    Raspberry Decadence

This place hits all the marks and is a hidden gem in SLC. Absolutely delicious bread and pastries. The sandwiches were fresh and came out super fast. Coffee was perfect and the atmosphere was so relaxed, we were able to sit by the window and enjoy ourselves for an hour without feeling rushed. Super cute spot without the overwhelming "hipster" vibes that often accompany a cafe. It felt very homey, bright, and welcoming. You can tell the staff take pride in what they do and the service they provide.

I went on a Tuesday morning when the bakery opened, hoping to get a fresh-made Black and White cookie. Unfortunately they were still serving the B&W's from the prior Saturday, cold and in plastic wrap. B-side: strong dark chocolate flavor. W-side: very mellow tasting. In terms of texture, it had the feel/taste of "magic shell." The cookie was very thin and both frosting were essentially folded from the top side to the bottom side. One Yelper said they it just like Nona used to make, but I prefer the NY/CA style. All of that said, I did enjoy my thin B&W cookie snack. The server behind the glass at Carlucci's was very nice and it looked like they had other tasty items.

Great bakery with lots of delicious breakfast and lunch options. Great place to stop before a visit to create smiles. The black n white cookie, a NYC classic, is better than most (all) in NYC?!? Easy parking. Great service. Bookmarked!

Stopped by Carlucci's Bakery after eating lunch right next store at Caputo's. This place is a little, hidden gem. With me being a die-hard Seinfeld fan, I had to get the Black and White Cookie. And it's delicious. They also have an outstanding Florentine Cookie. And it's gluten-free (and I'm not allergic to gluten either), but you wouldn't know it. The staff is also nice. Check it out!

Great little bakery! Lots of good cookies, pastries, cakes and pretty good coffee. I'm a fan of their iced drink which come with coffee ice cubes!!

This rating is based on the only dessert I've gotten there- the chocolate raspberry flourless torte. This is simply a decadent, rich, 10/10 dessert. It was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, so I only have a picture of the half I didn't eat yet. But I'll return and get this same cake again! They also have many other treats, like coconut macaroons, and my husband really liked his black and white cookie. It's right next to Caputos and Pioneer Park, so you can make an afternoon of this experience.

Carlucci's is located next to my favorite SLC shop, Caputo's, and while I've recently found myself there nearly weekly, had not yet managed to make my way in to Carlucci's. This is no doubt due to the myriad sweets and sandwiches available at their neighbor, and while you certainly should always (ALWAYS) stop by Caputo's, Carlucci's deserved some attention prior to now. Ah well, better late than never! It is a smallish space, but they have decent seating available inside, and while the focus appears to be the baked goods, they also offer café-style meals such as sandwiches, salads, and soup. Paired with local Café Ibis coffee and a pleasant sun-streamed interior, I could see this being a nice spot to spend some time working or with friends. Mismatched old-fashioned plates and bowls charmingly displayed the many sweets in the pastry case, ranging from cookies, bars and brownies to tarts, cakes, and pastries, flan, and breads. They even have dog biscuits! I kept it simple and chose a cellophane wrapped slice of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and black and white cookie. The cake was fine, good even, but nothing extraordinary. The cookie was a surprise delight: tender, with firm, but not too hard icing, the chocolate side very rich, the white tinged with a pleasing touch of lemon. Parking in the area is not great, though fine during less popular times. Otherwise, you may have to hunt for a spot along the street and trek a bit. Prices are average. The experience would have been quite positive, save for the lackluster assistance I received from a near surly young woman who did little to hide her dissatisfaction at the injustice of serving me, and my interruption of her snack time. If I had dined in that would have knocked them down to three stars, but as my interaction was limited, I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope this was a one-time/bad day sort of situation. TL;DR-Not an amazing bakery, but above average.

The cookies and raspberry pastry I got were really good. I did not have a wait and my order was ready right after ordering.

The only downside is that the wait can be pretty long, especially during busy hours. One time it was also really smoky inside, not sure if something had burned but, even with that, the food was 100% worth the wait. We were quoted a 10-15 minute wait despite there being multiple open tables everywhere, which already set the tone. The person at the front also seemed like greeting guests was a personal inconvenience. Not exactly the warm welcome you'd expect from a place trying this hard to look aesthetic. To make things worse, several pastries sitting in the front display were visibly burnt. Not "artisan charred" -- just burnt. The pastries we ordered were actually good, which makes the rest of the menu even more disappointing. We tried the soft scramble, pork cheek tartine, truffle tartine, and mushroom fettuccine. Everything looked beautiful but tasted either burnt, bland, or both. Every toast item arrived burnt enough that you could taste it in every bite. Our server came by often to refill waters and check on us, but the service somehow still felt oddly impersonal. Since the restaurant wasn't busy at all, it also made us wonder how attentive the service would be during an actual rush. Honestly, this place feels more focused on looking trendy than serving good food. Stick to the pastries if you go -- it's the only thing worth ordering.

If you're looking for pastries that are as stunning as they are delicious, Fillings & Emulsions…read moreabsolutely delivers. Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful. The only slight letdown was the macarons. While still good, they didn't quite match the intensity and uniqueness of the pastries and felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you appreciate creative, high-quality desserts. It's clear a lot of skill and care goes into every piece. I loved the building that the pastry shop was in, as it had a "lunch room" feel to it. There are a few restaurants inside so there are options and there's plenty of seating.

The sweet cashier recommended Strawberry & Mango, so that's what we got. They were delicious! I think the mango was my personal favorite. The location is in a food mall, which I wasn't expecting but it was so cute inside. I wish we had more time to check out the other vendors but we'll have to come back. On a separate note, it was kind of hard to find a trash can.

Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! PROS: Main street, easy access from transportation/offices Great selection of homemade pastries Nice choices for drinks (obviously, I tried a few) Super quaint bistro style inside Outside seating under shade and a tree Attentive and exceptional employees (CONNOR) CONS: Parking may be an issue, although some on-street parking available DON'T THINK, JUST GO!
