    Rice noodles in China
    Betty W.

Authentic tasting! Love their Guilin rice noodles. We visited Guilin and Yangshuo in 07/19, was an unforgetable trip. Ate a bowl of Guilin noodles wherever it was on the menu to taste how each place made it. Funny thing is the Oil Tea is the #1 thing I missed the most, simple yet comforting. Five Stars' Guilin rice noodles reminds me of the noodles I had during our trip. Very deliscious and right on point. Before the trip, I was not a fan, but now, when I want a comforting bowl of rice noodles, I would drive to get this to go. The soup included can be drank separately or mix with the noodles mid eating. Hits the spot. As you can see in pics below, Five Star's noodles do not look bad at all compared to the real deal in Guangxi, China!

    Guilin rice noodles- so good!!

My friends and I stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a place to dine in. The menu was definitely different from what I'm used to- the staff kindly explained to me that the rice noodles are authentically representative of what they consume in regions in Guangzhou. Throwing all caution to the wind, we stepped out on a limb and ordered the Guilin rice noodles, and the Old friend variety (one is a soup, the other is pan fried). Being a millennial, I tried to customize my order, but unfortunately they were unable to accommodate. Did it matter? Heck no! I was surprised to find that the food was fantastic, even with the items in the noodles I don't usually like. I especially loved the sauce mixed with the noodles, and my boyfriend loved the fried pork (it reminded him of chicharrones- he's Hispanic). My friends, who don't speak Chinese, also expressed their satisfaction with the food and overall experience. This, along with the staff friendliness and desire to communicate despite the language barrier, the lack of wait time, what I thought was a very reasonable price (~$11-13/person for lunch), and the cleanliness of the establishment led me to conclude that I will come back. As a note, even though the staff primarily speak Chinese, their menu has pictures, so you don't have to speak mandarin to frequent this place (:

Very tasty. Slippery noodles combined with the various meats and mild sauce was wonderful. Ask for chili oil, makes it even better.

Clean friendly restaurant, food is fast, service is good, Guilin rice noodle is very authentic flavor! I have to say it being back some of my old memories from China!

The best Guangxi rice noodle restaurant in LA. Old friend fried rice noodle cured my homesickness literally.

The Tilapia and the Shrimp with egg and the Salt And Pepper Pork was good. The vegetable was ok but I don't eat vegetables. My mom used to tell to me to eat vegetables but I still don't. I don't like some vegetables that kind of hard. The service i s some what not ok. In the beginning the service was great cause of no customers. When there were some customers my brother had to go up to talk to the waitress to either get refill for the tea of napkins and the bill too. She wasn't that busy at all. He had to go up 4 to 5 times. We would probably to another place next time.

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.
