The seamstress was very curt and rude upon entry on the establishment. When she did come from around the back of the store, she abruptly snatched my daughter's dress out of my hand, took my request and gave me my yellow sip for pick up. End of discussion. The big problem came when it was time to grab the prom dress. Now in fairness, I was 8 minutes late to the location, since running around for this special event. However, I did call but when I received no answer, I figured that she was just busy. To my small heart attack, the establishment was closed. I was devasted to say the least! I would've really liked a phone call to say "Hey, I'm leaving soon", or "Are you still picking up the dress", something or anything for that matter. Especially seeing that it was a special event. I honestly, would've appreciated a little customer service moment, that would've made all the difference with being a first time customer. I will say that after I called my friend for help, she got in contact with the owner (I presume) and managed to get her to come back and open the shop so I can get my daughter's prom dress. Thank Goodness for good friends, right?!! I'm not sure if I would return or not but I'm definitely not using the place for urgent needs or special requests. Good customer service is really about those tiny steps to make every customer feel like they're appreciated for choosing your business, and I hope no one else has to go through this experience.

I called Starcrest Cleaners on Conestoga Drive in Springfield,IL on 10/12/24 @ 8 am inquiring about…read moregetting a suit pressed for Homecoming using their same day service. I called and spoke with Terry S who assured me if I had the suit to them before 9am it would be ready same day by 5pm. I rushed to drop the suit off and had it in their hands by 8:30am. Received my ticket that said same day service, in 10/12 and out 10/12 by 5 pm. As the day went on it got to be around 3:30 pm and I had not heard anything from them so I decided to reach out. Once I pulled the number up on Google the hours listed stated they were closing at 4pm?? How is that when my ticket in hand states I can pick it up by 5pm. I call the store and the women who initially checked me in answered the phone (I don't recall her name). When I proceed to ask the status of the suit being pressed she put me on hold for 10 minutes. I arrived to the store at 3:45pm, still on hold inquiring about the suit. I was told they didn't do same day pressing at that location. Excuse me! When I called and spoke with Terry S prior to dropping the suit off AND when I actually dropped the suit off I was reassured it could be done. I was told the lady that checked me in was new and she didn't understand the process. If that were true Terry S didn't understand the process either because she told me it could be done via phone. I asked if once it was figured out that it could not be done there same day why no one reached out to me so I could make alternate arrangements. Dead silence. No answers just a bunch of apologies. In the end the suit was no longer at that location and was taken to the West White Oaks location. I call that location and the guy tells me it can be done Monday. Absolutely not! The event is today in a few hours. Long story short the suit never got pressed. I had to pick it up and do it myself last minute. Terrible management, poor communication. I would not visit this location again for anything!
