I hate to give 1 star reviews, but that's what he deserves. I called to ask about a very simple tuneup problem I was having with my car. I didn't have time to diagnose it myself. I was told he could come out the following Tuesday, about 6 days later. On Monday I texted him my address. No response. Then no show on Tuesday, and no response to my phone call or message left on Wednesday. I called another mobile mechanic I found on Yelp, and he came out within an hour. This was a big waste of my time. I could have had the car running a week earlier if he had just said he was too busy. The owner of CT Mobile Auto Repair dm'd me soon after I wrote this review. I would have considered removing my review, but after giving me less than 20 minutes to respond to his dm, as you can see in his reply, he called me a liar. Here's a screen shot of the text I sent him and got no response to, as I stated in my 1 star review. Instead of owning up to his mistakes, he puts the blame on me. Here's your proof. Did you forget discussing the the placement of the new distributor and asking if I marked the direction of the rotor and discussing using a screwdriver to move the oil pump gears. Curtis is a true car mind, he can explain what he is performing on your vehicle & the probable outcomes of said fix. I noticed Curtis has classic cars listed on Yelp as something he can work on, I communicated through Yelp and through text to lock an appointment in. I got my quote for a valve adjust/timing work. Curtis kept in touch with me and was able to get right to work upon arrival. The work took a little longer than anticipated but Curtis kept me updated throughout (with explanations of his work) and kept true to his original quote. He also went out of his way to try to get the timing dialed in. He asked me to follow up with him once I got a chance to test drive the car, it does drive better after the valve adjust and i'll probably contact him again for further work. Fabulous service and experience. I've done brake jobs on every car I've owned but this one is the first one that stumped me. Electronic parking brake, tricky thing sometimes. I was stuck so asked Curtis for help, my car in a state of disassembly in the garage. He contacted me quickly and we set a time to have him come over and unstuck me. Curtis replaced the alternator on my 2003 Nissan Maxima several days ago. He first came over and diagnosed the problem and texted me later with several options regarding different brands and price ranges available. We scheduled a repair and he was here on time and put in the new alternator without any problems or surprises. I had to arrange for a mobile auto mechanic for my mom in San Diego with what I thought might be the alternator, based on what she had told me over the phone. I did the best research I could for a mobile mechanic and I obviously chose the right one. What could've been A very expensive fix turned out to be a very affordable one. He was able to diagnose it correctly over the phone, and it turned out not to be the alternator. Curtis was on time and took great care of my elderly mom's car. And here's what blew me away. I called up Curtis after reading his reviews on Yelp. He came out for his fee of $80 and was able to diagnose the situation quickly. He then only charged us $60 because he felt that price was more in line with the assessment he had done, always a good sign of an honest business owner. We've now ordered our parts and are just waiting to schedule a time with him, to have him work on the suspension issue. I will follow up on this review once the appointment is made and the work is done. I would definitely recommend Curtis and his mobile repair from this point. He responded quickly via phone and text for our first call. I would assume he is quite busy so I have taken the advice of others to also call him to schedule time. Small businesses need our support so remember that they don't often have the "extras" such as receptionists and office staff to help them. Beware! Geez now this guy is stalking me. Lord he is scary. My experience is that Curtis, the owner, for no apparent reason was incredibly rude. I simply called and asked how much he would charge to jump start my battery. He said $65.00 However suggested to call a towing company. He said they're going to be cheaper. When I found out the towing company he referred me to was not cheaper, I just simply called him back asking him to come out. With a very sharp tone and very sarcastically he said, " I told you what my price is, I did NOT say I had any availability"! He just then hung up.
