I've been here a few times before, always had their beef noodle soup, and they always hit the spot! This time decided to try their mini personal hotpot for a change of pace. The food came out quickly and looked yummy! I had the spicy pot, the spicy level is just right. I also appreciated all the ingredients they put into the pot! The beef isn't the highest quality, but is ok given the price is so low compared to other personal hotpot places. This visit was on Christmas Eve, I'm not sure if they are understaffed, but it took sometime to get the server's attention each time we needed something. Not a big deal. This is definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall small restaurants, worth a try if you're in the mood for Taiwanese beef noodle soup or personal hotpot!

Coming here was a little confusing because the big sign for the restaurant is rockstar noodle. They do have an Even Life sign but that was a neon sign through the window. The restaurant is located right next to subway. The restaurant is a little small but still good enough for parties of 4-6 max. Service was really good. The lady was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Taiwanese sausages and the minced pork over Taiwanese egg noodles. Your typical Taiwanese dishes and they did not disappoint. Price was fair too.

A cozy and quaint Taiwanese eatery that is open late and specializes in spicy beef noodle soup. Ive been coming here for years and the owner is so enthusiastic to help customers. You can tell that he loves his business. Here are my recommendations: 招牌牛肉麵 Signature Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (spicy) -For those who want something along the lines of Medium spicy. It comes with chunks of tender beef, bok choy, and noodles of your choice. The broth is so flavorful, you cant stop drinking it. I choose Shaved Noodles because theyre both flat and wide, which grabs the broth nicely. For the price of $12.99, the value is unbeatable. 炸豆腐 Fried Tofu-8 pieces of perfectly cut rectangular tofu fried to crispy golden brown. Served with garlic soy sauce. The tofu slices are about 1x1x2 inches in size. Quite filling despite the size. 拍黃瓜 Smashed Cucumbers- Perfect blend of rice vinegar, garlic, and sugar. Not too salty and is a cool, refreshing side dish. 炸魷魚 Fried Squid Legs- Incredibly filling. Lightly battered and crispy. Not fishy tasting at all. Usually served with a side of kewpie mayo. Highly recommend for those who like fried calamari.

Came here out of curiosity because we always see this place but never go! We got beef noodles and spicy wontons. The beef noodles were good! I didn't really like the spicy wonton though, I'm not sure if the sauce had some bean paste in it or something but it tasted a little bit weird to me. Friendly staff.

first off, the place is a bit misleading since the sign says "Rockstar Noodle Bar", but has "Even Life" neon signs in the windows. it's a small place, but one of my go-to's! i went in with only one guy working the register & kitchen, but he friendly and quick! the prices are just unbeatable, ESPECIALLY for the lunch combo?! a drink, a bowl of noodles & a side for $15.99 is crazy. even a bowl of the beef noodle soup for $12.99 during regular hours is amazing compared to any other place! one of the only places i can find that has the option of beef noodles soup with glass noodles (my favorite), but the hand cut noodles are my family's preference!

service was fast and kind! our food was delicious and the smashed cucumbers were a table-favorite. i got the beef tripe and tendon noodle soup with extra chewy noodles, coming out to be $16. the broth was good but i would've liked more beef pieces. ambiance is clean and inviting, we went around 10pm so by then the restaurant was quiet with a couple of chatters providing white noise. great late night spot to fill your noodle cravings!

I always ordered delivery on Fantuan and finally went in person. The server was nice and our food came out quickly. All times I've eaten there, I've been really pleased with all items - the beef noodle soup, spicy wontons, fried chicken, chicken wings, cucumber salad

Service was great and noodles were very tasty and fresh I think the best noodle places are the ones that you don't have to drink the soup/ sauce in order for the noodles to have taste and this place does just that but if you can't handle spicy I recommend getting medium or mild spicy is. Pretty spicy definitely a great place for fresh pulled noodles

Tucked away with the best view of Colima Rd. You'll find this small restaurant with two entrances. If you're looking for full service, this isn't the place. You will need to order your food at the cash register and the server/cashier will bring your order to the table. I ordered the signature beef noodle soup in medium spicy, which had the perfect amount of spicy flavor and decided to try the extra chewy flat noodles. Texture of the noodles was 10/10. I felt the broth had a lot of depth of flavor but felt an overpowering flavor of white pepper. But did not overlook the very tender chunks of beef and perfectly cooked bok choy. Chicken wings were good but had that over powering of white pepper too. I don't know if I came on an off day but I will give this place a second chance.

Food(5/5): I got the Beef and Beef Tendon and Beef Tripe Noodle Soup and my bf got the Signature Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The texture of both noodles were perfect. The portion size appears to be small but the noodles were really filling. The broth was flavorful and wasn't too oily. Service(4/5):There was nothing special about the service. She only came to our table when we ordered and when we asked for the checks. Ambiance(4.5/5):The interior was so cute with little legos displays. The interior has a modern cafe feel to it. It's a bit cold inside but it feels relaxing. The location is a bit hidden and you wouldn't see it unless you were actively searching for it on the map.

I've tried quite a few dishes here and honestly everything has been solid. I usually get the house beef noodle but this time I tried the braised pork noodle. My friend got the hot and sour chaoshou which was also really good. The dumpling skin was chewy and they were packed with filling. It's also nice that you can customize the oil level in your broth. We ordered the pig ears as an appetizer too. I loved the crunchy texture but the flavor was a bit underwhelming. The initial taste was mostly chili oil and then the flavor kind of disappeared. They have a lot of other great appetizers on the menu so I'd probably skip this one next time. I order the medium spice bone broth every time, but they also have Tomato based broth as an option, which my friends really enjoy. Service is good, from order to serving, it comes out pretty fast. A downside is the quality/cleanliness of the ingredients at times. Occasionally, some ingredients that sit in water get murky (ex. Tofu) and the vegetables get wilted or start to discolor. It's the least of my worries as I continued to return and am satisfied with the taste of the food! What really lowers the rating for this place aside from the subpar quality is the automatically implemented tip in the payment system. I've been going here for the past 2 years and have never been automatically charged for tip, but the last time I went, there wasn't even an option to change or decline the tip. I didn't have the time to question the cashiers when it happened, but based on others' reviews, it confirmed for me that they have recently implemented this system. It's extremely unfair and invalid to require tip without prior informing, and I only had a party of 2 which does not hit the gratuity requirement of 5+ guests. I believe you shouldn't be required to tip a certain amount, or any amount at all, if the service is bare minimum and quite literally their job. This is self serve so that's even less of a reason to force people to tip.
