In labor and delivery, the nurse told us that the facility was recently updated. All the medical equipment was new, and the fetal monitor they used was even wireless. The only slight hiccup was that there was nearly no room in postpartum care. Fortunately, we got the last room in the overflow floor. Having giving birth in another state, I was extremely impressed by how updated everything was in the overflow room - the shower was brand new, and the bed could be operated to lengthen or sit at various angles. For pain management, I was a little surprised that their policy is to give ibuprofen only upon request. At the previous hospital I was at, they had a regimen switching between Tylenol and ibuprofen. Parking was probably the most difficult part. The main parking lot is a little far, and you have to use a different entrance if you're coming in the evening (rather than the main entrance of the women's hospital). However, when we left, my partner was able to temporarily park in the rotunda to make the commute a little shorter.

I got so lost just trying to park and find a level to cross over to the hospital entrance. Make sure you go to ground level and make your way over to the entrance. Nurses and doctors are great. Also there's a hallway connecting the main hospital to the cancer center so you don't have to leave the parking lot to go there. Part of the maze that's not as bad. Parking is $4 on the Kellogg side for up to 6hrs the. It jumps to $20! If you're on the Kellogg side, you can get a parking sticker which reduces it back to $4. On the hospital side I don't think you can get a sticker so we'll be paying $20! If you're in the Evanston area then this is a good hospital option. If not, it's not worth driving from far away.

This review is for the GI Lab at Evanston Northwestern back in May 2017. I was scheduled for a…read moreroutine colonoscopy and was freaked the hell out about being ass invaded as that was uncharted territory. I had heard horror stories from others who had the procedure, and while necessary, it sounded painful and very much like you knew someone had been up there. I arrived at the lab and the nurse who checked me in was very nice. Not sure if she could see the fear in my eyes, but she was very lovely in getting my vitals and making small talk to calm me down. Once I got into the room to change, that is when the magic happened. I am going to say that for a procedure like this and me being terrified, Dr. Michael Goldberg and his team did an excellent job on executing this procedure. He and his team were very polite and courtesy, explaining the process without talking down to me. Once I woke up in recovery, there was follow up to see how I was doing. I am happy to say that I don't remember anything once the drugs were administered other than counting back from 100 and waking up in recovery. There was no indication that I had been ass invaded...no feeling whatsoever. Going to say that the most painful part of the whole experience was drinking the crap to prepare the colon for the process...it is supposed to be lemon line, but it had an after taste like weak powdered milk that made me want to puke. About a week or so after the procedure, Dr. Michael Goldberg and his team sent me a best wishes card that they all signed. That was totally unexpected and a very nice touch. If you have Blue Cross/Blue Shield and need a colonoscopy, get thee to Evanston Northwestern and Dr. Michael Goldberg and his team. First rate treatment all the way.

The family and I went out during his knee surgery and once that was completed the doctor called to let me know surgery was complete and everything went well. Then a nurse called and advised me on what happens next and let me talk to him. Once we arrived back we waited a short time and then we were able to head back to see him. Only two at a time. This staff member's behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, and was completely misaligned with the standards expected in a healthcare facility (a place that is supposed to provide a safe space in serving patients who may be emotionally vulnerable or concerned about their health). This staff member spoke to me, my family, as well as other patients in a manner that was extremely rude, dismissive, and openly disrespectful. Her tone of voice and demeanor conveyed an attitude of complete irritation, pure laziness, and a clear lack of accountability. Additionally, we witnessed her yell at an older patron to "Go sit down!" while he was attempting to ask a question. Her display of hostility toward someone simply seeking clarity about an update was horrifying. She is a BULLY. It seems as if this staff member counts on others not catching or hearing what she says (out loud or under her breath), or banks on no one speaking up against her or calling her out. I can 100% guarantee that this is not an isolated incident exhibited by this individual, but a continuous inappropriate behavior of hers that has never been addressed or corrected by management. This individual should be given a harsh consequence or be placed on some type of a behavior correction plan. Better yet, she should be removed entirely so that she is prohibited and banned from associating with any other human beings, ASAP. It's interesting, because each of the buildings have kind and helpful greeters posted by the entrance - how is it even remotely possible for this miserable obnoxious individual who is just NOT a good person continues to be employed and be allowed to interact with current and potential patients? Shameful. Endeavor Health, the ball is in your court - how will you advocate for your patients?

Most docs/nurses are great when you finally see them. When I worked in nursing homes, we had to have a specific amount present. I guess that does not apply to hospitals, Getting fluids/pain relief/etc will take roughly 2 hours.

I have been up here since Saturday and we have been out here in these cold Chicago streets living life. Sunday my throat felt a little scratchy, by Monday I was worried. All throughout the night, I was awakened to the pain from swallowing that intensified as the night progressed to morning. By this morning I could not swallow without major pain and I could feel the drainage in my ears and sinuses. I was nervous about coming here because of the Yelp reviews but my cousin in law said this is the only immediate care he goes to. My experience was excellent from beginning to end. I arrived and was immediately greeted for check in. Check in was about 10 minutes to answer all the questions and sign the all of the consent forms. The gentleman who checked me in spoke clearly and was extremely nice. I waited about 5 minutes and I was called back by the nurse. The nurse was extremely friendly and efficient also. She asked me symptom questions and took my pulse and blood pressure. She Then left and said the doctor would be with me shortly. I waited less than five minutes for Dr. Shah to arrive. Dr. Shah introduced herself and then asked me questions about my sickness. She took the time to listen to my symptoms and she also took the time to just let me talk about how was I was physically feeling. She then checked my nose, ears and throat and we discussed my pain level. After she diagnosed me, we talked about the medication that she was prescribing me, the possible side effects and what to do to combat the pain until I started to heal. Lastly, she placed my prescription to my pharmacy of choice. She then printed off my "After Visit Summary" sheet and walked me out. Though I would rather have not gotten sick during my visit to my cousins, I am thankful I choose this immediate care company and location. If I am in the Chicago area again and get sick, I will be intentional of driving to this specific location.
