fluid cause a sputter?" crickets. Hundreds of dollars... "Oh by the way, we can repair the rest of the things we found wrong with your car for thousands of dollars...just not what you brought it in for" I'm a former bank president and ran a large software company...I may not know a lot about cars...but, do know bait and switch when I see it.... read more

I needed my car to be checked out before traveling long distance and had the pleasure speaking to Jameson Barkdoll @ S Daytona site who welcomed me at my car and heard what my concerns were and with caring ear stated he would take a look and make sure I'm taken care of . Such an amazing way to pull up to an auto car place named Honest 1 be greeted outside with asker and such authenticity.he told me to wait in the lobby well it wasn't just a lobby it had a massage chair , play area for kids , a gaming system for teens, lots chairs and Wi-Fi with coffee and tea and a computer if you didn't have one of your own. When I was commenting out loud in lobby how clean it was and what a great environment to be in waiting for your service to be done and felt immediately at home. At that moment the director of operations Ben Poisson started telling me about their history and being a family owned establishment etc and how great it was to work there and how he got the job and we had a real in depth discussion about life and how we perceive things with a positive outcome by letting go and trusting the process and knowing the best is coming . Had a few minor problems with my car and scheduled an appointment. I was thinking that I may have to have new brakes. They did a full inspection on the car and gave me a great itemized statement showing all areas of concern with photos. Brakes were not anything to worry about at this time. I feel if I had gone somewhere else, they would have replaced the brakes anyway. I recently had my SUV sideswiped by a large truck. It looked like the fender was in need of replacing. I had a similar incident a few years ago in New Jersey and it cost me $600 to replace a small side panel. Eddie said to me as we walked to the car, "Let's see how lucky you got."
