Although their past health issues raised some concerns and made me wait a couple of months before trying this newly opened restaurant in Rowland Heights, I am glad to report that I had no stomach issues at all, but just bold, spicy flavors that delivered a strong, satisfying kick. Most people know this chain restaurant because its owner is extremely famous across Asia, not only for the brand itself but also for his dramatic life. This spice focused restaurant specializes in Sichuan influenced small dishes, including noodles, vermicelli, spicy cold dishes, and mini hot pots. Many diners come here for a single bowl of noodles, which is already filling and satisfying on its own, as the side such as braised pork intestines, pork trotters, fried eggs, and beef, are all boldly flavored and pair well with the spicy base soup. Make sure to choose a spice level you can handle, as the heat mostly likely comes mainly from concentrated chili oil and can strongly hit both your tongue and your stomach. The side dishes and fried items are also worth trying. The country style crispy fried chicken is soft on the inside, with a sweet & sour sauce coating on the outside that makes it even savory. Overall, this is a comfort spot to enjoy spicy food, from noodles and vermicelli to mini hot pots, everything delivers a satisfying, spicy kick. It's a great addition to the area and adds more variety to the local food scene.

Restaurant was clean and service and food were great. Got the tofu pudding intestine and mini spicy hot pot with duck blood and both were flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. Prices are super fair and I would 100% come back to try other dishes. Noticed while we were leaving that they have green tea/milk teas that were under $4, so definitely going to try some next time!

This new restaurant intrigued both mine and my partners taste buds. We love a good o'l bowl of Chinese noodles and rich broth so we had to try it. I enjoy Chinese hospitality. They are quick to serve. We were seated, presented with menus and were served water once we entered. The restaurant was spotless and had modern background music. We ordered the Noodles with Braised beef and the Noodles with Pickled chillies and Crispy trio. Just as we smelled it from the kitchen, we knew these dishes were going to be a 10/10. The noodles we chose did not disappoint! The braised beef was so soft and was packed with so much broth. The broth was rich and had the perfect amount of spice (in my opinion). I couldn't even ask my partner what he thought because he was so busy demolishing his Noodles haha. We also ordered their popular tea; Rose grape green tea and Lemon green tea. From the 2 teas, my favorite was the Rose Grape in terms of flavor preference. However, both were refreshing and light on the tummy. They had the perfect amount of sweetness and ice levels. The highlight of this experience was we were given 2 complimentary coins to play at their claw machine. We failed to claw a plushy haha. Overall, our tummies were happy and full. We'll definitely return to try their other dishes. :)

Came here for lunch with a friend. We both have never been here before. The service was great. The food was just ok. Nothing exceptional. It's kinda like the Mala noodle you can make at home with fresh veggie and meat.

Stopped by on a Saturday and it was not busy. Lots of tables inside. It was clean and service was great. They did not turn on the ac so it could get a little warm after eating some hot soup. The menu mainly had noodle dishes. We got the beef noodle and chicken wonton.

One more day in LA and off I go to Jersey. So making good use of my time today, I volunteered to be the guinea pig at this new establishment; first and foremost. It is indeed the end of an era, where Ten Rens Tea Time used to anchor this location, so many thanks to them for giving us a place to study over the decades. Now back to Maluji Suanlafen, I honestly believe it has every right to have 4-5 stars; Clean, ultra modern, K-Pop music in the background, and solid noodles and rice bowls. I took the time to go through one of the one star yelp reviews, and ordered a Soft Tofu Chitterlings (Pork Intestines) Spicy Mala Braise, didn't find any issues with the pork. In fact Alot of folks don't know this, but pork chitterlings are double processed at all Chinese restaurants. They're thrown into a large Kettle, boiled for long periods of time, before they're taken out and cut into smaller slices and thrown into Braise Mixtures. And so I found myself enjoying the 肥腸豆花腦 tofu + intestine in Chilli sauce. I also took the opportunity to order their House Spicy Sour Potato Noodles, and the minced ground pork braise was very well made, together with the salted/ mustard veges, bean sprouts and various Szechuan spices, it was very enjoyable. And I contend this place is better than Mian by Chengdu Taste. You look around, sitting down and figure this place is probably some Chinese rich kid's path to Permanent Residency via some kind of investment to residency program so you'd think the food here probably will suck, but quite the opposite, this place has every right to become the go to place for Szechuan Street Style Noodles and having eaten at food stalls in Chongqing China, I can unbiasedly say this is on many levels equivalent to what you get in China. Definitely adding to my every-now-and-then category. #Fast-Casual-Solid-Clean-Modern-Chengdu-Szechuan

Tender beef and the spice was hitting the taste spot. Plenty of seat in the afternoon and the staff were very nice and attentive.

We came here over the weekend. Although there were some food safety concerns when the restaurant first opened, I had always wanted to give it a try. This time, everything went smoothly -- we were seated right away with no wait, and the food came out very quickly. All the dishes tasted great, and the prices were very reasonable. Special thanks to the male server with glasses -- super friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back!

I had a really unpleasant experience here. I ordered the SPICY VERMICELLI PORK INTESTINE,and unfortunately discovered that the intestine was not cleaned properly. There were visible lymph nodes / fatty lumps still attached, which is extremely unhygienic and honestly disgusting. This isn't just about taste -- it's about basic food safety and preparation standards. Intestines require thorough cleaning, and serving them like this is unacceptable. I lost my appetite immediately and could not continue eating. For a dish that relies so heavily on one main ingredient, this level of carelessness is very concerning. I won't be returning, and I strongly caution others, especially those sensitive to food hygiene.

Loved this place. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a nice modern vibe. I ordered the chicken noodle soup with fungus mushroom and it was amazing; rich, flavorful broth. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the shredded chicken with cordyceps made it extra delicious and hearty. The chicken wontons were also delicious. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out hot and fresh. Highly recommend and will be back for more.

This Deluxe Spicy vermicelli bowl made me spending almost the entire night on the toilet, had diarrhea at least 9-10 times.

On the night of November 1st, I ordered a deluxe spicy vermicelli bowl. Around 3 a.m., I suddenly had severe stomach pain and started feeling like I needed to use the bathroom. I ended up spending almost the entire night on the toilet, on and off, having diarrhea until about 7 a.m. After took some diarrhea medicine, which helped a little, but by then I had already gone to the bathroom at least 8 times. In the afternoon, it happened another 2 times before it finally stopped. Even after that, my stomach still didn't feel right. I have no idea what went wrong with their food, but I definitely won't be going back to this restaurant again.

Service was very good and was able to accommodate our group of 16 people. We got a variety of dishes and everything came out quick. They have mainly noodle soup dishes of varying spice levels and there's usually a free refill of noodles for the noodle dishes! Both vermicelli and white noodles were good!

Went here with a friend who swore by their food, and wow, they weren't kidding! The 豪华酸辣粉 was legit--so flavorful, with loads of toppings. That tangy, spicy kick? Perfection. Also tried the pig trotters--super tender and paired perfectly with the sauerkraut and egg. Staff was super friendly, the place was spotless, and parking was super easy. Totally worth it, and honestly, so Instagram-worthy! :) Will def come back!
